Five gold medals for Tikveš
Competing with more than a hundred samples of wine made by reputable wine producers in the region, our wines won five gold medals at the Beowine 2011 Wine Fair in
Belgrade. All wines produced by the Tikveš Winery and presented at the fair, Bela Voda,
Barovo, Alexandria Cuvée White, Chardonnay Special Selection and Roze Classic were
the gold medal laureates.
The signing of the contract with the company Knjaz Miloš, which officially took over the
distribution of Tikveš wines and brandy in the market of Serbia, completed our winery’s
successful presentation at the fair.
- The markets in the region are particularly important for our winery because it is where
most of our export goes. We were really pleasantly surprised to see how the visitors of
the fair embraced not only the innovations such as Bela Voda and Barovo, but also, the
rejuvenated classic wines - said George Petrushev, General Manager of Tikveš Winery.
Dear readers,
Again, our unique flavours have been crowned with gold, winning the hearts of the bon vivants. Unforgettable events
marked the period behind us, and the awards are another confirmation of our commitment to investment in quality,
assortment and visual identity of our products which conquer the regional markets.
“Excitement for all senses" is the story that speaks of Tikveš and of Macedonia, the story that not even the most
demanding wine consumers could resist. Our winery and our wines, reflecting the distinctive taste of our region have
always supported cultural events, especially those which aspire to go beyond the limits of time and excite the
audience.
Our winery is always open to all our friends, for all who wish to learn how premium tastes are produced.
Stimulation for all senses
Following the initial launch at the market, oldest and the most renown production line of Classic wines, now rejuvenated, was
officially presented to many representatives of business and public life in the country, showing its latest visual and aesthetic
designs of the new marketing campaign. In late January, marking the beginning of the new media campaign, the video was
premiered on the small stage of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, in an atmosphere which tantalized the senses of Classic
lovers.
Following the legend “which stimulates all senses”, we created an ambiance of timeless classical elements: black and white
aesthetics, sounds of an authentic French chanson, countless ornaments and details.
The French famous chanson band “Naya”, playing its authentic music, transposed the surprised audience to the streets of
Paris. This exclusive event continued with the presentation of the Classic Calendar 2011, which completed the story of a
"classic extravagance”.
In the name of wine and love
This year, as the tradition goes, on the day that celebrates the
best things in life - love and wine, we opened the gates of our
winery in Kavadarci for all couples, wine lovers and
well-wishers. The guests who visited us in large numbers were
impressed with the warm reception and the enjoyable
atmosphere enriched with some good music and traditional
Macedonian food, paired, of course, with our premium wines.
On the same occasion between 11 and 14 February, the
citizens of our capital city swamped our stand located on the
city square, to mark the event “St. Valentine for St. Trifun”.
Music, love, wine and some delicious food marked this cultural
event, with some citizens having the opportunity to take a ride
in a carriage.
Concerts
Our wines and the “Dream duets”
Some values are universal and timeless, and people of good taste recognize them. Our
winery has been a promoter of such values for years. Hence, our support to the event called
“the concert of the decade” is not coincidental. The audience at the Sava Center in Belgrade
enjoyed both the concert of the virtuoso duo, Vlatko Stefanovski and Stefan Milenkovic, and
the wines Classic which were showing off their new package before our Serbian connoisseurs. An extraordinary mixture of a guitar and an electric violin, the classical sound of
Balkan folklore and rock music was enriched with the interpretation of Vasil Hadzimanov
who amazed the audience with his performance of traditional Macedonian songs.
The Tikveš Winery supported another unique couple who impressed the audience in
Skopje - the concert of Rade Serbedzija and Miroslav Tadic, who performed together for
the first time at the Univerzalna Sala. It was a unique New Year gift for those who love
exquisite music and wine. We couldn’t have chosen a better event to promote our latest
terroir wines, Barovo and Bela Voda. Rade Serbedzija had the opportunity to taste their
unique aroma, sipping a glass of red wine during the whole concert. The great artists
promoted their new album “Sometimes I come, sometimes I go”, accompanied on stage
by “New Cinema Band”, April Goutry, Christopher Garcia and Roy Estrada who used to
play with Frank Zappa.
The Tikveš Winery supports local
and regional wine culture
Lately, we have played a part in the Wine Ball organized by the Rotary Club from Banja
Luka. The aim of this ball was to promote wine culture and wine production in this region.
For five years now, our winery has been the main supporter of this event, an effort
awarded with Acknowledgment for a continuous fruitful cooperation. Many activities
aimed at educating young wine producers and grapevine growers preceded this Ball. Last
year, twelve grapevine growers and wine producers visited our winery, saw our vineyards
and received education on wine production in the biggest winery in the Balkans.
We have been working on promoting the wine culture in Macedonia for a long time. It is
our permanent commitment. Klemen Lisjak held a one-day lecture on wine at the M6
Educational Centre in early February. The audience was composed of 40 members of the
Tikveš Wine Club, established in November last year. The results of the wine evaluation,
done by the Wine Institute of Slovenia were also presented. The wine tasting was one part
of the education process. Such lectures are a continuation of the trainings which were
initially intended for restaurants. Mr. Lisjak holds a doctoral degree in oenology and has
been a member of the team of oenologists in the Tikveš Winery for several years.
Mr. Philippe Cambie has been the leader of the team of oenologists for over a year. This
year he was honoured with the title – the world best wine consultant for 2010, by Robert
Parker – Wine Advocate. Last month, Mr. Philippe Cambie presented the results of his
twelve-monthly engagement in the Tikveš Winery – the Tikveš portfolio for international
markets, the two latest wines, the Barovo White and Bela Voda White being two of them.
Mr. Cambie used this opportunity to emphasize what is necessary to improve the vine
growing, winemaking and the wine culture in Macedonia.
ROZE
The Fresh aroma of the spring
The typical crystal clear pink colour, the rich aroma of forest fruits, the perfect balance
of light and fresh taste are the features which make the Roze Classic so unique.
Specific soil and climatic conditions are needed to create this quality semi-sweet rosé
wine.
Sunlight during the vegetation period, altitude of 150-500 m and annual rainfall of
150-300 mm are the main prerequisites for growing the unique Kratosija quality grape
variety. Complex aromas are preserved thanks to the distinctive technological
procedure for production of white wines. This means that red Kratosija grape
undergoes a white wine production procedure that has a lower fermentation
temperature.
This wine is best paired with chicken, fish and seafood and is served at a temperature
between 12 to 14 C degrees.
Enjoy the unique taste of Roze Classic!
