They are, first row from top,

Versatility from 14 returning

Culver's coaches plan to use

year by alumnus swimmer Will
iam G. Roth who broke a few
records himself at Culver. They
assigned six seniors, a junior and
two sophomores as the leaders of
this year's lineup.
Senior co-captain Joe Cumimings, Sabina, Ohio, also leads
one of the 80-man infantry com
panies on campus. Expected to
be the mainstay of the varsity,
he will swim the 200 and 400yard freestyle events and per
haps the freestyle relay.
He
holds the 400 free record at
4:35.8.
Co-captain Mike Schneider, a
senior from Elraira, N.Y., is also
a company commander. He will
compete in the 100-yard butter
fly, individual medley and the re
lays. Another senior' from Elimira, Hiram Smith, is expected
to be valuable in the 200-yard
freestyle and 100-yard back
stroke.
Although Bob King, a senior
from Cocoa Beach, Fla., is re
ferred to as a. "master' of all
strokes," the coaches think he
will excel in the
individual
medley, 100-yard breastroke and
butterfly, and the 200-yard free
style. An academic leader' in his
class, King also owns the 100yard butterfly record of 1:00.9.
Mark Krone, a senior from
Spencerville, Ohio, is expected to
continue to
break

records in the freestyle sprints
as he did last year. His success
is needed if the team is to fill
the gaps in the sprints left by
last year's captain Bill Brown.

WOMEN PAST 21
WITH BLADDER IRRITATION
Suffer M a n y Troubles
After 21, common Kidney or Bladder
Irritations affect twice as many women
as men and may make you tense and
nervous from too frequent, burning or
itching urination both day and night.
Secondarily, you may lose sleep and
suffer from Headaches, Backache and
feel old, tired, depressed. In such irri
tation, CYSTEX usually brings fast,
relaxing comfort by curbing irritating
germs in strong, acid urine and by anal
gesic pain relief. Get CYSTEX at drug
gists. See how fast it can help you.

minds
Santa Claus
and his
phase of Chritmas w i l l reign
h i g h from now u n t i l the cher
ished moment
on Christmas
day when the gifts are opened
under the tree.
This fact, whether we like i t
or not, is the product of our
own way of l i v i n g and b r i n g i n g
up the children. This phase of
Christmas is p a r t i a l l y a product
of the first phase w i t h the con
tinued push aimed at the young
for their acceptance and choice
of gifts. However, more and
more of this also comes f r o m
the "diffrent" way of life now
over years ago.
With
the
Christmas season getting longer
each year, and the commercial
aspect, i t cannot be blammed
on the home life as much as the
business life.
The t h i r d phase of Christmas
is the oldest . . . almost 2000
years old. This is the real rea
son
for Christmas.
Christ's
b i r t h . I t was at this time that
the gift giving was started as
three kings so-honored a new
born babe who was given to the
people of the world for their
salvation. The religious story
of Christmas is k n o w n by all,
and simple as i t may be, is the
most beautiful story ever told.
The important part of this
phase of Christmas is that we
all
remember
it. Not
just
Christmas eve or i n the Christ
mas programs and services of
the respective churches, but a l l
through the Christmas season.
Christmas
is coming. I t is
coming i n a l l three of
the
phases.
A l l three are
an
established part
of our lives,
and Christmas cannot be the
Christmas we know without a l l
three. There is time for a l l
three, but be sure you take
time
for a l l as one
with
out the other means you are
missing part of the dearest time
of the year.

M i c h i g a n St.,
We cannot expect to see
God in this world. We cannot
take a n empty bag to church
a n d return with a supply of
faith to c a r r y us through the
following week.
Yet happiness and strength
for living begin with the sim
ple b e l i e f in G o d and are
nourished in the practice of
Christianity.
It is not necessary to walk
always in darkness. But we
'must open our eyes to see;
and, we must open our hea ts
to believe.
