Cheryl Eng-Link - Hawaii Number of Year in Hobby: 30 Breeds Raised: NZ, EA, FA, HL, DH, RX, MR, JW, FL, ND Fave Moment: Most proud of serving the ARBA in and all assignments that have been entrusted. One of the first judges to judge in Nova Scotia. ARBA Involvement: Current ARBA Standards Committee Chair; Former ARBA Education Committee Chair; Former editor of the NYNDRC newsletter; Former Educational Chair for the ANDRC. Interesting “Non-Rabbit” Fact: After 37 years, retired teacher/principal for the state of New York. Was the Principal at 3 different schools. Does educational consulting for a number of schools in Hawaii. Enjoys raising orchids and growing tropical fruits. ARBA Involvement: Former President of the Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty club, Chairman of the ARBA Constitution Committee. Interesting “Non-Rabbit” Fact: Scott received an Ivy League Law degree from Columbia University, and now works in corporate law. I NTRO TO C OW P ALACE The historic Cow Palace serves as host of the 2015 West Coast Classic. Built in 1941, San Francisco’s Cow Palace has hosted thousands of events from the Pan-Pacific International Agriculture Exposition, to the Republican National Convention, to the still celebrated, Grand National Livestock Show and Rodeo. The longstanding commitment to the exhibition of animals spans eight decades. The spacious venue serves today as the annual site of the Golden Gate Kennel Club Dog Show. Conveniently located near Highway 101, the San Francisco International Airport, and downtown San Francisco, the Cow Palace will prove to be not only a rabbit show, but destination. P ARKING 1. Parking passes are required for this event. Cost is $12. This is for the entire run of the event and allows for in and out privileges. 2. Parking passes must be ordered with your entry. A very limited number will be available at the gate. Please indicate with your entry if you need a parking pass. 3. All WCC attendees MUST ENTER ONLY THROUGH GATE 5 ON GENEVA AVE. See map for Gate 5 location. 4. When you arrive for the first time give the gate attendant the name you entered under and if you have ordered a parking pass you will receive it at this time. S HOW R ULES 1. Due to a large anticipated entry, no chairs will be allowed in the showroom until after the start of the show. Once all animals are in, any available space can be used for chairs. Please cooperate with the show committee and fellow exhibitors to allow everyone to have an enjoyable time. 2. This is a two-day carry cage show, all cages must be waterproof. 3. This show will be governed by the latest and revised Official Show Rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Association Inc. Your entry indicates your acceptance of these rules. 4. All rabbits must be permanently and legibly tattooed in the left ear prior to showing. An ARBA licensed registrar will be available for ear tattoos as well as ARBA Registrations. 5. All rabbits are entered at the owner’s risk. Every precaution will be taken to safeguard and minimize hazards, losses and mistakes. Show personnel, judges, and the Cow Palace are in no way responsible for the death or injury to any person/animal. 6. West Coast Classic reserves the right to substitute judges as needed. 7. Exhibitors will be responsible for getting their rabbits to and from the judging table. There will be no re-judging due to late or missing animals, per ARBA Show Rules! 8. All animals must be healthy and in proper-sized transport cages to ensure the rabbits well-being. 9. All fees owed must be paid before the start of the show, or the West Coast Classic reserves the right to revoke your entries. All email entries must be paid in full upon arrival to the show. Should you not attend, you will still be billed for your entry. 10. Parents- Children MUST be under the supervision of an adult at all times! 11. Please - No Dogs! A WARDS Ribbons will be given for all breed shows 1st - 3rd place. Awards will be given to the Best of Breed and Best Opposite Breed winners with 10 or more shown in the breed, as well as awards for Best in Show, Reserve in Show, and Champion of Champions. W EST C OAST C LASSIC C UP This year’s big show will once again include the West Coast Classic Cup, a distinguished perpetual cup awarded to the top overall rabbit at the end of each year’s event. According to the West Coast Classic Show Committee, the award is a much needed and fitting recognition of the best of the best in one of the toughest competitions of the year. The non-circulating perpetual trophy is presented when all remaining judges converge on Sunday afternoon to select the one prized rabbit from Open Show Best in Shows, Youth Show Best in Shows, National Specialty Show Best of Breeds, and Local Specialty Show Best of Breeds. The impressive award was sculpted by artist Stan Sours, specially commissioned by California Rabbit and Cavy Shows, Inc, & sponsored by a grant from KW Cages. s !
