St. Charles Home and School Newsletter
St. Charles Home and School Newsletter October 2015 President’s Message WELCOME BACK to all our students, families and staff and a warm welcome to those who are new to the St. Charles community. Home & School wishes you a successful and wonderful new school year. What is the St. Charles Home & School? The St. Charles Home & School is an organization comprised of dedicated volunteers working together with the school to promote the education and welfare of our children. In support of this goal, we raise funds and provide volunteer time to furnish our students with activities and supplies not funded by the school board. Be involved, have a say, and more than anything get to know other parents. Our main focus is always the students! Please join us at our next meeting, and bring a friend! The meeting dates are posted on the school’s monthly calendar. If you ever have any questions please feel free to email Susan at [email protected]. Together we anticipate another great year filled with learning, new friendships and fun. As a member, one benefits from: Ability to manage funds QFHSA newsletters All Home and School meeting minutes Tax receipts for donations of $20 and more There is no better way to know what is happening at St. Charles. You decide on your level of involvement, every minute you volunteer is welcomed! With your support, we can continue to provide a positive learning environment for all our children at St. Charles. For more information on becoming a member for the 2015-2016 school year, please contact Mickey ([email protected]) or Kendra ([email protected]) our Co-Membership Chairs or visit the QFHSA website at www.qfhsa.org. You are likely receiving many forms that indicate “please return to the Red Mailbox”. Where do you send this? The Red Mailbox is located near the front office. All monies and/or forms should be placed in an envelope and labeled “Red Mailbox” along with your child’s name and purpose (i.e. pizza/TCBY, Fundraising, Membership etc.). This ensures that the envelope which your child will hand in to their teacher will end up in the Red Mailbox. All other envelopes or information that is not requested to be returned to the Red Mailbox should be labeled as well (Hot Lunch, After School Activities, etc.) All daycare correspondence, ped day forms and cheques regarding the daycare must be handed in directly to the daycare staff. Another successful Welcome Back BBQ and Big Bang Fundraiser! Thanks to everyone on the BBQ committee and in particular to the chair, Susan, for keeping the St. Charles tradition alive and working hard to accomplish what was an extremely successful Welcome Back BBQ. The “Big Bang” Fundraiser was a success and we raised $1,000 which will benefit our students.
