Reno is a vibrant city that is alive 24 hours of the day with something for every
visitor! Entertainment, elaborate shows, museums, performing arts, parks, and
shopping combine to make Reno a must-visit location for anyone. Tucked beneath
the cascading and breathtaking Sierra-Nevada Mountains, Reno is a high desert
city with a rich history in mining and early frontier life. In fact, downtown Reno is
home to the Truckee River Walk and Arts District, home to picturesque views of
waterfalls and a peaceful park. Check out the specialty shops, antique stores, and
culinary attractions while you’re down there too. For those who venture outside
of Reno, make sure you visit Virginia City and Sparks for an authentic taste of the
old West! If the great outdoors is more your style, a short drive to Lake Tahoe will
satisfy the most avid nature lovers with hiking trails, kayaking, and likely still some
winter sport opportunities. Whatever brings you to Reno, even if it’s solely to fulfill
your rabbit and cavy obsessions, Reno is the city to be this April!

Meet the Judges
Jim Rowland, Florida
Number of Years Involved in Hobby: 30 Breeds Raised: MR, CD, CA
Fave Moments: Winning many top honors with his rabbits including Best Of Breed at the 2005 Mini Rex
National Show in Indianapolis. For years, he dominated the Mini Rex fur classes at conventions and national
shows.
ARBA Involvement: Judging in Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and across the US and Canada
Interesting “Non-Rabbit” Fact: Jim is a very linear man who appreciates the mastery of neat and tidy and
believes that heavy starch is a necessity for a proper pair of jeans.
James Goodrich
Number of Years in the Hobby: 30 Breeds Raised: DT, TN, RX, RH, BH, MR, ND, ML, EA, White Crested,
American, American Satin, Abyssinian, Abyssinian Satin, Coronet cavies
Fave Moments: Best In Shows are always highlights, but one in particular was at the 2001 ARBA Convention
in San Diego when I won Best Cavy In Show with a White Crested - the only instance to date a White Crested
has won that award in Open at an ARBA Convention. I guess just listening to them all munch hay each night
is also an everyday favorite moment! And of course, traveling to some extraordinary as well as very “unique”
destinations for shows.
Interesting “Non-Rabbit” Fact: He breeds and currently shows Great Danes. James also teaches college level art
courses in Drawing, Design and Understanding Art. He is also an avid gardener.
Bryant Miller, Ohio
Number of Years Involved in Hobby: 15 Breeds Raised: NZ, HV, FW, CA, MR, HL, AC
Fave Moments: Winning multiple ARBA convention and spring national BOB and BOS wins in youth career
between multiple breeds. Winning over 100 Best in Shows since 2014 primarily with New Zealand Whites.
ARBA Involvement: Havana Rabbits Breeders Association, Judges Selection Committee member; for Youth
Liason/BOD membor of the HRBA; former President of the Ohio State Youth NZ Rabbit Breeders Association;
2011 ARBA Duke.
Interesting “Non-Rabbit” Fact: Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Buisness Economics at Miami University
in Ohio.

West Coast Classic Cup
The grande finale of the West Coast Classic is the awarding of the West Coast Classic Cup. The
winner is selected among all 2016 winners of Best in Show honors at the West Coast Classic. The
competition encompasses both youth and open all breed winners as well as specialty show winners.
It is truly one of the most unique awards in the rabbit hobby.
The competitors are evaluated by the judges
one final time and the judges award 6 points for
their top animal, 3 points for their runner up and
1 point for their third individual.
Previous winners are a “who’s who” of the
rabbit industry. This prestigious group includes
previous ARBA Convention Group and Best in
Show winners. The current title holder is Carol
and Kendall Green of California who dominated
WCC XII with an American Fuzzy Lop doe. It
became the third wool breed to win the award, in
addition to the being the third lop eared animal
to win. To date, Mini Lops and Havanas lead the
breed list with each having won the award twice.
We will all be enthusiastically waiting for the
coronation of this year’s champion at the end of
the weekend!
