INTRODUCTION
Drill Force was established 10th March 2008, by a small group of motivated working
investors who saw that there was an opportunity for a diversified, quality focused drilling
services company to enter the New Zealand market.
With our combined 100+ years drilling industry experience, including drilling services
management and ownership, along with a diverse market knowledge and understanding of
New Zealand’s unique geological nature, we can provide cost effective drilling solutions to
the Water Well, Geotechnical, Environmental, Construction, Seismic, Exploration, Coal,
CBM and other markets.
Drill Force has made a conscientious decision to enter the New Zealand drilling contracting
market using only high quality modern multipurpose drilling equipment, experienced staff
and solutions orientated focus.
Drill Force has worked closely with its clients and suppliers since its inception to ensure that
we are in a position to offer you the equipment, experience and quality of workmanship that
you expect.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH and SAFETY
Health and Safety of our staff and those who we come in contact with and the preservation
of the Environment of which we work in is a key focus to Drill Force. We understand that to
be considered for selection as a contractor by a company such as yours we must have
proactive, legally compliant, up to date and accurate Quality, Environmental, Health and
Safety policies and procedures in place. These policies and procedures must be enforced,
monitored and modified as parameters and situations change.
A suitably qualified industry recognized consultant has been contracted by Drill Force to
establish and monitor our Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and systems.
These have been created on proven industry and client accepted templates. This
consultant will also provide ongoing Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety field and
administrative support to the management and field staff.
Drill Force has completed the ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices audit to the
secondary standard since 2010. We regularly audit our sites to verify compliance with the
standards. We are members of Site Safe and we endorse random testing to monitor for any
illicit drug and or alcohol use by our staff.
The company has created QHS&E checklists to audit sites for compliance and field crew
knowledge. We welcome clients who wish to audit our sites to assist us to maintain a high
level of compliance with our systems.

PEOPLE
We have secured by scrupulous selection what we consider the industry’s best drillers in
today’s competitive drilling market. This allows us to provide only experienced and industry
proven drillers and support staff to your projects. Drill Force will only provide suitably
experienced and trained personnel to your sites and projects including field staff and
management with current IADC Well Cap well control certificates for all situations where
there is a potential to be drilling into an over pressure formation such as Coal Seam Gas
and Geothermal drilling projects. Drill Force, with the assistance of EXITO, are currently upskilling staff through their drilling certificate levels.
With modern equipment, a New Zealand focused management team, experienced field
staff, along with the “hands on” knowledge and experience to “think outside of the square”
(thus the ability to assist with well and project design), we will provide you with a cost
competitive Quality and Service orientated Drilling Solution, as we are for other clients.
I trust that the above information is informative and of interest to your company. Please do
not hesitate to contact myself directly by email and/or phone numbers below to discuss your
drilling and equipment requirements further.
Over the next few pages we have listed a brief description of our equipment capabilities,
services that we provide and a few of our recent, interesting project examples.

This well was drilled using a full above ground closed circuit solids control system including
two shakers and one centrifuge. The well was directionally deviated to intersect a Seismic
interpreted Mt Messenger target where a 40m, reservoir quality sand was intersected. The
well was then completed with production casing prior to the Drill Force Rig #1 rig also being
used to run production tubing prior to initial flow testing where reported results included;
“Excellent light quality oil” with a density of 43.7 degrees API, and a pour point of 15
degrees centigrade.

to recover the specifically targeted zones. A second existing well within the same lease was
also worked using the DSM Mayhew Rig #1 prior to its release.

Coal Seam Gas Evaluation Well (1 of 11 in project);
Location:
Whangamomona, Taranaki, New Zealand
Site Access:
Formally the main route from Whangamomona to Aotuhia (In 1942 a
storm caused severe damage to the Whangamomona - Aotuhia road
and the Government decided it would not be re-opened) more recently
accessed only by four wheel drive and off road motor cycle clubs due to
the condition of the road.

Drilling method:
Rotary wash drill
Crew:
IADC Well Cap trained and certified drillers and management
This particular well location presented a logistical challenge from the geting, due to the
steepness, narrowness and tightness of the formed and unformed roads into the site and
others within the project.
The well was drilled with a full BOP stack in place for well control and TD’d approximately
10% deeper than planned. The rig (#1) didn’t falter and still had surplus capacity in the 81/2” hole at TD. The same rig (#1) ran the 1100m+ string of Range III, 7” OD casing without
assistance or external casing crews. The drill crew demonstrated a professional attitude,
even in the adverse weather conditions experienced during the drilling, running of casing
and completion periods.

Underground Coal Gasification Monitoring Well (1of 5 in project)
Location:
Rotongaro, Waikato, New Zealand
Site Access:
Mixture of “green fields” and formed tracks
TD:
Typically around 400.0m (1,312’)
Diameter at TD:
153.9mm (6-1/6”)
Drilling method:
Mixture of selected wire line cored portions and rotary wash drill
Instrumentation per well (typical):
7x
Pressure transducers / vibrating wire piezo’s (ground water level
monitoring)
4x
Down hole pumps (water quality sampling)
35 x
Accelerometers / Geophones (ground movement monitoring)
Possibly New Zealand’s most complex instrument arrays set in a single slim hole. A
significant number of the Drill Force crew have been trained in the handling, installation and
completion of these unique monitoring wells. Drill Force worked closely with the client and
their material suppliers to develop the drilling plan, installation plan and specialist equipment
to make these wells and the project a success.

Irrigation Water Well (1 in project)
Location:
Glenbrook, South Auckland, New Zealand
Site Access:
500m across a freshly plowed paddock in autumn (wet, very wet)
TD:
160.0m
Diameter at TD:
203.2mm (8”)
Production casing: 6-5/8” OD (steel threaded and coupled)
Screen assembly:
15m long Telescopic Stainless Steel “V” wire
Screened material: Kawa Shellbed
Drilling method:
Rotary wash drill
Bore Yield:
120m3 per hour continuous
This among numerous other water supply wells was a success for our well respected local
growers. Part of the service that Drill Force supplied in this contract was a 24hr flow test,
where existing near wells were monitored for connectivity. This information was essential to
the client so as they could obtain an Auckland Regional Council Water Take Consent.

SH-1 Atamuri Bridge Replacement Geotech Investigation (6 holes in project)
Location:
Atamuri, South Waikato, New Zealand
Site Access:
Mixture of steep to very steep access in heavily wooded and vegetated
terrain, requiring helicopter supported and track mounted drilling rigs.
Drilling method:
Fully wire line cored (HQ size)
In situ testing:
Standard Penetrometer Tests (SPT’s)
Depth:
35.0m
Instrumentation:
Combination of single and nested stand-pipe type piezometers
A particularly interesting drilling project with each bore hole presenting its own health and
safety concerns, these included:

Flood river levels (as the rig and equipment were below this level, constant
communication was required with the river control authority, escape and rescue plans
developed).

Access through and working in a “working forest”.

Steep site set-ups with tall vegetation requiring helicopter support to mobilize the
drilling rig and equipment to site.

Working adjacent to State Highway 1 (high traffic flows at open road speeds).
