RE: Laminate Flooring Formaldehyde Emissions Guarantee

Dear Valued Customers,
With the recent publicity on formaldehyde emissions from laminate flooring we would like to reaffirm our commitment
to compliance with formaldehyde emission standards during manufacturing of our laminate flooring. Low
formaldehyde emission wood panels have been a regulatory requirement in Europe for decades and for us who own and
operate both laminate and core board manufacturing facilities, are a standard specification.
All inhaus laminate flooring is manufactured in Germany by Classen which manufactures its own composite wood panels
and meets or surpasses the required formaldehyde emission levels established by regulatory bodies in both Europe and
North America. This includes the standards set by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). All of our inhaus products
are CARB Phase 2 certified. Our products are tested by an independent CARB approved Third Party Certifier (TPC) on a
quarterly basis. The TPC that we utilize is Entwicklungs – und Pruflabor Holztechnologie GmbH (EPH, www.ephdresden.de).
Classen applies the CARB Phase 2 standard to all laminate flooring products regardless of the country or state destined
for sale.
A requirement of the CARB standard is to label the product stating compliance and notification of the TPC. As an
example, note the highlighted area below on the label of our Dynamic Highlands Rustic Pecan.

The approved Third Party Certifier (TPC) of the Entwicklungs- und Prüflabor Holztechnologie GmbH
(EPH) with the Executive Order W-14-010 is contracted by the manufacturer (supervision contract
IVIDF/HDF-09-01-13) to perform the quarterly assessment of the factory production control (FPC) and
to carry out the stipulated formaldehyde tests by the accredited EPH test laboratory.
This evaluation is based on the test report:
Regulär TPC Supervision Report No. 04-2014, dated December 19th, 2014
This attestation confirms as a proof of continued TPC-certification the validity of the Initial
Certification No. CARB-09-07-03-02 and remains effective for the agreed surveillance period unless
the requirements and conditions under which this attestation has been issued have changed
considerably.
