Search Inc. (www.search-inc.org) is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission is to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their full potential, accept a valued role in their community and lead rich, rewarding lives. Search provides a wide range of flexible, personalized services and supports for persons with intellectual
and developmental disabilities. These include supported living arrangements, adult learning and employment programs,
as well as medical, behavioral, therapy and home-based services. Empowering the individuals they serve to participate
fully in their community is a core value at Search and the cornerstone of an active, fun and socially connected life.
Community Life Services are offered as part of Search's Supported Living, Adult Learning and Career Services programs. Community Life Services provide individuals with the choice of participating in a variety of social, cultural and
recreational experiences, as well as volunteer opportunities. Activities are planned around the interests and preferences
of each individual. A variety of community-based activities are offered every week, so individuals always have opportunities to explore the world outside their door
Search Inc.’s programs serve more than 600 people and their families at locations stretching from the southwest side of
Chicago to the northern suburbs of Waukegan and Mount Prospect. Search Inc. has provided hi-quality services and
supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 48 years. The following are a few of the
programs offered by Search Inc.
Search's one-of-a-kind Glidepath Curriculum offers a rich combination of subject areas and experiences designed to
appeal to a broad range of interests. Curriculum topics include creative arts, health and wellness, personal development,
sensory integration, work skills, internet literacy and skills for life. Opportunities for community integration are built into
the curriculum and connect community excursions back to classroom instruction. The Search No Boundaries Program
provides an innovative alternative to traditional adult day services through flexible community-based programs with a
focus on employment and community integration. No Boundaries takes place in the community where individuals access
resources, achieve personal goals and engage in a variety of work and volunteer experiences. Services and activities
support the desire to increase independence, self-confidence and self-esteem, while enhancing basic social and employment skills. Visibility Arts is a comprehensive visual arts program that offers a combination of group learning experiences and hands-on studio time, where individuals apply what they have learned. Activities provide a variety of opportunities for self-expression, creativity and achievement. Drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture are just some of the
creative mediums explored. The 7,000 square foot Visibility Arts program space includes fully equipped studio facilities
and a spacious gallery for exhibitions. Individuals in the program meet and learn from other local artists. They also enjoy
opportunities to show and sell their work in a variety of galleries and public venues.
All donations in the green Alms envelopes will be used by Search Inc. to provide services to the intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Chicago land area.
Emmaus Walk Grief Support Group
Emmaus Walk, an eight week support group for adults grieving the loss
of a loved one will begin on Monday, October 3rd at 7:00 pm in the Parish
Ministry Center and continue through Monday, November 28th. (Because
Halloween falls on a Monday, we won’t meet that evening to be home for
the ghosts and goblins at our door!)
Any adult grieving the recent or perhaps not so recent loss of a significant person in their lives—family member, partner, or friend –is welcome
to join us. During our time together various elements of the grief journey will be explored through education, discussion, and sharing in a safe
and confidential atmosphere.
Please contact Sr. Val, group facilitator, at 847-253-8699 x 143 or
[email protected] to register or with any questions or concerns.
Thank you!

