Application Registration of Title
Received by the Kennel Club 2nd December 1933
Reasons for application for registration and adopting the
proposed title :
“The try and again made the Collie one of the popular
British breeds. The Association to be a club with members
drawn from the British Isles, but the members of the
committee, other than the President to be elected from
members living within 100 miles of London and to foster
interest in the breed by guaranteeing classes for them in
districts where there are members”.

open shows were benched at this time.
This arrangement lasted until 1964 until the
increase in entries made the arrangement
impracticable.

Championship Show at the Sports
Connexion, Ryton-on Dunsmore,
Coventry. This venue has proved
to be a success, as it is well placed
in the Midlands and accessible to
most exhibitors.

Collie Association actively participated in
promoting the positive aspect of dog ownership
in general, not just collies ,via education in
schools

Crufts moved to NEC, Birmingham
Featured in Guinness Book of Records
World largest dog show with 22,973
entries (Conformation); 28,000 overall
with 160,000 visitors.
Kennel Club launched Good Citizen Dog Scheme

Kennel Club agreed to Challenge
Certification rotation between Rough
Collie Breed clubs. Ayrshire Collie
were the first to rotate in 2007, with
British Collie in 2008. East Anglian
Collie kindly agreed to switch to 2009
to enable the Collie Association to
celebrate its 75th Anniversary year.
The Collie Association are due to
rotate in 2010
