FRENCH DRAMA DIVISION Robert Van Wyck Robert Van Wyck was born in Hamilton, Ontario and began his music studies on the piano and recorder. He received a B.Mus. (History and Theory) from McMaster University in 1975 and a Licentiate in Flute Performance from McGill University in 1981. He extended his studies on modern flute with Robert Aitken and Marcel Moyse and on baroque flute and recorder with Sue Carduelis and in workshop with Hans-Olav Grosset, Stephen Preston and Bart Kuijken. He has performed in orchestras and chamber groups in Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton and Thunder Bay. He has been involved with the Suzuki approach since the late 80s in both Hamilton and Thunder Bay. Much of his professional career was devoted to music education both vocal and instrumental. Latterly he extended his interests to the teaching of French. Since retiring from school teaching in 2009 he continues to develop young flutists in the Thunder Bay area, sing in local choirs, perform in chamber music concerts and instruct at the LU Faculty of Education. 1 FRENCH DRAMA DIVISION Wednesday, April 2, 2014,Morning Session Robert Moore School Adjudicator: Robert VanyWyck C - Competitive NC - Adjudication Only 9:00 a.m. CLASS F508 NC French Choral Speaking, Grades 5 and 6 1. The closing of the Steep Rock iron mine in 1979 necessitated a move for her and her family to Williams Lake, B.C. where Tracy became a member of the Williams Lake Players Club, the town’s community theatre group. Each spring, the Players Club would compete with other plays throughout the region in the Zone Festival. Their entry of ‘Odd Jobs’ took top honours in Prince George and Tracy earned a Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Jeanette. The play went on to compete in Victoria B.C. where Tracy received a favourable adjudication from Canada’s very own Mavor Moore (writer, producer, actor and critic). When the family moved back to Ontario in 1988, Tracy undertook writing plays. Her comedies ‘ Here’s to Atikokan’, ‘An Evening at the Chalet’, ‘Suzette’s Closet’, ‘Unravelled’, ‘Father, Oh…’ and’ Bridie & Company’ have been performed in Atikokan, Fort Frances and Thunder Bay. She is currently working in collaboration with Tom Foley on ‘Flowers for Viola,’ a docudrama depicting the events of the Hot Stove Murder at Flanders, Ontario in 1944. Tracy looks forward to the challenge of adjudicating at this year’s festival and is eager to see the upcoming talent. 4 DRAMA DIVISION Monday, April 14, 2014, Morning Session Townshend Theatre Adjudicator: Tracy Gibson C - Competitive NC - Adjudication Only 9:00 a.m. CLASS D1112 C C C C C C C C C Serious Monologue, Grade 11 and 12 1.
