In addition to her support of the Little Theatre, Laura is a generous supporter of many other SLO County non-profit organizations, particularly our local humane societies. Maurice & Susie Wedell Season 2015-2016 21 Cast Casey Canino (Fraulien Kost) marks her second Little Theatre appearance following her debut earlier this season as Catherine in The Foreigner. Casey, who earned her BFA in Musical Theatre at Cal State Fullerton, has performed with numerous West Coast companies including The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Santa Maria’s PCPA, Performance Riverside, and Sacramento’s New Helvetia Theatre. Among her favorite roles are Natalie in Next to Normal, Wendla in Spring Awakening, Rosemary in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Holly in The Wedding Singer, and Celia in As You Like It. Many thanks to the wonderful cast and crew! Kerry DiMaggio (Lulu/Kit Kat Girl) has thoroughly enjoyed exercising different muscles – literally and figuratively – to prepare for Cabaret. Kerry holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Cal Poly, where she acted in The Crucible, Animal Farm, and The Heidi Chronicles among others. She has also performed in PCPA’s The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, and in A Christmas Carol at The Great American Melodrama. Favorite Little Theatre shows include Singin’ in the Rain, Oklahoma, and Watergate. Kerry also serves as Education Director for the Academy of Creative Theatre (ACT), the Little Theatre’s program for young performers. Much love to Gramma Toni, who also shared a passion for Cabaret. Jackie Edwards (Fraulein Schneider) is honored to be part of a dazzling show featuring so many talented performers. Jackie, who earned her BFA in Theatre from Pacific Lutheran University, has had many enjoyable roles, but her fondest was Aldonza in Man of La Mancha where she met her wonderful husband Phil. Jackie has performed in a variety of Central Coast shows including Some Enchanted Evening at the Little Theatre, Carmen with Opera SLO, Les Miserables with Chameleon Productions, and most recently as Mrs. Potts in Kelrik Productions’ Beauty and the Beast. Mike Fiore (Cliff) is happy to be working in his hometown again. He was last on the SLO Little Theatre stage in 2014 as Cheche in an Ubu’s Other Shoe staged reading of Anna in the Tropics. He also has enriched various other productions over the years at The Great American Melodrama and PCPA. Mike is grateful for the opportunity to perform again for the Little Theatre’s discerning audiences. Chris Forrer (Bobby) is excited about his Little Theatre debut, and grateful for this talented cast’s generous support. For the past two years, Chris has been the directing intern at Santa Maria’s PCPA, where he directed the Education Outreach Tour production of Tomás and the Library Lady in 2014. Before moving to the Central Coast, Chris earned a degree in Theatre Arts from Linfield College (Oregon), where he directed, designed, and acted in more than a dozen productions. Love always to Daphne, my fiancé. 22 San Luis Obispo Little Theatre Cast Gregory Gorrindo (Ernst Ludwig) has appeared in several Little Theatre mainstage productions including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, Some Enchanted Evening, and Lend Me a Tenor; in the After Hours productions of My First Time, We’re Canceling Cable (And Other Empty Threats), and in several Ubu’s Other Shoe readings. Also on the Central Coast: Into the Woods, and Les Miserables with Chameleon Productions, four seasons with the Central Coast Shakespeare Festival, and many shows with the Shakespeare company Exit Pursued by a Bear. He received his training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Katie Gucik (Texas/ Chanteuse/Kit Kat Girl) grew up in Ohio and is currently the Company Manager for Santa Maria’s PCPA. She has previously worked at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Central City Opera and Cleveland Play House. A trained classical singer, Katie recently performed in Little Theatre’s production of The Music Man as Zaneeta. Other Little Theatre shows include Some Enchanted Evening , The Sound of Music, We’re Canceling Cable (And Other Empty Threats) and Ubu’s Other Shoe staged readings. Warmest thanks to the cast and crew for this experience. Shaley Gunther (Helga/Kit Kat Girl) is making her second appearance on the Little Theatre stage after a season-long hiatus since her 2014 appearance in Play On, A Suzy Miller Dance Spectacular. Shaley has also enjoyed working behind the scenes as backstage crew for Little Theatre productions, most recently for A Christmas Story. Shaley has also appeared in Cuesta College productions, including Pool ‘63 and Xanadu. Holly Halay (Sally Bowles) couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated and professional group of artists with whom to share her first Little Theatre experience. Holly has appeared in PCPA productions of My Fair Lady (ensemble), The Penelopiad (Melantho), Spring Awakening (Thea) and in various other PCPA conservatory projects including Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also has appeared in Stockton Civic Theatre productions of Hairspray (Penny Pingleton) and Grease (Rizzo), and in San Joaquin Delta College’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Schwartzy). Thank you, dear audience, for allowing us to share this story with you. Life is a cabaret ol' chum so come