Foreword
Any functionality that would not be explicitly written in this document at the time of
validation would be considered as beyond the initial scope of the contracts signed between
C2iS and the customer. However, additional functionalities or modifications may be requested
by the customer to be developed by C2iS, upon a specific order/contract or through an
amendment to the initial contract.

Introduction
Glossary
Static page: HTML page where the content is not dynamically generated by the server from
the database of the site. These are appropriate for complex layout or to display non-Latin
characters.
Administrated page: HTML page based on a defined template with content from the
database of the web site. The content of the pages is directly administrated from the back
office tool.
Dynamic page: HTML page with content fetched from the database using specific selection
rules (ex: listing of news). This concerns usually lists of results or particular products (product
list, technical files...).
Text field: content block to stock row text without layout. The layout is handled by the upper
block where the content displays.
Rich text field: content block with layout (HTML or XML) and text. This enables the user to
deal with the content layout in WYSIWYG mode (What you see is what you get). It includes
bold, italic, tables and more and supports the copy/paste from other rich text editors.
BACK OFFICE (BO): administration tool of the site. This can be accessed online on a
secured space. Access to the features depends on the profile of the connected users.
FRONT OFFICE (FO): public part of the site accessible directly from the main site's URL.

Project perimeter
Creation of a professional web site for Touax Modular Building division (TSM)
1.3.
Accessibility
1.3.1.
Optimization
The front office (FO) of the web site will be optimized for two different screen width: 1024px
and 1280px on IE7+ (with backwards compatibility for IE6) on Windows, Firefox 3+ and
Chrome on windows and Mac OSX 10,2+.
Accessibility rules for the site refers to common pages optimization rules (optimize source
code, pages weight). No accessibility label is needed regarding W3C/WAI standards.

Languages
Front Office:
9 domains (.fr, .cz, .de, .nl, .be, .net, .es, .pl, .sk) will be addressed. Each domain is multilingual (own language + English + more if needed) but uses its own language as main except
for the Belgium which uses 2 languages (French and Flemish). In the case of multiple “own
language”, it is possible to add a pop-in to select the default language at the beginning of the
visit.

Back Office:
Back office in all domains will be in English.

Data integration
Contents will be provided and filled by the customer.

SEO
C2iS recommends the SEO services of CyberCité but C2is is also open to work with other
SEO suppliers and will follow the recommendations of the selected provider for this project.

2.
Technical purposes
2.1.
CMS
The chosen CMS (Content Management System) to administrate the site is Drupal 7.
2.2.
CMS additional modules
This list may not be exhaustive and may change during the project's realization



Module to enable the use of a print to PDF and send by mail links
Imagefield Crop or Image JavaScript Crop (selected one will depend on quality

Database architecture
As the project aims at addressing 9 different domains, two main possibilities can be
implemented:



Both architectures will be tested in order to select the best one for the specific purposes of

In order to guarantee the good functioning of all features, it is mandatory that the web browser
allows cookies (default parameter in desktop's browsers).

C2iS recommends the hosting services of AlterWay.
Backups will be operated by the hosting provider.

3.
Back Office
3.1.
Important
The troubles with the actual web site provided by Touax users are mainly about the usage of
the back office. Therefore, a particular attention must be provided to the user's manual and the
training.
3.2.
Ease of use
To simplify the use of the back office, some shortcuts will be provided to guide all users
in common actions.
When possible, changes will be available
directly from a “Front Office like” view.
Rich content will be formatted by using a rich text editor. This editor also supports copy/paste
from other HTML composing tools.
If possible, the unneeded items will be hidden to non-administrator users.
3.3.
Picture treatment
Ability to upload a full size image and, from the BO, resize and crop it to adapt to the pages.
3.4.
Security
3 user profiles with separated roles and rights will be provided
Editor: access to needed modules and features to update product offers
Marketing: editor + communication feature (News Forms).

4.1.
Front Office

Footer
All pages will be composed of these 4 sections to keep the visual identity everywhere on the
site. Graphical elements from the Touax brand guideline are respected.
The sections Header, menu and footer are common to every page; the section content will
have a different layout depending on the content written in.

4.1.1.
Header section
This section will handle Touax's logo, search form, language & country selector, a header
menu and an editable claim.
4.1.2.
Main menu section
This section will handle the main menu of the web site built by editors or marketing people by
adding menu items to pages.
Menus will be displayed on one line. If the width of the menu exceeds the width of the display
zone, a button “More sections” will enable the visitor to show the hidden menus.
The number of menus displayed on this zone without needing to use the “more sections”
button will depend on the length of each menu title. This means that the length of each menu
will differ on each language. The maximum length displayed in this configuration is around a
hundred characters plus the “more sections” button.
If needed, elements can be adapted to fit the requirements.
4.1.3.
Content section
This section will handle the main content provided by editors and marketing users.
Possible contents will be described in the next section of this document.
4.1.4.
Footer section
This section will handle specific sub sections.
o Copyright & links to privacy policy, site map, careers and Touax corporate site
o Customer specific product links
o Direct product links
o Contact links
o Newsletter subscription
Links will be editable and customizable by the administrator from the back office. The administrator will be able to decide which and how many links to be display on this section.

