What if health insurance
was smart enough to
help save lives?
Now it is. People expect their health insurance companies
to pay for their care. They don’t expect them to improve their
care. To lower the cost. And to make it easier. But that is
exactly what Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is doing. We’re
bringing doctors, hospitals and specialists together to
reduce life-threatening infections and medication errors.
That’s why for better care, you’re Better with Blue.

Dear Friends,
Welcome to this
performance of
Dixie’s Tupperware Party
in the Cabaret
at Theater Square.
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is thrilled to partner with the Pittsburgh CLO in
the Cultural District to offer you this intimate and enjoyable theater experience.
We are proud to be your host at the Cabaret at Theater Square, which is owned
and operated by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
In addition to this theater, the Cultural Trust’s Theater Square complex includes
the adjacent Backstage Bar, a 790-space parking facility, a centralized box
office where you may purchase tickets to any Cultural District performance,
a live broadcast studio operated by Classical WQED 89.3FM and the gastropub
Meat & Potatoes.
As our valued arts patron, we hope that you will have a pleasurable experience
at the Cabaret Theater. Our house staff is eager to answer your questions or
address any issues. Please don’t hesitate to ask them for assistance.
Enjoy tonig ht ’s per for mance of Dixie’s Tupper ware Par t y , back by popular
demand and presented by the Pittsbur g h CLO. We look for ward to seeing
you here ag ain at Theater Square, as well as our other world-class theaters ,
visual ar t g alleries and facilities located throug hout the Cultural District .
Welcome to the return of Dixie’s Tupperware Party, which this
time two years ago was another CLO Cabaret - and Pittsburgh - premiere. We can
barely contain ourselves that our favorite plastic-packin’ mama is back, but due to her
popularity, she’s here for a limited engagement only (Sept. 4 - Oct. 12), so if you like
her performance, tell your friends to get it while it’s hot. Whether you’re meeting
Ms. Dixie Longate for the first time today or you’re back for more, you’re in for some
long-lasting memories and equally durable souvenirs.
The legend of Dixie is that in 2001 she started hosting Tupperware parties in
Los Angeles, fast becoming a sensation among the housewives of Orange County
(not those Orange housewives – real housewives). In 2007, Dixie’s Tupperware Party
debuted Off-Broadway, winning her a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding
Solo Performance. Her star has been rising ever since, and today she’s a bona fide
hit with audiences the world over.
She’s a hard act to follow, but I am pleased to announce that post-Dixie we’ve another
exciting Pittsburgh Premiere debuting at the CLO Cabaret, straight to you from
Off-Broadway, where it just finished a successful one-year run. This original new
tuner stars two actors playing 13 roles (and the piano) in a madcap blend of music,
mayhem, and: Murder For Two (Oct. 22 – Jan. 18). Following Murder For Two, we’ll be
opening another comedy called Boeing Boeing, winner of the 2008 Tony Award® for
Best Revival of a play. Be on the look out for casting news to come. I’ll be directing,
in a dire attempt to stave off the return of the Polar Vortex with a force field of
hilarity. No pressure, right?
And let us not forget that the bounty of the season includes our annual production
of A Musical Christmas Carol, which plays just a block away at the charming Byham
Theater (Dec. 5-21). Now in its twenty-third year, this sentimental holiday musical
is a family-going tradition. Maybe this is the year to start making it yours?
As always, thank you for being here, and for supporting Pittsburgh CLO.
Enjoy the show!
Thank you for your patronage. Enjoy the show!
Sincerely,
J. Kevin McMahon

