A reception will be held following rehearsal to welcome all new and returning singers. Come join the fun, and sing God's praises with us! Take note: The Children's Choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 7, from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in the Parish Hall, after religious education classes. The children rehearse music to sing at the monthly Children's Mass and other special celebrations. All children 2nd grade and above are welcome and snacks are provided. DAILY ROSARY AND BOOK OF PETITIONS There is a prayer petition book to Our Lady of the Rosary located on the shelf at the back of the church. Bishop Noonan has appointed Father Nicholas King, of St. Mary’s Church in Rockledge, as Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, effective September 1, 2016. However, Fr. King’s arrival date is pending. We will provide more information as to Fr. Mark your calendars for two successive Sundays, September 11 and 18, from 12 noon until 5:00 o'clock to attend a 2-part course entitled "Discovering God's Vision for Your Life". The program is designed to help you discern what your spiritual gifts are and how to use them more fully. Anyone high school age and up is invited to attend. The cost is $20, and lunch and materials are provided. EUCHARIST ADORATION NEWS UPDATE: Newly appointed: Group Coordinator Mary Kay O'Toole 724-5166658 , Assistant Coordinator Vee Bates 321-728-2246 Our Chapel is being readied. Our beginning date has not been set, but depending on number of adorers we will start out on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. til 9:00 p.m. as more people can arrange for an hour with God we will add another day, one at a time. So far, 49 people have signed up for adoration. This is a work in progress for our Lord! All suggestions, comments, are welcome. Look for further updates and opening date of our chapel. How exciting to have such a wonderful blessing for our parish. We will be having guest speakers at times to enlighten and stimulate our interest in adoration. BIRTHRIGHT/GENESIS HOUSE This weekend, September 3rd & 4th, is Birthright Weekend, for the Birthright Center and the three Genesis Houses. Envelopes are available in the back of the Church and checks should be made out to "Birthright" or "Genesis House". We will also have the Penny Sunday Collection. Please consider giving your pennies to Birthright, an organization that helps pregnant, needy mothers. Bring your bag of pennies and drop them in the special bucket marked "Birthright" by the entrance of the church. SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND FOR LOUISIANA FLOOD VICTIMS The Orlando Diocese has asked all diocesan parishes to take up a special second collection this weekend for the victims of the Louisiana flood victims. Please be as generous as possible. SHEPHERD'S CENTER – BEACHSIDE Fall Term - 2016 Summer is gone (well, almost!) and it's Shepherd's Center time once again!! Classes meet Thursdays, starting Sept. 29th at Eastminster Presbyterian Church on Riverside Drive and Fridays at Ascension Lutheran Church on Pinetree Drive in Indian Harbour Beach, ending on Nov. 18, 2016. Immaculate Conception is one of our many area Churches sponsoring the Shepherd's Center, which offers more than 44 classes with over 300 participants. More information is in the brochure, which is waiting for you in the Parish office and in Church as well. If you have any questions, call the Shepherd's Center (610-3937) or Judy Rohan (953-8368.) Remember, attendance is never taken, there is no homework, and you'll just have a plain good ol' time. It's a win-win!!
