For Greater Bands 5K The Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association (TBSAA) is sponsoring a 5K Run/1-­‐Mile Walk to raise money and support our K-­‐12 public school instrumental music programs in the Maryland & Washington DC area. Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority is an organization that focuses on serving our college and university bands. As bands men and women, we know what a difference and joy that having band in our lives brings and want to foster its continued growth. We ask you to please support the race and join us in involving students, teachers and parents for a fun event filled with music, prizes and more! Race Information Registration – Registration is open to all school-­‐aged children to adults. Registration may be completed by mail or online at www.forgreaterbands.org. All mailed registrations must be postmarked no later than April 13th. Online registration closes on April 17th. Check-­‐In – 9 a.m. Race Starts – 10 a.m. Fees -­‐ (Includes For Greater Bands 5K Race T-­‐Shirt) Before April 1st : Students-­‐$20/Adults-­‐$30 After April 1st: Students-­‐$25/Adults-­‐$35 Race Day: Add $5 to registration (Race t-­‐shirts may not be available) All registered participants that complete the course will be automatically registered to win one of several great door prizes. Parking/Transportation – Parking is available on-­‐sight at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Schools unable to request transportation from their local school districts can request pick up from a prominent location that will service several schools. Please contact the race director for transportation assistance. Beneficiaries – Each registered school or a school designated by individual participant will receive a portion of the final proceeds based on the percentage of registered participants. Therefore, if a school has 25% of the registered race participants they will receive 25% of the race’s profit.
