CNG NEWSLETTER
It is a fruitful year for EMGAS/ENOC in regards to CNG market. The hard work for marketing, educating
Dubai the benefits of CNG as the choice for alternate fuel has started to pay off. In the first quarter of the
year we have installed THREE new CNG daughter station in Dubai.
Our main target for supply of CNG is Fleet customers
such as Driving Institutes, Rental & lease Companies,
Courier companies etc.
The first station installed is a CNG daughter station
with a capacity to dispense 6000m3/day. The
customer is Emirates Transport. The CNG DAUGHTER
station is installed in EMIRATES TRANSPORT premises
in AL Qusais.
Emirates Transport is refueling their customers which
are in and around their office. Some of the customers
that are filling at the station are Galadari Driving
Institute, Dubai Driving Institute, and Vitkovice.
The second CNG station that was installed was CNG
mini daughter station at Emirates Driving Institute. As
the station name indicated the station capacity is
2500m3/day. They have 149 vehicles converted to
CNG and more to be converted soon. Evaluating the
benefits of using CNG they have three shifts for
refueling the vehicles. Even on Fridays.
The third station is similar but the capacity is
3000m3/day and is installed in the premises of Al
Ahli Driving Institute. They have at present 51
vehicles and undergoing conversion of additional
100 sedan and few buses to CNG.
CNG is the Cleanest Burning Fuel
It is a more environmentally clean alternative to petrol, diesel or propane (LPG)
Vehicles operating on CNG produce the fewest emissions of any motor fuel
Tail-Pipe emissions from petrol operated vehicles release Carbon Dioxide, this
Carbon Dioxide is greatly reduced when using CNG
CNG is cheaper per equivalent liter than gasoline (at least 30% in the UAE)
Some Fleet Operators using CNG claim to have reduced maintenance costs by
as much as 40%
Surveys indicate that vehicles operating on CNG are as safe or safer than those
powered by other fuels. Recent survey of more than 8,000 vehicle found that
with more than 278 million kilometers travelled, NGV (Natural Gas Vehicles)
injury rates per vehicle kilometer travelled were 34% lower than the rate of
gasoline powered vehicles
Some original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are now offering factory fitted
CNG vehicles, such as Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Volkswagen, Honda and Fiat to
name a few
In the UAE petrol driven car can be converted to operate on CNG by authorized
conversion workshops
Compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel storage tanks are stronger and safer than
petrol or diesel tanks reducing the likelihood of accidental release. If released,
CNG disperses quickly into the air instead of pooling on the ground (like petrol
or diesel), reducing the risk of fire and ground contamination. Plus, CNG gives
off little to no emissions during refueling