to the Cabaret! Season 2015-2016 23 Cast Michelle Hansen (Ruby/Kit Kat Girl) appreciates the opportunity to work with this talented cast and crew. A recent P90X fitness graduate and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Certified Practitioner, Michelle enjoys eating lean proteins and analyzing how those around her display their inborn personality preferences. Previous Little Theatre involvement includes Assistant Choreographer for The Music Man, Bebe Benzenheimer in A Chorus Line, Cindy Lou Huffington in The Marvelous Wonderettes, Starshine in My Generation, and Gertie Cummings in Oklahoma! She thanks Zach Johnson, Suzy Newman, and John Battalino for their guidance and encouragement. Nicole Holst (Rosie/Kit Kat Girl) is grateful to be playing one of her dream roles and to be reunited with her SLO Little Theatre family. This is Nicole’s second Little Theatre season, her debut being last year’s Singin’ in the Rain (Featured Dancer). Prior to this, Nicole performed in New York for seven years as a singer-songwriter and dancer-choreographer while producing Off Broadway shows. She has a BA in Dance from Cal State Long Beach and has performed in everything from ballet companies to bluegrass bands and, luckily, cabaret shows. Enjoy and leave your troubles behind! Amanda Johnson (Fritzie/Kit Kat Girl) is a re-localized San Luis Obispoan. Having returned from a recent stint at Humboldt State University in Arcata where she majored in dance and minored in music, she is trying her hand at musical theater. Fritzie is her first SLO Little Theatre role. John Mackey (Max) is pleased to be working with another group of fun and energetic professionals in his fourth Little Theatre production. Previous roles include John Birt in Frost/Nixon, The Diction Coach in last year’s Singin’ in the Rain, Sheriff Locke/Traveling Salesman in The Music Man, and backstage tech for The Foreigner. He is grateful to his family for supporting his need for the spotlight – and for listening to him mutter lyrics and lines to himself for weeks at a time. Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome. Emily Segal (Susie/Kit Kat girl) is excited to return to the company that introduced her to the world of musical theatre when she was five years old. Even though Emily is pursuing a medical degree, certain casting calls must be answered, and Cabaret is among them. Other favorite shows include Grease, Gypsy, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Emily, who earned her B.A. in comparative literature at UC Santa Barbara, also sings, writes songs and plays piano and guitar. She is indebted to her family and friends for enduring years and years of her singing, dancing and acting exercises. 24 San Luis Obispo Little Theatre Cast Michael Siebrass (Herr Schultz) is appearing in his second Little Theatre musical, the first in which he sings. Michael has been deeply involved in Little Theatre productions since 2002. His acting credits include Camelot, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Taking Leave, Spinning into Butter, and It’s a Wonderful Life. Director credits include Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, Inherit the Wind, and Art. He is founder and artistic director for Ubu’s Other Shoe, a Little Theatre program of staged readings. In 2015, Michael received the Claire Gates Lifetime Achievement Award for his artistic contributions. He hopes you enjoy the play. This schnapps is for you! Toby Tropper (Emcee) is very happy to return to the Little Theatre stage, previously playing Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile and David Frost in the Ubu’s Other Shoe reading of Frost/Nixon. This past year he performed in several Great American Melodrama productions. He has performed with other California companies including PCPA, the Rubicon Theatre Company (Ventura), and The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company (Thousand Oaks). In 2014, Broadway World Los Angeles named Toby Best Featured Actor in a Play (Touring Production) for his work in Rubicon Theatre’s Noises Off. Originally from Ventura, Toby is a proud graduate of PCPA (2013). Taking Center Stage Every Thursday San Luis Obispo County’s News and Entertainment Weekly www.NewTimesSLO.com | 805.546.8208 Season 2015-2016 25 Crew Phil Edwards (Props) loves supporting the cast by creating those tools essential to all shows, props and other things. He has been involved in all aspects of theater operations, from on stage to backstage and in the lobby somewhere. By day he works in the music industry supporting and administrating a music electronics company. Love to wife Jackie, aka Frau Schneider. David Linfield (Set Design) designs all of the Little Theatre’s Mainstage productions. The theater bug bit David in 1990 when an audition notice for a community theater production caught his fancy. Over the years, he has migrated away from performing onstage to behind the scenes, embracing technical stagecraft as his calling. David’s educational background in graphic design and his work experience in retail display and housing construction have blended together nicely to inform his passion for designing and building sets. Keith Wetzel (Costume Designer) has been designing, building, renting and selling costumes on the Central Coast for almost 30 years. While co-owner of Costume Capers, Keith kept San Luis Obispo looking good from Mardi Gras to Halloween and all points in-between.