INTERESTED IN SINGING OR PLAYING
A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT AT MASS?
Here are some of the many ways to get involved in the St. Raymond Music Ministry. There is a place for
you! Waiting for the call? Here it is!
Parish Choir
The Parish Choir supports the worshipping assembly weekly at the Sunday 11:15am liturgy, September through
May. It is also the main choir for Midnight Mass and Holy Week celebrations. Aside from the regularly planned
songs and responses, this choir presents a wide range of musical repertoire of varying styles and difficulty. Rehearsals of the Parish Choir take place in the church on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00pm, and on Sunday mornings before mass at 10:45am. Membership is open to all adults and high school teens who feel the call to serve God
and this faith community through sung praise and prayer. The Parish Choir will start rehearsals on Wednesday,
September 7th in the church. We will begin singing at mass on Sunday, September 18th.
Part-time Choir
The Part-time choir is open to all who are interested in praising God through singing and/or playing an instrument on
a once-a-month basis. The Part-time Choir ministers at the 9:30am liturgy normally on the second Sunday of every
month, unless otherwise noted. Rehearsals take place from 7-9pm on the Thursday night before the second Sunday of the month. September’s rehearsal and mass will be on Thursday, September 8th and Sunday, September
11th.
Instrumentalists
Many devoted instrumentalists volunteer their time and talent in service of the liturgy at St. Raymond. The Instrumentalists are responsible for much of the unique “sound” of our liturgies have become known for. Instrumentalists
can include rhythm section instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, and percussion as well as melody instruments
such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, cello, etc… A moderate to high level of proficiency is required in order to
serve in this ministry, including the ability to read music and/or chord symbols.
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir is the mainstay of our popular first Sunday of the month Family Mass which takes place October through June at the 9:30am liturgy. The Children’s Choir is made up of boys and girls in grades two through six
and provides opportunity for developing musical skills and liturgical understanding through upbeat, spiritual music
and frequent participation at masses. The Children’s Choir will also sing for the Christmas Eve 2pm and Easter
Sunday 9:30am Family Masses. For those in grades 4-6, there will be opportunities to begin learning the fundamentals of cantoring through a mentoring process which will lead to real life experience at the cantor podium! Rehearsals of the Children’s Choir take place on designated Monday afternoon’s from 4-5pm in church. The first rehearsal
will be on Monday, September 12th.
Teen Choir
The Teen Choir is open to anyone in grades 7-12 (gals and guys!) and ministers on the 4th Sunday of the month at
the 9:30am liturgy during the school year. The group will learn and perform more advanced liturgical music repertoire in a variety of styles, with emphasis on four part harmony. They will also have opportunities for semi-regular
cantor/solo assignments during liturgies as the year progresses. The Teen Choir also sings for the Christmas Eve
4:00pm Mass. Rehearsals take place in the church from 4-5pm on the two Tuesdays before the 4th Sunday. The
first rehearsals for this group with be on Tuesday, September 13th and 20th and its first mass is on Sunday,
September 25th.

“Could you not watch
one hour with me?"
(Matt 26:40)
We are so thankful for all the support of our revitalization of Eucharistic Adoration on Mondays!
For those of you who don't know, we have reopened our Chapel for Eucharistic Adoration on Mondays from 9:00 AM to
10:00 PM with the Blessed Sacrament exposed. Because Jesus Himself is really present and exposed in the monstrance (the Blessed Sacrament), out of respect we need at least 1 person to "watch" with Him, serving as a kind of
honor guard. Your Monday Holy Hour can be spent in many ways: reading the Bible, praying the rosary, contemplating the Stations of the Cross. You can reflect on God's goodness, thank God, praise Him, seek blessings, and ask for
forgiveness for those times you may have been lax in being a good Christian.
We have most of the hours filled but still need help covering the following times:
4-5 PM - 1 person
6 PM - 1 person
6-7 PM - 2 people
7-8 PM - 1 person
Saint Francis De Sales once remarked, “Each Christian needs half an hour of prayer each day, except when we are
busy; then we need an hour.” Experienced St. Raymond adorers will tell you that when you give God one Holy Hour of
your precious time a week, praying and listening to God's Voice, He mysteriously multiplies and t-r-a-n-s-f-o-r-m-s the
remaining hours in your day and week, offering graces that will change your life for the better. YOU CAN'T OUTGIVE
GOD!
Please prayerfully consider signing up for one of the above hours. You can also split the hour with a friend if that is
easier for you. This weekly commitment would be the same hour every Monday all year, except for Holidays (Labor
Day, etc.). Be assured that SUBSTITUTES ARE AVAILABLE when needed. Please visit our NEW WEBSITE below
or call to select your Holy Hour. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Kathy Nuelle at 847-2535812 or email her @ [email protected] or Evelyn Mutzabaugh at 847-392-4554 or [email protected].
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers that contribute to the transformation of our parish!

HAVE YOU THOUGH ABOUT GIVING BACK?
PADS is a ministry of St. Mark Lutheran Church. St. Raymond is a strong supporter of
PADS at St. Mark. The goal of the PADS shelter program is to provide hospitality, food,
and overnight shelter to the homeless between October 1 and
April 30. St.. Mark hosts PADS on Monday evenings. The site is staffed completely by
volunteers. We need volunteers to set up, be on site, prepare and serve food and to cleanup in the morning. This takes many hands. St. Raymond’s has provided many volunteers
for this site. We have been very thankful for all the time they have given and food they
have prepared. Would you consider helping us this year?
The following are areas that often need new volunteers.
•
Staff the site: 6:30pm – 11:00pm, 11:00pm – 3:00am. 3:00am – 7:00am
•
Donate and/or prepare and serve food,
•
Cleanup on Tuesday morning (6:00pm – 7:15pm)
•
Linnen pick up, 6:45 – 8:00
If you are interested or have questions please call or email me. I have a complete description of what each area does. There is a 1.5 hour orientation that you are asked to attend. It
is offered at many different times. This program is worthwhile and much appreciated by the
many people we host each Monday evening.

