She knew immediately that she had found her “home” when she had her first taste of olfactory training in the early days of her career. She completed her olfactive training at two of the most prestigious fragrance houses in the world. Duffy started her career with Firmenich and later Givaudan, where she learned the finer aspects of this fascinating industry. She was a senior account executive and her clients included the Estée Lauder Companies, Coty, and Unilever. She worked on luxury brands such as Tom Ford Beauty, as well as mass market launches for Dove. Duffy holds a B.A. in French and Business from SUNY at Albany. Facult y: Raymond Matts Raymond Matts, founder of the perfumery consultancy of the same name, has experienced and learned the many facets of the fragrance industry. Matts has held a range of positions covering all segments of the business, earning a truly global and prestigious background throughout his career. At Estée Lauder, Matts held the position of Vice President of Estée Lauder Fragrances Worldwide and was responsible for the strategic development and general management of the company’s global fragrance group, which includes Aramis, Tommy Hilfiger, Clinique, and Origin. Matts hold a B.A. in Cosmetics/Fragrance Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Learning tools adapted to olfactive practice The Olfactorium®: Miniature version of a perfumer’s organ, it allows olfactory illustrations of raw materials and perfumes specific to each training session (48 vials). Available for purchase. Class materials: A class notebook, technical files, and specific workbook for every training session. Cinquième Sens Certificate Program in Perfumery at Pratt Institute Career Tracks: • The Technique and Language of Perfumery – PMPF 310 • The Fragrance Sales Program (Selling Fragrances) – PMPF 320 Each track has a course that totals 18 hours. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the 18-hour course in either track.
