Provide a Mini-Olympic event for Managers and Crews to demonstrate their talent and skills. Inculcate team spirit and teamwork. To encourage the people to not only work hard but also play hard, be competitive to beat the competition. ASC 2014 The competition was held at MB Genting Grand Hotel in November 2014 with a total of 8 teams from various regions who participated in the events. 8 teams from our whole nation that participated in ASC 2014 : Southern (2 teams), Central (2 teams), Northern (2 teams), Sabah (1 team) and Sarawak (1 team). Participants of the retreat include CFO, Mr David Liew, Business Director, Mr Michael Liew, General Manager, Mr Daryl Ng, Operations Managers, Area Managers and Training Team from MB Headquarters. With good teamwork and support from others, we can achieve greater heights without fear and worry The main objectives of the retreat are to allow participants to unwind, recharge, build a stronger teamwork and positive mental strength to take on the challenges ahead. Marrybrown celebrated its first collaboration with Universal Studio for the release of Jurassic World movie premiering June in Malaysia. The campaign is designed to add an element of excitement and spark in the lead-up to one of the most anticipated seasons of the year, Summer, associating with summer blockbusters Jurassic World. Campaign communication consisted of two TVCs, movie trailer type teasers and online videos, along with print, point-of-sale, collectibles and an online photo contest, Eat-like-a-dinosaur on Marrybrown’s official social media platforms – Facebook, WeChat and Instagram. “We are committed to create memories for families. Jurassic Park movie was a sensation back in 1990s and collaborating with Universal Studios to premiere Jurassic World this year allows us to share our consumers’ enthusiasm of dinosaurs. We’d like to reward our consumers with our awesome and unique Marrybrown’s Jurassic World collectibles,” said Dato’ Joshua Liew, Marrybrown’s CEO. Everyone’s Favourite Cat & Mouse Tom & Jerry have delighted generations of fans and continue to do so to this day, after 75 years on our screens. In the year that celebrates the 75th anniversary of Tom and Jerry, Marrybrown partnered with Warner’s Brother to release a series of Tom & Jerry merchandise such as kids’ water tumbler, lunch box and stationery set. NEW DIGITAL MEDIA We are proud to announce that we have launched Marrybrown’s Official WeChat Account! After joining Facebook in 2012, Marrybrown decided to take part in the WeChat adventure. WeChat have over 600 million users worldwide and up to 90% of Malaysia’s smartphone users are registered to its mobile social communication application WeChat. It allows us to share and broadcasting our latest Advertising and Promotional activities. It is a unique way to engage with our customers and fans. 09 Marrybrownians Let’s welcome our new family members! We’re expanding our team in headquarters to better serves our customers, franchisees and partners. After going through 45 days understanding Marrybrown and 21 days of Field Training by Area and Operations Manager, I’m currently in charge of 37 outlets in the Central region with support from 4 Area Managers. Marrybrown have a wonderful and strategic system for People Development and Operation Executions. “Something Different” is not just a mere tagline. It upholds the true identity of Marrybrown. I’m proud to say that I’m a member of this Marrybrown Organisation where it all started by Malaysians. I’ve worked in 5 different organizations previously but none pars up to my present job at Marrybrown. Finally, I would like to thank Marrybrown for giving me this opportunity. “A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected.” Mr. Mega Operations Manager Mr. C K Chow had joined Marrybrown in June 2015 as the Head of Human Capital. Together with the management team, he will facilitate and coordinate the functions of human resource management, training and development and work towards building Marrybrown Academy. Mr. Chow was born, grew up and had his basic 12 years education in Johor Bahru. Being a local boy of Johor Bahru, he is familiar with and also well connected to the local community. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in USA with an honour degree in business and was nominated “The Best Marketing Student of The Year 1996”. Mr. Chow has a total of 19 years professional working experience which mainly encompasses human resources planning to building human talent and uplifting. Before joining Marrybrown, he was the Chief Executive of a college in the heart of Johor Bahru city, offering various Diploma courses from accounting and business to graphic design. He managed to double the student population, move the college to brand new premises, and achieved the highest profit contribution campus among 12 campuses nationwide. Besides his professional achievement, Mr. Chow was also the secretary of the Welfare Services Group in the Red Crescent Society Johor Bahru, participating in many charitable activities and was actively involved in the major events organised by the Society. He is a person who always thinks positively and has the willingness to share. Being a certified open water diver, he believes in the “buddy system” where success doesn’t come just in you alone but in taking care of your buddy so success can be achieved together. By joining the legendary successful home-grown quick service restaurant, Mr. Chow is looking forward to put in his efforts to grow together with Marrybrown to a world class standard in the international platform where both can achieve new heights.
