‘Reminiscing Forgotten Treasure…Simanggang’ Our ref. : SHS-Simanggang/021 nd Date : 02 April 2015 Notice of Workshop (Site Visit) & Registration Fort Alice has been conserved and fitted out with dated furniture, artefacts and exhibition panels to serve as a local heritage th museum. The project which has been handed over to Jabatan Muzium Sarawak (JMS) is scheduled to open on 18 April 2015. We are organising a closing event for our community engagement programme with ‘A night in Fort Alice’ theme for a one-off experience to stay in the conserved fort. The participants will also contribute in a cleaning spree to support JMS in their preparation for official opening. Details of the programme are as follow: Venue Date No. of Participants : Fort Alice th th : 11 - 12 April 2015 (Saturday & Sunday) : 50 maximum for day programmes. Overnight stay limited to 30 participants with priority given to local Facilitators and students who have attended the previous workshops : ‘A Night in Fort Alice’ – Programme closing event with “Gotong-royong” & overnight stay in the fort Programme th Day 1, 11 April 2015 (Saturday) 02:00pm - Registration at the entrance to Fort Alice. Collection of the second limited-edition T-shirt for the programme 02:15pm - Assignment of participants to Facilitators. Briefing and allocation of cleaning tasks 02:30pm - Cleaning of the fort lead by Facilitators and Volunteers 03:15pm - Tea break. Collection of limited- edition hat. 03:30pm - Resume cleaning 04:15pm - End of cleaning session. Break 04:30pm - Games (prizes to be given out) 05:00pm - Taking group photograph. Participants go home to freshen up and packing for their night stay 06:30pm - Re-group at Fort Alice for appreciation dinner hosted by the organisers 07:15pm - Slide show – recollection of fun-time in the past events 08:00pm - Movie session 09:45pm - Break for supper 10:00pm - Night tour of the exhibitions guided by Ar. Mike Boon 11:00pm – Bed time th Day 2, 12 April 2015 (Sunday) 07:30am - Freshen up and pack up sleeping gears 08:00am - Breakfast trail at local coffee shops hosted by the organisers 09:30am - ‘Salute to Alice’ – Architectural tour guided by Ar. Mike Boon 10:30am - Presentation of certificates to all participants (past and present) 11:00am - Group photograph taking session 11:30am - End of programme Notes: a) Local participants are required to wear their first limited-edition project T-shirt to attend 11.04.2015 evening session; b) Parents are encouraged to join the activities but not to stay overnight; c) Participants shall wear proper shoes, long trousers, bring along cleaning cloths, umbrella and water bottles of their own. d) Participants staying overnight in the fort shall bring their own sleeping gears (sleeping bags/mat/pillow/ night clothing), insect repellent, medicine, small towel, cup and toiletries. e) No food and drinks shall be allowed in the upper floor of the fort. f) The site is not covered by Public Liability Insurance, therefore the Sarawak Government, Jabatan Muzium Sarawak, JKR, and the Organisers shall not be held liable for any accidents that may occur to any Facilitators, Volunteers, Participants and Visitors during the event. Registration & Parent/Guardian Consent I, (name of parent/ guardian) parent/guardian of (Participant’s name), hereby give consent for my child to participate in the above site visit. I accept that the Sarawak Government, Jabatan Muzium Sarawak, JKR, and the Organisers shall not be held responsible for any mishap that may happen to my child during the site visit to Fort Alice at Sri Aman. My child will / will not (cross-out whichever is not applicable) stay overnight at Fort Alice on 11.04.2015.