4.2.
Design: 1280px
Graphical elements and global presentation are the same as in the previous screen width.
The main difference led by this increase of width is that more characters can be displayed on
the menu. As menus are the same, more menus will be displayed.

Design: more than 1280px
The only difference with the previous width is that borders of the screen are filed by a gray
background and the content width in the middle is limited to 1200 pixel.
4.4.
Design of menus
When passing the mouse over a menu item,
the item is highlighted and the menu itself
appears (see picture hereby)
Menus can be structured in multiple
columns and multiple sections and are
adjusted to the volume of contents for a
clear view and understanding.

Standard content
Mainly, the content will be composed of administrable pages edited from the back office in a
rich text editor. These pages can be composed of all possible HTML entities such as images,
formatted text and links.

News
This item is a publication about actualities

Mainly on homepage to allow a specific communication with Visuals, animations and
texts

Videos
Videos will be hosted by YouTube then the link will be copy/paste to an administrable page to
be displayed on the site.
Using iFrames, users can embed the Youtube player in their rich content.
4.6.5.
Items
Various item types can be stored on the server and used or linked on standard pages.
This can be:
o Pictures
o Animations
o Audio files
o Documents
4.6.6.
Gallery
Tool enabling to display pictures and media on a user friendly way. Visitors are able to have
all eased to see, to read and download documents, to zoom picture and video as a pop-in, to
control the pictures and media (video, animation and sound).

4.7.
Various content section's layout
The content section can handle various predefined layouts.
4.7.1.
Home page content layout
The section is introduced by a title and subtitle at the left.
This title and subtitle can be updated using the back office.
In the right, 2 blocks are displayed:
o News, containing actualities short text and a “more”
button with link to the news complete text
o A thumbnails block. When clicking on a thumbnail,
the background image, title and sub-title will
change.
o A 3 link block with Web-callback, online quotation and localize our agency
Without any action from the visitor, the background, title and sub-title will automatically
change following thumbnails by order. The time between changes will be set from the back
office.
4.7.2.
Layout 1
The section is introduced by the title of the page
and the path to the current page.
1 to more boxes can be displayed. Each box
contains a subtitle and a picture which can be
clicked. When cursor is placed on, a description
appeared for a better understanding as an alt.
The boxes are organized in 3 columns.
6 boxes are mainly displayed in the page. Whenever there are more than 6 boxes, another
page is proposed to slide on or the next boxes are displayed after the 6 boxes then the
navigator scroll bar is necessary to use.
As in home page, with no action of the visitor, the content will slide to the 6 next boxes. Time
between changes will be set from the back office.
This section also contains a tool bar. The tools with 3 defaults (online quotation, web callback
and localize our agency) are always displayed centered. Administrator is able to add more
tools (add icon, add internal or external link, download). The icon will display a short
description text for a better understanding of the tool.
This section is illustrated by a background which is customizable from the back office

4.7.3.
Layout 2
The section is introduced by the title of the page
and the path to the current page.
2 parts are set together. In the left, a media slide
show is set which allow displaying picture, video,
animation and sound. In the right, a text zone is
able to allow inserting text and contents as links
4.7.4.
Layout 3
The section is introduced by the title of the page and the path to the current page.
This section is set with a free text zone which allows inserting text and contents as links. 4 to
5 templates will be proposed to back office user
4.8.
Interactions between pages of different layouts
Whatever the layout used, pages can be used as is or included in a tabbed layout.
With the tabbed layout, a maximum of 8 tabs can be display at a time and ordered as wished
using the back office.
Each tab can be named as wished by the users.

4.9.
Additional functionality & constraints
URL, Meta tags and keywords must be customizable by page.
Possibility to add PDF printing or send by mail link on contents.
Prohibition to copy pictures and others multimedia items by visitors. Caution, the only
protection that can be added to the site is to prohibit the right click. This only protects from
people that have low skills in web usage.
A site map will be able to be customized
The search tool has to be user-friendly and the results have to be significant
It is not possible to prohibit the use of menus in some browsers like Firefox which enables to
save every image from the tools menu then info on the page.
4.10. Online quotation, web callback and International map
C2iS will suggest a online quotation form, web callback form and international map which fit
to Touax’s needs and requirements
4.11. CRM Link
Data provided to the site by the customers when filling the web forms must be provided to
Touax's MS Dynamics CRM.
For security purposes, we strongly not recommend that Touax access the database to get the
information.
Multiple ways are possible to export data from the website to MS Dynamics CRM.
For example:



Sending data by formatted mail
Touax will need to develop a plug-in to automatically split the mail and create a
case or lead from it.
Send formatted data in a file on a FTP server
as in sending data by mail, Touax will need to develop a program to read data
and integrate it in the CRM.
Sending data by SOAP directly to MS Dynamics CRM
Caution, this solution needs additional development and testing time, if this
solution is implemented, it will be an additional project out of the present
functional specifications.
The choice between those possibilities is up to Touax. Once the choice made, depending on its
complexity, it will be included directly on the service or considered as a separated project.
This choice mainly depends on Touax's IT management recommendations.