is performed without intermission

DIXIE LONGATE (Your Tupperware Lady) Hey
hookers, I’m Dixie Longate, America’s Favorite
Tupperware lady. I’m from Mobile, Alabama,
born and raised. What can I say, I’m a
southern girl through and through. I started
selling the fantastic Plastic crap in 2001 and
I have never had so much fun drinking for
free in my life. Within a year, I was one of
the top sellers in the nation because, well,
me and some plastic bowls, and a bunch of
drunk women somehow equals lots of sales.
I have 3 kids; Wynona, Dwayne, and Absorbine,
Jr. and 3 ex-husbands. All of ‘em have somehow
died, but I ain’t crying about it. I’m way too
busy traveling all over the place bringing
creative food storage solutions to your town.
My Tupperware party caught the eye of some
New York Theatre producers and in 2007, I
had a big opening in my own show, Dixie’s
Tupperware Party off-Broadway and got a
Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding
Solo Performance. I know, shut up, right!
I have now played in theaters far and wide
across these fruited plains as well as 4 other
countries with my show. Some of those
places I didn’t even realize had food. See
what I have learned by traveling so much.
I’m happy to be here partying it up with all
y’all this evening. Now grab a Tupperware
sippy cup and let’s have ourselves a party!
For more info or to see pictures of me doing fun
things, go to my website, www.DixieLongate.com
PATRICK RICHWOOD (Director) has been
associated with Dixie Longate since her
earliest days in the world of food storage and
is delighted to be collaborating on her quest
to save the world, one collapsible bowl at a
time! As a director, he has garnered critical
praise for his work in the one-person genre
including Dark Horse at the L.A. Theatre
Center, An Otherwise Empty Room at the Geary
Project, San Francisco, and Ishmael for the
Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Annex, Los
Angeles.
Kris Andersson (Playwright) Andersson
debuted Dixie’s Tupperware Party at the 2004
New York International Fringe Festival. Following
that run, he teamed up with playwright
Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl) and director
Alex Timbers (Rocky, Peter and the Star
Catcher) to create the Off-Broadway version
of the show at Ars Nova. The show received
the 2007/08 Drama Desk Award Nomination
for Outstanding Solo Performance. The show
has now become the longest-running OffBroadway tour of the last decade. His follow up
shows include Broken Sh*t and Baby Jesus, My
Bags Went Where?, No Instructions, and Dixie’s
follow up show, Never Wear A Tube Top While
Riding A Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things
I Learned While I Was Drinking Last Thursday
which is slated for a U.S. tour starting in 2016. RICHARD WINKLER (Lighting Designer) Over

Who’s Who
Our Mission
That men and women may work in safety
and that they, their families and their communities
may live in health throughout the world.
Pittsburgh CLO has been a driving force behind
the preservation, creation and promotion of live
musical theater since 1946. As one of the largest
regional musical theater organizations in the
country, it is fortunate for the yearly support of
nearly 200,000 audience members. In addition
to producing fresh new productions of Broadway
classics, the not-for-profit’s mission is to develop
new works and showcase emerging talent, and
has been credited with launching the careers of
numerous artists such as Rob Marshall, Kathleen
Marshall, Rob Ashford, Bernadette Peters, Shirley
Jones and Susan Schulman. The organization’s
dedication to musical theater extends beyond its
six-show summer season at the Benedum Center
to year-round programming at its 250-seat CLO
Cabaret Theater, which recently saw the world
premiere of Judge Jackie Justice, The Trials of
Love. Its extensive education efforts include its
CLO college intern program, New Horizons, and inschool programs such as the Gallery of Heroes and
Creative Vision. Other ongoing initiatives include
the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, CLO
Mini Stars, the Construction Center for the Arts, The
Richard Rodgers Award, and the acclaimed Gene
Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical
Theater. The organization also founded and coproduces the National High School Musical Theater
Awards. To further its mission to grow the art
form, it has invested in and co-produced musicals
currently on Broadway: Rodgers + Hammerstein’s
Cinderella, Matilda and Kinky Boots. Additionally:
Evita, The Addams Family, Come Fly Away, Catch
Me If You Can, 9 to 5: The Musical, Legally Blonde
The Musical, Curtains, Monty Python’s SPAMALOT,

of Big River. Pittsburgh CLO is a founding partner
of 5 Cent Productions/Elephant Eye Theatricals,
a producing consortium devoted to new musicals
such as The Addams Family and the upcoming
An American in Paris. In 2007, the organization
assisted Disney Theatrical Productions in launching
the National Tour of Disney’s High School Musical.
Pittsburgh CLO is the subject of a 2007 film
starring Jeff Goldblum titled “PITTSBURGH.”
