Glen Mills Schools Class of
2015 were recognized at the Educational Awards Ceremony on
June 25th in front of a large audience consisting of the student
body, members of the Board of

family members, and others.
Curtis Johnson, the long-time
President of the Glen Mills
Schools Board of Managers,
welcomed the guests and congratulated the award recipients.
Jim Chobany, the Director of
Education at the Glen Mills
Schools, explained the purpose
of the ceremony.
“We’re gathered here for a
special reason, to celebrate our
students’ achievements,”
Chobany said.
Daniel Reyes, the Valedictorian of the Class of 2015 at the
Glen Mills Schools, congratu-
lated his classmates and wished
them well in the future as they
pursue their dreams. He also
thanked Glen Mills for its support.
“Glen Mills has been incredibly beneficial to me,” Reyes explained. “When I first came
here, I wasn’t really sure what I
wanted to do but I knew I had a
lot of things to work on and
that’s where Glen Mills came
in.”
Reyes will continue his academic career at East Stroudsburg University.
During the ceremony, students were lauded for their accomplishments in 29 different
areas, including their academic
and Career and Technical Education classrooms. Many of
those accomplishments, various
facets of student life, and special events during the 2014-
2015 school year were captured
in a dynamic video that was
shown during the ceremony.
Students and staff members in
the Video Productions program
at the Glen Mills Schools produced the segment.
As well as recognizing student accomplishments, outstanding staff members were
also honored for their contributions to student achievement at
the Glen Mills Schools and received various Teacher of the
Year awards.
Additionally, members of the
Bulls For Life Club, a unique
alumni group consisting of successful former Glen Mills students, were also at the ceremony
to support the Class of 2015.
Furthermore, inductees into the
Wall of Fame were introduced.
Dr. Randy Ireson, the Executive Director of the Glen Mills

“Sportsmanship means a lot

13th annual Golf Course at Glen Mills Student Scholarship
Invitational supports educational dreams
“This was for a wonderful
cause,” Chris Cassini said after
his round at the award winning
Golf Course at Glen Mills on
June 1st. “It’s really nice to have
the chance to support the students and the school.”
Cassini and over 150 other
golfers enjoyed a great day on
the links and despite the cloudy
skies, helped make the future
brighter for the Glen Mills
Schools Class of 2015.
A shining example of how
the tournament supports the educational goals of Glen Mills
students, Bloomsburg University student and former Battling
Bull Tywan Faust was on hand
to personally thank the players
June 25, 2015 12
and sponsors for their support.
Faust, a member of the Glen
Mills Class of 2010, will enter
his senior year at Bloomsburg
University in the fall as he continues to study criminal justice
and metaphysics.
“My thank you comes from
the heart,” Faust told the group
of supporters. “I thank my
donors for giving me opportunity.”
Faust also congratulated and
challenged the Class of 2015 as
they move into their futures.
“As a recipient, I know that
these scholarships are not just
given to you,” Faust said. “I
know you’ve earned them.
Don’t make this the last thing
you will earn.”
Of course, the students are
the real winners but there was
golf to be played and the team
of Doug Proctor, Steve Forgue,
Harvey Nauss, and Clint
Alexander posted an 11 under
par 60 on the Bobby Weed designed layout. Their winning
score bettered three groups who
shot 61s.
Dr. Randy Ireson, the Executive Director of the Glen Mills
Schools, personally thanked
those that supported the event,
which raised thousands of
scholarship dollars.
“Many of us are blessed but
it’s always better to be a blessing to somebody else,” Golf
Course at Glen Mills general
manager Paul Stuhlmiller said.
“And that’s why so many of you
return year after year and support our students. Thank you.”
Dr. Randy Ireson, the Executive Director of the Glen Mills
Schools, also thanked the
donors.
“You can see what your generosity can do,” Dr. Ireson said
as he used Faust as an example
of the product that can evolve
from scholarship opportunities.
“With the help of your generosity, our students’ dreams are beginning to come true.”
