Miss Moorhouse 1965 Smooth Collie classification dropped. 1979 References to Smooth Collies deleted from club’s rules. 1969 Rough Collie Breed Standard amended to include colour clauses 1964 Kennel Club formed a strong association with the British Veterinary Association (BVA) 1965 Eye Scheme introduced for PRA 1969 Diplomas and Rosettes introduced for clubs appointing judges from the Collie Association’s Judges List. 1968 South West section formed and became the second Open Show. Mrs A Speding was appointed as Secretary. 1969 South East Section proposed and disbanded. 1966 Rough Collie Breed Council formed 1967 First annual report of RCBC by Alan Jefferies (Jefsfire). Still continued today and well received Kennel Club Charitable Trust Launched 1985 Kennel Club establishes Young Kennel Club catering for exhibitors between ages of 6 & 24 Kennel Club Charitable Trust founded, donating to projects such as canine rescue, dogs for disabled and supports research into canine diseases 1985 Kennel Club unify Breed Standards to align with those across the World. 1982 Crufts increases to three days 1987 Crufts increases to four days During this era, all of the Collie Association Championship Shows were stage at the Watford Leisure Centre. Eleanor is the excellent “WELCOME” to all of the Collie Association’s shows. This venue has proved to be a success, as it is well placed in the Midlands and accessible to most exhibitors. 1994 60th Anniversary Show 1992 Anti Dog Lobby Collie Association actively participated in promoting the positive aspect of dog ownership in general, not just collies ,via education in schools 1991 Crufts moved to NEC, Birmingham Featured in Guinness Book of Records World largest dog show with 22,973 entries (Conformation); 28,000 overall with 160,000 visitors. Kennel Club acquires Stoneleigh 2008 Rough Collie Breed Council’s website launched, designed by Dareen Bridge who had been appointed Breed Archivist in 2005 2002 Jasand Medals introduced in memory of Mrs J Round, awarded annually. Introduction of new club logo – designed by Mr David Round Roll of Honour launched celebrating accomplishments of members during current show year 2006 Kennel Club agreed to Challenge Certification rotation between Rough Collie Breed clubs. Ayrshire Collie were the first to rotate in 2007, with British Collie in 2008. East Anglian Collie kindly agreed to switch to 2009 to enable the Collie Association to celebrate its 75th Anniversary year.
