RANCH HOUSE BBQ knows a thing or two about real BBQ! Competing on the national competition BBQ circuit since the late 80’s, (be sure & check out all the trophies!), Pitmaster & Founder Amy Anderson and her competition BBQ team took home the prestigious award of WORLD CHAMPION at the World BBQ Championship in Ireland in 2000! Let’s not forget to mention the Grand Championship titles at the Washington, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon and Canadian International BBQ competitions, and peoples choice awards for Best of Western Washington, Best of South Sound and Grays Harbor! Born and raised in Olympia, Anderson was looking for a new home for her established BBQ catering company. It was during this time that the Food Network chose to film her & her team while competing at the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational in Lynchburg, Tennessee, under the team name of Mad Momma & the Kid. The following year, Food Network caught up with the BBQ team at a Las Vegas BBQ & Chili competition. Shortly thereafter, Anderson stumbled across the Ranch property and immediately knew it would be the perfect roadside BBQ house. After several months of remodeling, the doors to the historic Ranch were opened in April 2004. As luck would have it, in 2006 Food Network decided to pay a personal visit to the now famous Ranch House BBQ & Steakhouse and featured Anderson and her staff in the Food Network special “Grill Girls.” Soon after that, TLC Network filmed Amy and staff in “Buzzworthy BBQ” top 10 in the Nation!
