MEET AARON DOWNING
We invite you to learn a few facts about our
new seminarian, Aaron Downing:
Home Parish: St. Peter, South Beloit, Illinois
Fun Fact: I played the Flute, Baritone, and
trumpet in middle school.
Favorite Saints: St. John Vianney and St.
John Paul the Second Our Lady of Fatima
Hobbies: bowling, archery, signing, fishing,
cooking, etc.
My parents, Edward and Theresa Downing
have three children of whom I am the youngest. My older brother, Tom lives at home with
my parents and my middle brother, John
lives in Davenport, Iowa. I grew up in Roscoe,
Illinois, near Beloit, Wisconsin. I came back
to the Catholic faith my sophomore in high
school. After graduating from Hononegah
Community High School in 2011, I entered
seminary for the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin and was sent to study at St. Mary’s
University in Winona, Minnesota. Two years
later I felt God calling me to come back to
the Diocese of Rockford. After I made the
transfer, our diocese asked me to move to
the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul,
Minnesota. I graduated from the University
of St. Thomas two
weeks ago with a
degree in Catholic
Studies and a minor in
Philosophy. During my
time in seminary my
love of God has grown
tremendously.
It is a great privilege to
be here for the next
year!! I look forward to meeting many of you
over the next year and thank-you in advance
for helping me grow and learn. Know that I
will be praying for this wonderful community
and I ask you to please keep me in your
prayers.
In Christ,
Aaron Downing
Seminarian for the Diocese of Rockford
(This coming week, Aaron will be traveling
with our youth on the mission trip to Cincinnati and Fr. Paul will be with the group going
to New Orleans.)

McHenry (St. Mary, St. Patrick and Church of Holy
Apostles) will enter a joint float for the first time! All
parish members are invited to take part—kids
(decorate your bikes and strollers!),
teens, and adults of all ages. A wagon
has been secured and plans have
been made for the design of the float.

build the most awesome float in the parade, contact
Loren Schiera at 815-385-5673 or Jen Marsh at

de pecado. Al contrario, no confesarse muestra soberbia y arruina la vida espiritual. Nuestra vida de bautizados debe crecer en actos de continua conver-sión;
