The TRE/TPE Chain Drive Diff is the only unit
designed specifically for the Chain Drive racecar. It is
sealed, oil lubricated, and strong. See the page 2 for
more detail.
The driveshafts offered are of the lightweight tripod
design, or the special Lightweight Lobro that allows
simplified axle design using the available tubing
welded to special stubs integral with the CV joint.

The Quaife Torque-Biasing differential
behaves as an open differential until a
loss or reduction of traction occurs at one
wheel. When the loss of traction is
sensed, the differential automatically
biases up to 80% of the engine torque to
the wheel with the better traction. (the
description “torsen” applied to torquebiasing differentials is derived from
Torque Sensing.)
As the operation is automatic, no
adjustment is required or desired on the
differential,. All adjustments are made
simply with springs sway bars, and
shocks. This greatly reduces the chassis
engineer’s workload.
