I will be away from the office thru July 12, 2014.
Certificates for First Communion and Confirmation may
be picked up in the Parish Office after July 14, 2014.
Registrations for New and Returning Students begin on
Monday, July 14, 2014 in the Parish office and continue Monday thru Thursday only
from 3:00-5:00 pm.
First year students will need a copy of Baptismal certificate to register & tuition
payment of: First year $60.00 per child
Second year $100.00 per child (includes two retreats). Students that continue after the
sacrament: $60.00 per child
Bring the Message Home
Read the Gospels together. Read slowly, with feeling. The New American Bible
reads well and is what they hear during Mass. If children are old enough, consider
alternating reading out loud or acting out what you’ve read so the message becomes
real.
Attend Mass as a family. Take time to admire the artwork in church. The icons,
statues, and stained glass were originally meant as teaching tools.

Monterey & Fresno Dioceses Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend—
“Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.” Sometimes, as much as we love each other it seems like the thorns of life are choking
our marriage and family. Take time to kill the thorns by taking time for your
Sacramental marriage. The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend will
be held on October 24-26, 2014, at the Saint Francis Retreat Center in San Juan

STEWARDSHIP REPORT
How are Christians to respond to this “foolish” God? We must ask ourselves if we are
allowing God’s Word to take root deep in our hearts and produce an abundant yield.
We must ask if we are too stingy with the good news, fearful of being rejected.

some crafty parishioners
to build some carnival
games.
We plan to use the
carnival games for our
family festival, for the
School’s Safe Halloween and other school events.
In the past these games have been rented and we
want to build some games so that we can use them
year after year and avoid rental fees. If you are
interested in helping build some carnival games, please

HOMELESS CHILDREN Simple things for many of us are difficult
for those with no home, especially
children. They may not have extra
clothes, especially underwear and socks. We have
laundry baskets in the front entry of the church to
receive your donations when you come to Mass.
We’ll be collecting them during the summer months
and then giving them to needy students in our city
when the new school year begins. Thank you for your
help.
A veces las cosas sencillas son difíciles para los que
no tienen hogar, especialmente para los niños. Puede
que no tengan la ropa suficiente para usar, como ropa
interior y calcetines. Durante este verano estaremos

The Diocesan Pastoral Office has been notified that
Madonna and Fr. Ignacio, Pastor of
Bettie Miller, the mother of Rev. Michael Miller,
Sacred Heart Church, wish to thank everyone who
passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014. Many of us
supported the Lenten Fish Dinners. Heartfelt thanks to
remember Mrs. Miller with great affection, and share the volunteers who worked very hard under
