November is an exciting month for Macedonia as we thank
God for the privilege to celebrate 107 years of Macedonia and
19 years for Pastor Hamlin. Review all the details inside and
invite others to join you at all the planned services and activities.
There are numerous upcoming events and activities at MBC. Please take a
moment to carefully review the attached announcements, flyers, and
community information and make note of the appropriate deadlines.

Discipleship classes will be on break for the month of November. Classes will
resume in December.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION ON THE GET OUT TO VOTE CAMPAIGN is attached.
This is important information for all volunteers.

Place your SHARE order on or before Monday, November 9th at the Information Center,
on line at www.mbcva.ws or by calling the church office at 703-521-7663. During this
Thanksgiving season we ask that you purchase a SHARE package for someone in need
of a blessing. The November menu is attached. SHARE distribution is Saturday,
November 21st in the Multipurpose Room from 6:45—8:45am. Extra hand are always
welcome to assist in assembling the SHARE packages. You do not have to call anyone,
just arrive at 6:00am in the Multipurpose Room on the 21st.

MISSIONS AND OUTREACH MINISTRY
Foreign Missions Ministry will be collecting items each month to send to the
Dominican Republic. This month (November) items that will be sent are men’s casual
pants. These items will be accepted in the receptacle in the Narthex.
************
On Friday, November 6 from 9:45-11:30am, the IHCI (Interchurch Community
Health Initiative) network wants to encourage church communities and leaders to
attend Arlington and Alexandria’s Legislative Forum. This is an opportunity to meet
with local Senators and Delegates to advocate on aging related issues before the
General Assembly gets underway in January. Light breakfast refreshments will be
offered. The goal is to have a wide representation of members from the faith based
communities to voice their needs to advance legislation that supports the 60 plus
population. See the attached flyer with additional information.

Saturday, November 7, 2015 – Family Fun Fellowship, 4:00-8:00 p.m.
(Family Feud, Scrabble, Karaoke, Bid Whist, Spades and Children’s Activities)
Sunday, November 8, 2015 – Pastor Hamlin’s 19th Anniversary Celebration
(7:45 and 10:45am). Guest preacher, Dr. Darrell Macklin, Pastor, Saint Paul
Baptist Church, Washington, D.C.
Members, if you would like to be a blessing to Pastor Hamlin by way of notes and/
or cards, you may place them in the decorated box located in the Narthex. You
may also use the regular offering envelopes (checks payable to Macedonia Baptist
Church) or “Online Giving.”
Wednesday, November 11, 2015 – Anniversary Service, 7:00 p.m. Guest
preacher: Reverend Vernon C. Walton, Pastor, First Baptist Vienna, Vienna, VA.

On Saturday, November 14, 2015, we are going back to the Sight and Sound
Theater to see the Miracle of Christmas!! Join us, as we go back in time to
follow the extraordinary journey of Mary and Joseph and witness the greatest
birth in history, the miraculous birth of Jesus the Savior!
There is time to make plans to join us. See the attached flyer with all the details of
the trip or speak with Minister or Deaconess Pittmon or Bro. Nate Giles. You may
reserve your seat at the Information Center.

Dr. Hamlin and the Macedonia church body are invited to have an active part in
the “I’m Grateful Service” on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at Star
Bethlehem, 29068 Bethlehem Church Road, Triangle, VA 22172-0409. Dr.
Hamlin will bring the preached word and Unity in Worship will render the music.

Christmas Carolers are needed for Saturday, December 19, 2015. Join us in
singing Christmas carols throughout the neighborhood and in delivering MBC
Christmas cards. Hot chocolate will be provided to the carolers. Let’s share the
reason for the season! See the attached flyer and you may contact either Minister
Tonia Heggs or Sister Karen Brown for more details.

The Event Planning Ministry is still looking for servants to be a part of this
Ministry. If you are interested in assisting with the planning of all MBC events,
please send an email to [email protected] or contact the church office.
Building Christian Leadership
The Usher Ministry is currently seeking devoted servants to be a part of our
Ministry. As Christians, and especially as Ushers, we are representing Christ.
Colossians 3:17 says, "And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of
Jesus Christ." If you are interested in becoming a vital part of this ministry, please
contact Evelyn Jordan, Coordinator or the Church Office.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Arlington Branch NAACP - President, Karen Nightengale
Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00pm at the Walter Reed
Community Center, 2909 16th Street, S. Arlington, VA 22204, phone:
703-920-1100. All are welcome……..It takes everyone to lift up a community.

The NCSC will collect new and gently used men's, women's and children's coats
from now until November 6. See the attached flyer. All donations will be
professionally cleaned by Presto Valet Dry Cleaners of Alexandria, located at 1623
N. Quaker Lane, Alexandria VA 22302. This is the 4th year they have donated their
services to this event!! Please drop off donations at the NCSC (2229 S. Shirlington
Road, Arlington VA 22206). A receptacle has been placed in the Narthex at MBC to
receive donations. Call 703-229-5650 or email [email protected] for arrangements
for pick-up of large donations or to become a donation site! Every coat donated
will find a new home here in Arlington and will help keep our friends and
neighbors warm this winter!
Bible Study Schedule
7pm
Each 1st Wednesday is Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouraged and
invited to attend.
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month Pastor’s Bible Study is open to everyone.
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month Pastor’s Bible Study is open to everyone.
Each 4th Wednesday is Young Adult Bible Study.
The 5th Wednesday of each month is Leadership Night. All leaders of MBC will
meet with Pastor Hamlin.

responsible to know where your children are at all times. If you permit them to leave you
for restroom breaks, etc., they must return to you at an appropriate time and not be left
unsupervised. We appreciate your cooperation.
