CURRENT REVIEWS
“Autumn Blood emphasizes atmosphere over all of its
other constituting parts, with moody cinematography that
is equally beautiful and haunting. With a tight and
elemental screenplay, evocative soundtrack and menacing
performances from Swedish actors Peter Stormare and
Gustaf Skarsgård, Autumn Blood lingers long after credits
roll.” – Stockholm Film Festival

SYNOPSIS
_________________________
High in the Mountains on a secluded farm a widowed mother dies leaving
her two children alone and orphaned. Fearing being taken away and split
up they keep their mother’s death a secret and survive off the land with no
one to rely on but each other. The sixteen-year-old sister (Lowe) is one with
nature, innocent, and unaware of the evils that exist in mankind. Her ten
year old brother is traumatized and mute from witnessing a disturbing
incident years earlier (the death of his father) involving the town's Mayor
(Stormare). As the girl transitions into womanhood, a harsh brutality
destroys her innocence when savage hunters (Skarsgard and Uhlenbrock)
led by the Mayor's son (Vauramo) attack and rape her. A social worker
(Bejhed) from a distant city arrives to investigate but ultimately it is the
siblings who must come of age to protect each other and survive.

SOPH IE LO WE – THE GIRL
Sophie moved with her family to Australia at age 10 and first developed an interest in acting after appearing in a
grade school musical production at age 16. Moreover, Lowe did some modeling in her early teens but eventually
stopped modeling to concentrate on dancing instead. It was her dancing which led to Sophie attending the
McDonald School of Performing Arts in Sydney, Australia, where she decided to more seriously pursue acting.
She did several short films and TV ads prior to graduating from college in 2008.
Lowe made her feature length film debut as the titular main character in BEAUTIFUL KATE her performance was
praised by critics and subsequently nominated for an AFI Award for Best Lead Actress. Her other credits include
Natalie in the thriller BLAME which were released in 2010. BLAME was screened and received accolades at
Cannes Film Festival , Melbourne International Film Festival, the 35th Toronto International Film Festival, the

PET ER STORMARE – THE MAYOR
A celebrated actor, director and playwright in his native Sweden, Peter Stormare made his American film
breakthrough playing a quiet, sociopathic killer in the Coen Brothers' dark comedy, "Fargo" (1997). Prior to that,
Stormare enjoyed a 15-year association with Ingmar Bergman at the Royal National Theatre of Sweden and
appeared
in films from such international directors as Louis Malle and Susanne Bier. In the U.S., Stormare went on
to enjoy a prolific film career playing mean-spirited villains, intelligent bad guys, and ominous "foreigners" in high
profile blockbusters like "Armageddon" (1998) and "Minority Report" (2002). He occasionally had opportunities
to stretch his range for European directors like Lasse Hallstrom with "Chocolat" (2000) and Lars von Trier with
"Dancer in the Dark" (2000), but mainstream American audiences came to recognize him through his many
discomforting supporting roles as amoral ne'er do wells and mysteriously evil authority figures.
Stormare’s selected filmography includes: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013), The Last Stand (2013), Autumn
Blood (2013), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2010), Entourage (2009), Prison Break (2005/06), Minority
Report (2002), The Million Dollar Hotel (2000), The Big Lebowski (1998).
