January 2016 Newsletter Volume 14, Issue 1 Learn About Missions While Having Fun Mark your calendars now for Missions Emphasis Week February 14 – 17, 2016 Sunday: The children’s Sunday school will have a guest speaker and there will be a guest speaker for AM service with potluck at noon Missions Emphasis Week 2016 Sunday Evening: 6:00 pm- A meal will be served by the Missions Team with music and guest speaker to follow in The Café In this issue Monday Evening: 6:00 pm- Around the World in Eighty Minutes with finger foods and dessert Tuesday: 11:30 am- Ladies Luncheon in The Café with a guest speaker Tuesday Evening: 7:00 pm- Men’s Gathering with Boone Cornerstone Church. The meal will be at The Lucky Pig in Ogden Wednesday Evening: The AWANA kids and youth will have a guest speaker • Men’s Conference • Calendar • Awana • Youth Winter Conference • Family Life Skills Class Men’s event slated for Jan. 30 A team of Christian men who bill themselves as “The Blue Collar Tour for Christ” will headline the 2016 MAC Men’s Conference. The all-day event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30, at Missionary Alliance Church. The conference leaders include Chris Barr, a popular breakout leader at the 2015 Men’s Conference. Joining Barr will be Jeff Johnson, Nate Noble and David Kessler. The theme of the 2016 conference is Men at Work, a focus based on Colossians 3:23-4: “In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which he promised to his people. You are serving the Lord Christ.” The Men’s Conference will begin with worship music and include a noon lunch. Bring a family member or friend to the 2016 MAC MEN’S CONFERENCE 9 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. ▪ Saturday, January 30 Coffee time and registration begins at 8 a.m. Register at a designated table in the narthex or by calling 515-325-6210. Registration fee: $25 which includes a noon lunch. Jan. 13 – Double Token Night and BARF Night Spark Girls’ Awana Store. Jan. 20 – Parents & Grandparents will be our guests (1 for each guest.) Spark Boys’ Awana Store. Jan. 27 – Return Adopt-A-Club Coin Tube!!! Every $10 Coin Tube that is returned will help one child in South America to have an Awana uniform, Awana book & Bible (and you’ll also receive a 5 token for each coin tube). T&T Boys’ Awana Store @ Handbook Time. All Jr. High & Sr. High students are welcomed to join us for Winter Camp 2016! This is going to be an action-packed weekend with lots of highenergy activities and opportunities to grow in Christ. Come camp with your friends and participate in the exhilarating seasonal activities- including a 25 foot ice-climbing wall, broomball on ice, and snow tubing! The registration cost is $50 per student, which must be turned in (along with your registration form) no later than January 6th.
