It gives us immense pleasure to address this message to all stakeholders of the ever growing
Saffrony family.
Since the last around one and a half years, incredible efforts are being made on almost all
fronts viz. faculty recruitment and development, laboratory enrichment, employability skills
enhancement, placements, modern teaching aids, campus development, etc. to make
learning more interesting and meaningful. It has yielded good dividends in the form of
improved results and enhanced institute ranking.
However, our endeavour is to go far beyond academics and curriculum. We strive for
holistic development of youth. Besides domain proficiency, we intend to impart value
education which will make students socially attentive and spiritually aware.
Though the future is full of promises and opportunities, it poses a few challenges
too. The world is changing at a very fast pace. We will have to be proactive,
anticipate changes ad take corrective action expeditiously. We would like to
thank the Board of Governors, Faculty, Administration Team, Industry Partners

Saffrony's visionary management have catapulted the College in a short span of few years from
being an average college to its present status where it is increasingly being acknowledged beyond
doubt, as an institution of academic excellence in all spheres.

conceptualise, research, design and offer sustainable solutions to address social, ecological,
technological and professional challenges facing the world today, thereby creating value for

JAY JALARAM EDUCATION TRUST (JJET)
Realising the pivotal role of quality technical education, few eminent personalities from diverse
streams came together to set up Jay Jalaram Education Trust (JJET) in 1999 as a charitable
organisation with ideals of selfless service to humanity, with a dream to play a catalytic role in
the socio-economic development of Gujarat, particularly of the Mehsana region.

Jay Jalaram Education Trust, in its noble endeavour to serve humanity through education, set
up Saffrony Institute of Technology Campus, comprising an Engineering College (SPBPEC)
and a Pharmacy College(BSPPC) in 2006. Both Institutions are approved by Government of
Gujarat, affiliated to Gujarat Technological University and recognised by regulatory bodies
like UGC and AICTE.

Saffrony’s Engineering College offers programs in Mechanical, Automobile,
Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer and Information
Technology Engineering. Our main strengths are our experienced, well

§ Five top rankers of EC dept got selected and started practical training at BSNL's Regional Telecom
Training Centre under AICTE-BSNL MOU for employability enhancement training (Silver and
Gold Engineer Certificate) under AICTE-BSNL MOU for during 2013-14
§ A student team of our Mechanical Engineering branch namely Mr. Sunny Bijani, Mr. Sanny Patel
and Mr.Bhavik Purohit, who are studying in their 6th Semester have achieved a technological feat
held on 21st February 2014. These students put in over 200 man hours and 750 trial runs, to
successfully build and demonstrate India's Largest Rube Goldberg Machine under 'Chain
Reaction' category in our national level Technical Festival which witnessed a participation of 800
students from over 60 engineering colleges, in a first of its kind attempt, creating a new record
category in itself in the Limca Book of Records.
The Diploma Engineering College facilitates students to develop
skills for vocational training, entry level jobs in industry and/or
lateral entry into reputed degree engineering programs.
Training in English language, soft skills and preparing for job
interviews is compulsory, a mentoring system ensures
individual attention to students and students, who benefit from
full fledged laboratory training for practical subjects.

Set up with a vision to cater to the growing demand for Gujarat's
thriving pharmaceutical manufacturing and research industry, BSPPC
offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral level programs in Pharmacy, with core
courses in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Analysis
and Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and
Pharmacological Cognosy.

Development through their 'Change The Mindset' modules for students and

2014). Saffrony is the only other Engineering Institute in Gujarat besides IIT Gandhinagar, to
undertake this initiative with iCreate Inc., which is an award winning NGO with a proven track

connected Activity Clubs at Saffrony provide a
structured system to execute our vibrant events calendar.
§ We encourage special interest clubs which look beyond the
traditional academic curriculum, take learning out of the books
and four walls of the classroom and plunge students into real life
leadership experiences so that they internalise such life experiences during
student life itself.
These provide a perfect spring-board to students to transform their
personalities and build their confidence.These clubs are:
§ STAS: Students Technical Association of Saffrony, a students' club which organises technical events
and initiatives.
§ SANGAATH : The extended family – group of Saffrony, comprising faculty and all staff, symbolising
our core values of 'togetherness, bonding and teamwork'
§ SPARSH : Saffrony's Alumni body comprising all past students and selected faculty members for
alumni interface, networking and annual meet.
§ The fully automated, spacious Library Resource Centre has a rich collection of
16,000 book volumes and subscribes to 60 national journals in the domain of
technology and engineering.
§ SOUL Library software and other software are used; the library is equipped with
adequate flat-screen computers and Wi-Fi internet for research and academic
use.
§ Services comprise reading facilities, video CD library, library orientation
program, newspaper reading, DELNET, inter library loan, subscriptions,

Saffrony provides expert faculty mentors for each student and lends motivational support to start

How to Study
How To Focus
IN THE ERA OF DISTRACTIONS
§ A student is one who knows 'how to study' and a good student is one who does this
sincerely, making studies a number one priority.
§ How to Study' is both a science and an art and those students and teachers who master
the psychological and methodological principles of learning achieve excellent results.
§ Students must know what time of day suits them best for studies. We believes in
creative, long lasting and conceptual grasping of subject content; traditional
methods of rote learning and one way lecture communication are long outdated.
§ Students must read their session content in advance, come prepared with an
initial reading on the session to be taught in class and through expert faculty's
interactive learning sessions, debates and discussions, the quality of
learning improves.
§ Habits of reading newspapers, science and technology journals, additional
reference books are a must in order to bridge curriculum knowledgegaps to keeping abreast of latest technological developments in each
and every field.

Ragging: Definition
RAGGING
WARNING
'Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or
Ragging is a Crime
by an act which has the effect of teasing, or handling with
rudeness any other student, in rowdy or undisciplined activities
which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological
harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or
asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not do in
the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame
or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a
junior or any other student'.
Saffrony Anti Ragging Policy
Students will be required to give an undertaking in the prescribed Performa
which is to be filled up and signed by student and his parent/guardian to the
effect that he/she is aware of the Institute's approach towards ragging and
the punishment to which he/she shall be liable, if found guilty of ragging.
All the students admitted to the institute will have to observe and abide by
the discipline rules prescribed by the Institute and he / she will submit to
the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Head of the Institution and other
competent officers or authorities or bodies of the Institute as the case
may be and in this respect he / she has to submit the declaration in the
Performa at the time of admission.
The Anti ragging committee constituted for this purpose by the Institute
is empowered to take an immediate action against any untoward
action and also to counsel the fresher. Students seeking admission shall
have to furnish undertaking in this regard.
To enhance familiarity and to acclimatize the fresher to the academic and social
environment of the campus, the institute organizes an orientation session in the first
week of the new academic calendar.