CLOW, Children's Liturgy of the Word,
is looking for Prayer Leaders to join our ministry.
In order to keep this vibrant ministry going strong in the
future for the children, we need to ask our adults to
share their talents. Many of our younger children attend
CLOW and find it to be very beneficial as they take a
look at the Sunday Scriptures, in a “kid-friendly” way that
they can understand. Please consider being part of this
wonderful ministry.
CLOW meets during the 9:30 mass two or three Sundays per month from mid-September through midMay. We explore the Sunday Readings and Gospel
with children ages 5-11 during the 9:30 mass. Handout
materials and training will be provided and you have the
opportunity to pair with someone until you feel comfortable teaching a classroom alone.

THE FAMILY MASS MINISTRY
The Family Mass Ministry needs a Family Mass Coordinator. This Ministry provides a Sunday worship experience
that is engaging and involves parents and children alike.
Family Mass ministers help to facilitate the participation of
families at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on the first Sunday of each
month from October through June.
This ministry also coordinates the following special events:
the Christmas Eve Family Mass, the Stations of the Cross
reenactment for families on Good Friday, and the pet blessing on St. Francis’ feast day in October. Ministers rotate the

FAITH • ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE • SERVICE
Last week we featured some of the new SAINTS that joined the St. Raymond School staff. We continue to
welcome three additional members to SRS that will enhance the SRS faculty. Ms. Lisette Wallin will teach
Spanish to the 6-8th grade students. Miss Gina Gagliano will teach the 4 & 5th grade students. We are also
very excited to welcome to the staff a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Mrs. Lori Smithe.
Mrs. Lori Smithe—Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Lori Smithe graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
and Spanish. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago
and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialization in schools. She lives in
Palatine, IL with her husband, Tomm, and her three children, Thomas, Emily, and
Molly. Lori has experience working with children from preschool through high school.
She believes in working together with parents, teachers and administrators to empower
students to develop positive coping skills and positive interactions with their peers. Lori
will work with our students in the classroom, in small groups or individually to help
them gain these important life skills and to provide social and emotional support.
Miss Gina Gagliano -4th/5th Grade Teacher
Gina is excited to join SRS this year! She graduated
from Illinois State University with
a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in
Children’s Studies. This will be
her 5th year in education. Gina
also is a swim instructor with Chicago Swim School and a 200 hour
certified yoga instructor at
CorePower Yoga. She spent a lot
of her childhood in Mount
Prospect and graduated from
Prospect High School. Gina says,
“I am happy to be teaching back
in my hometown. I’m looking
forward to a great year!”
Ms. Wallin -Spanish Teacher
Sra. Wallin has been teaching Spanish and
English as a Second Language since 2008. She
has taught students in public and private schools
from grades Kindergarten-8th. She is also a
native Spanish speaker. Before becoming a
teacher, she worked in
the business world. She
has three children that
are in various stages of
their lives. Two are still
at home and one just
recently
graduated
college. In her free time,
Sra. Wallin enjoys
reading, dancing, and
hiking.
St. Raymond School also honored another NEW
SAINT last week in prayer services for the newly
canonized saint, Mother Theresa. Grades 4-8th grade
discussed why Saint Theresa of Calcutta’s works were
so important to our church and to the world. Students
prayed the rosary using handmade rosaries that were
donated by the St. Raymond Rosary makers.
Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one
ever come to you without leaving happier.

