The Selangor softball and tennis teams celebrate after capturing the overall champions titles in both the sports at the Dewan Millenium in Kepala
Batas recently. Pic by K. Kandiah
Selangor collected 25, 16, 50, and
35 for a total of 126 points in the
Girls' Under-12 and Under-18, Boys'
Under-12 and Under-18 respectively to lift the overall title in softball.
In tennis, Selangor's athletes
made a clean sweep of all the three
titles.
A Selangor official, who declined
to be named, said they had expected to win the tennis overall
title but winning the softball overall title was a pleasant surprise as
Negri Sembilan and Pahang were
the favourites.
"Anyway, we are all very happy
for winning both the overall titles,
but now we have a lot of work to do
in order to retain the titles we won
this year. Winning is easy but to
maintain it is the real task.
"Tennis development and training are in place but we have to put
in more effort in softball," he said.
