Liberty students attended a Veteran’s Day assembly on Wednesday, November 4th. Veterans were honored at the assembly. This was the 12th year that Liberty hosted a Veteran’s Day assembly, to honor past and present servicemen from all branches of service. One of the guest speakers was Ms. Sharon A. For years, the word has been tossed and turned around in our heads. We’ve spent weeks Pictured above is our 8th grade stu- in each grade level figuring out what the dent, Kristen Cramer, reading her es- small word means. As the years go by, and the students grow up to be mature residents of the U.S., we misuse the word. Our generation takes it out of context; we see it differently than the original citizens of America. I have been raised to see that America has brought us freedom. Not to only itself, but to other countries as well. To me, freedom is the word that this country has been built upon. The word that people have been contemplating, for when they wanted inspiration. To bring us equality and give everyone a choice. This word, gave us all a gift, it made us all stand on the same level with each other. Not any other word better describes what our forefathers have fought for, what the nation has fought for, and what every person in America has come for or stayed for. Freedom will forever ring in our home, families, children , and lives. As long as we don’t forget what life was like before we will live in peace and not turn our backs against each other. In hopes of dreams coming true, the people of our nation will forever remember this word that has changed everyone’s lives in the world. For the hopes, wishes, and dreams this word will not ever be forgotten. Freedom has already changed thousands of lives and will continue to do so. “Taps” On Wednesday, November 4th, Liberty students saluted our United States Veterans with speeches and adulations.