Gathering of Women October 22, 2016
Bridget Sperduto
How Great Is Our God!
How the New Universe Story Can Stretch Our Understanding of God
All women are invited to join us for St. Raymond’s Gathering of Women on Saturday morning, October 22,
2016 for Mass, breakfast, good company and a wonderful speaker. We begin with Mass at 8:00 AM and
end at 11:00 AM.
We are the first generation of humans able to look into the night sky and see 13.7 billion years back
to our origins! We are the first generation of humans to know that we are made of stardust! We are the first
generation of humans to know from science what mystics and indigenous people have always known: WE
ARE ALL ONE. How might this new information provide insight into the God of the Universe, the God
“within,” the God who is closer to us than we might dare to imagine? Join us and allow the story of
creation to come alive and bring new theological understanding and meaning into your life.
Bridget Sperduto is Executive Director of “The Well Spirituality Center” sponsored by
the Congregation of St. Joseph in LaGrange Park, IL. She teaches, offers spiritual direction and facilitates retreats. Bridget is also a certified Reiki practitioner, prayer counselor and minister to the dying. She is a wife, mother of four, former Catholic school
teacher and an associate of the Congregation of St. Joseph.
Weaving story, scripture and theological insights with scientific concepts, Bridget will
invite us into the profound presence and mystery of God that permeates the entire
Universe. It should be an exciting morning, please plan on joining us.
Would You Like to Support the
Bereaved as a Funeral Sacristan?
Are You Being Called to the
Ministry of Care?
As you may know, our support for those at St. Raymond
who are grieving the loss of a loved one has different
components which come together to create our bereavement ministry. One of those important pieces is the ministry of Funeral Sacristan. We are currently in need of additional parishioners who would be willing to give about two
hours of their morning to serve as sacristan on a rotating
basis with our other sacristans when a funeral is celebrated here at St. Raymond. This ministry is gender friendly--both men and women can serve as funeral sacristans.
The only requirement is availability during the morning
hours since most of our funerals are celebrated at that
time. Training will be provided, including shadowing one of
our experienced sacristans to become acquainted with
this ministry.
We at St. Raymond are blessed to have over fifty men
and women who serve as Ministers of Care to visit our
parishioners at Northwest Community Hospital, and to
bring Communion to our homebound parishioners and to
the residents in skilled care at The Moorings and Church
Creek. The Ministry of Care is not limited to a certain age
group; young adults, those in their senior years, and
everyone in-between is welcome to consider this important ministry.
If you have been looking for a simple but important way to
serve St. Raymond and the bereaved among us that
doesn’t require a large time commitment, please consider
this invitation. Are you being called to this ministry? For
further information, please contact Sr. Val at 847-2538600 x 143 or at [email protected]. Thank you!
Are you being called to be a Minister of Care?
Archdiocesan training for new Ministers of Care will be
held on Saturday, October 8th and Saturday, October 15th
from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at St. James Parish in Arlington
Heights. Attendance at both sessions is required to be
commissioned and mandated as a Minister of Care for St.
Raymond.
If you would like to discuss the possibility of becoming a
Minister of Care, please contact Sr. Val at 847-253-8600
x 143 or at [email protected] no later than Monday, September 19th. Thank you!

ALL ARE WELCOME IN THIS PLACE
Invite Your Friends to the RCIA
One of the hallmarks of the Catholic Church is that we are a people-on-mission. The Good News
(of God’s active, loving presence in our lives) is not ours to hoard. Rather, the Spirit of God compels us to share it! Therefore, we ask you, the Church of St. Raymond, to think of people you
know (a neighbor, a co-worker, a friend) who might be at a place in their lives where they are
searching for something “more.” We encourage you to reach out and invite these people to consider exploring the Catholic faith here at St. Raymond’s.
We have a wonderful group of parishioners who will accompany these men and women on a journey of exploring God’s call in their lives. For further information about the RCIA (Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults), please call or e-mail any one of these people: Dee Peppard, BVM. (847-2538600, x151, [email protected], or Ed Dowling (847-437-8343, [email protected], or Emily
McNally (847-372-3550, [email protected]). Our regular meetings will begin on Monday,
September 12, 2016.
Linda signs Book of the Elect
with Mike and Jilli
These pictures are from the Rite of Sending for Election, when the
community of St. Raymond “sends” the catechumens (those who
will be baptized at the Easter Vigil) and the candidates (those who
are already baptized in another Christian denomination) to Holy
Name Cathedral for the Rite of Election. Each one signs the “Book
of the Elect” – which we bring with us to the cathedral the next
week. This year both Jevo and Linda, pictured above on the altar,
were catechumens.

taken pictures throughout the RCIA process.

