FWADA FALL GALLERY NIGHT 2013 1
FWADA GALLERY NIGHT
CELEBRATES 36 YEARS!
The Fort Worth Art Dealers Association is proud to sponsor
Gallery Night, the semi-annual art exhibition & fund-raising event
that has become the kick-off for the fall art scene! Originated by
the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association, Spring & Fall Gallery Night
sponsors art exhibitions throughout our city, and raises funds
through sponsorships in the Gallery Night booklets. To name a
few of FWADA’s civic contributions, monies raised from the
Gallery Night booklets go toward art student scholarships, monetary awards for art competitions, tuition for art camps and grants
for art educational opportunities.
FWADA also sponsors Selections, a summer exhibition of artists represented by FWADA member galleries on view at the Fort
Worth Community Arts Center each July, and with a panel of
distinguished art professionals discussing various aspects of the
excitement and passion that is collecting fine art!
The Fort Worth Art Dealers Association is an organization of
independent art dealers & non-profit exhibition spaces, including
university galleries & museums. The organization’s purpose is to
raise the consciousness of & stimulate awareness in the
community of the world of art through exhibitions & educational
programs. The members of the Fort Worth Art Dealers
7 Association

are pledged to the maintenance of a high standard of ethical

Benito Huerta : September Song
Movies, time, politics, terrorism and the end
of the world are ingredients for Benito
Huerta’s recent work in his exhibition,
September Song. The Kurt Weill/Maxwell
Anderson song is the background score for
these action scenes eternally frozen in
time.
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few, September, November - I’d let
the old Earth make a couple of whirls, while I plied her with tears in lieu of
pearls - And these few precious days I’ll spend with you.

FWPA: Artists and the City, Part II
A follow-up to the 2011 FWPA: Artists and the City which was one of the key events in a series
of celebrations that marked the 10th Anniversary of Fort Worth Public Art (FWPA), this exhibition will showcase projects completed over the past two years, with a focus on how artists
contribute to the built environment and how artists work with design teams on projects in
which the artwork in integrated into the built structure.
Professional artists bring a rare combination of talents – both creative and pragmatic - to
city projects. Each public art project presents a unique set of opportunities and challenges that
artists must address to successfully bring their concepts into reality, usually in close coordination with architects and engineers and community stakeholders. The exhibition seeks to illustrate ways in which artists are enhancing the built visual environment of our city.