“Facing the tragedy of tens of thousands of refugees
— fleeing death by war and famine, and journeying towards the
hope of life — the Gospel calls, asking of us to be close to the
smallest and forsaken.” -Pope Francis
As Catholics, it is our mission to encourage our leaders and
elected officials to protect the dignity of every person, including
those seeking refuge. This September the global goals include:
increasing humanitarian aid by 30 percent, doubling the number of refugee resettlement opportunities, guaranteeing the
right to work for one million more refugees, and ensuring access to education for refugee children.

monthly letter is sent asking the ministers to pray daily for
the intentions mentioned. If you know a homebound person who would like to be part of this ministry, please call

GRANDMOTHERS IN PRAYER
Grandmothers In Prayer is a ministry which
gives Grandmothers a special way to connect
with their grandchildren: by praying for them.
These women come together on two
Wednesdays every month (from 10:00 AM to
12:00 noon) to pray for their grandchildren, their schools
and teachers. For further information please call Donna
Czajka at (847) 228-6360.
MAC (MEN OF ACTION AND CONTEMPLATION)
MAC is a group of five or six men who commit themselves
to meeting twice a month for one hour to dialogue, support and encourage each other to live the Gospel message more fully in their daily lives. A resource book,
based on the daily scripture readings is used. Each daily
reflection contains a part of a scripture reading, a contemporary story, a question for one’s own life application and
a concluding thought for the day. Each man is asked to
find ten minutes each day to reflect and pray over the daily reflection. The men involved find that this experience
helps them in their daily lives. For more information
please contact Johnny Burnett at [email protected]
or 847-707-3360 or Sr. Dee at [email protected] or
847-253-8600 x 151.
WOMEN’S SPIRITUALITY CIRCLES
Women’s Spirituality Circles are small groups of 8-18
women who gather once a month to nourish, reflect upon
and share their own spiritual lives. A resource book is
used, which enables the women to come to a deeper understanding of themselves and their own unique spirituality. Through reading, discussion and prayerful reflection,
the women experience a deeper prayer life and the invitation to share their gifts in service to God’s people. They
gather strength, insight and a sense of gratitude from one
another. Each group has a facilitator. For further information please contact Kathy Hemler at either 847-4271472 or [email protected].
TUESDAY MORNING SCRIPTURE
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
SEPT. 13, 2016 – MAY 30, 2017
9:30 – 11:00 AM IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM
The Tuesday Morning Scripture Group is starting again
on September 13. We’ll continue studying and praying
the Gospel according to John. In many ways this Gospel
is very different than that of Matthew, Mark or Luke -- and
consequently it has been called a “maverick gospel.” It
has also been called a “spiritual gospel.” Because it has
such a unique “take” on the Jesus tradition, you and I are
invited to encounter the text in a very different way.
John is quite clear in telling us the purpose of this gospel:
it is written “that you may believe … and that believing
you may have life in (Jesus’) name.”
We gather each week to read, study and pray the scriptures, and as we do so, we pay attention to the many
ways it affirms and challenges us today. The message of

ST. RAYMOND ROSARY MAKERS
200,000 ROSARIES IN 20 YEARS!
Founded by Rose Urban, this ministry has grown
to over 30 members of all ages, who have lovingly hand made and distributed over 200,000
rosaries free of charge to local ministries and mission
fields worldwide. These "Gospels on a string" have been
shipped all across America, as well as to: Belize, Brazil,
China, Haiti, Honduras, India, Ireland, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Latvia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan,
The Philippines, Uganda, and Vietnam.
ROSARY MAKERS GROUP annually teaches our 5thGrade Religious Education classes how to make rosaries.
Free materials and rosary-making instructions have been
given to residents of Oakton Pavilion, St. Joseph's Home,
and now The Moorings. Our Eucharistic Adoration Chapel has been supplied with over 9,000 rosaries.
ROSARY MAKERS GROUP meets on Tuesdays from 1 3 pm year round in our Community Room. In addition,
many members choose to make rosaries at home in their
spare time. If you wish to participate in this artistically
creative and spiritually fulfilling ministry, which enables
the global poor to pray for peace, please contact Evelyn
Mutzabaugh @ [email protected] or 847-392-4554.
THE LEGION OF MARY

6:30p, in the PMC conference room. The Legion of Mary
was founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1921 and it is on of the
largest worldwide lay Catholic organizations. The Legion
has had the approbation of all of the popes since 1933.
The object of the Legion is the Glory of God through the
holiness of its members. For more information please

MEN’S SATURDAY MORNING SCRIPTURE GROUP
For over 25 years, the “Men’s Saturday Morning Scripture Group” have been meeting at 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
in Coggins Hall, to read, study and pray the scriptures.
Through this process we have become good friends.
Each week we share the joys and challenges we shared
with those we encountered during the week. All are welcome and we deeply appreciate that we are joined together in our spiritual journey of life.
Through the years we have had the chance to put our
faith into action by supporting the homeless, building an
orphanage in Bangladesh, caring for the elderly, helping
and assisting widows and the unemployed. We are serving and have also served in many ministries at St. Raymond. Our reach is endless. The men of the “Lower
Room” know that with Him, in Him and through Him we
can do wonders.
When Peter and Andrew asked Jesus “Where do you
live?” … the response was “Come and See!” New members are always welcome.

ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS (ACOA)
WEEKLY MEETINGS MONDAY AT 7:30 PM
Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) is a Twelve Step
group designed especially for those wanting to heal from
childhood wounds that were often inflicted by wellmeaning but equally wounded parents. This meeting is
not just for people with alcoholic parents; any one that
comes from a dysfunctional family is welcome to attend.
Based on following the Twelve Step model of Alcoholics
Anonymous (A/A), ACOA is a spiritually centered support
group that gives participants practical tools to successfully work through these Adult Children issues.
Come join our extended family on MONDAY evenings
beginning AUGUST 1, from 7:30 -9:00 p.m. at the St.
Raymond's PMC in Coggins Hall. For more information
about this meeting, please contact Dan L. at 847-2594645 or via email at [email protected].

hands to create items for the needy, we also enjoy each
other's company. This is a wonderful ministry of caring
and sharing. WON'T YOU CONSIDER JOINING
US? Please call Barbara Klett at (847)255-3147 or just
come to the Parish Ministry Center on the dates and
times listed above. Donations of yarn are welcome!
Please bring your donation to the Parish Ministry Office.
SCRIP PROGRAM NEWS
St. Raymond’s Scrip Program continues as a parish fund raiser. Cards are available for purchase and order at the PMC, after masses and on-line at www.shopwithscrip.com.
•
Our inventory of cards will be smaller. We will continue to have plenty of the most popular vendors’
cards on hand and we can order just about any card that you would like. Please see the revised
order form in this bulletin for the cards we will have in inventory and a partial list cards available to
order. Orders placed by 10 am Monday will be available for pick up after 1 pm on Wednesday. To
guarantee your cards will be available on Sunday place an order or create a standing order.
•
If you are currently using a credit card to pay for your scrip purchase please consider paying with a
check, cash or setting up direct debit. St. Raymond incurs a fee for every credit card transaction.
The average fee for a credit card purchase is 2.5% of the total purchase.
•
Volunteers are needed every week to sell cards after Saturday and Sunday masses. We have a
dedicated group of volunteers but we are in need of more. Volunteer sign up is through ivolunteer
on the parish website. Please call the PMC at 847-253-8600 if you are able to help.
If you are not participating in the program, start today! St. Raymond earns a rebate on every card purchased. Thank you for your continued support of the St. Raymond Scrip Program.

ST. RAYMOND PARISH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OUTREACH
AWARENESS-SERVICES-PREVENTION
AWARENESS
Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior. It is used to exert power and control over another person. It is found in the
context of a dating, family or household relationship.
Questions to ask:
Does your partner isolate you from family and friends?
Are you being physically, psychologically, economically or sexually abused?
Is your partner attempting to destroy your self-esteem and self-confidence?
Domestic violence victims often report:
“I didn’t know it was abuse.”, “I thought I could fix it.”, “I didn’t tell anyone.”
These are traps that keep people bound.
Domestic violence. Dating Violence. No Excuse
You are loved and you are not alone.

OUR JOYFUL RESPONSE OF STEWARDSHIP:
TIME, TALENT AND TREASURE
Psychological Services
Psychological services are available
through Human Resources. We have

counsel families and/or individuals. We
also have a qualified addiction counselor
who works with both those suffering from
addiction and/or their families. If you need
to talk with a counselor, contact Sr. Valerie
Kulbacki at the Parish Ministry Center at

Pray for our Military
Heavenly Father, we pray for the people of
this nation and every nation that we might
work to bring liberty, justice and peace to
all. We ask that you care for the men and
women who serve our country in the military that they might know of our prayers
and be blessed and protected through your
ever loving presence. Amen
Substance Abuse Team
Drug, alcohol and gambling addiction is a
disease, which is chronic, progressive and
treatable, but terminal if untreated.
Recovery is possible if the person is willing
to ask for help and work toward that goal.
Families with addicted family members
also need help and understanding. Worry,
fear and anger destroy both relationships
and the family unit. The Substance Abuse
Team is available to reach out with support
and
care.
