We are doing so again this year and the items we would like to collect are: NEW items of underwear for both male and female ie vests, underpants, briefs. NEW warm socks, again for both sexes and popsocks for ladies. NEW woollen hats, gloves and scarves. If you are not able to provide any of the above but would like to make a donation please put this in an envelope and place it in the boxes which are provided for the appeal at the back of church. This appeal will run until Saturday 26th November 2016. The Parish has always responded marvellously in the past to our appeal which brings some comfort to those in need at Christmas. Thank you. Marjorie Lightfoot, President Travelling Nativity Could you provide a home for Mary and Joseph as they travel to Bethlehem? Our knitted nativity will be travelling around the parish from the 17th December and returning to church on Christmas Eve. If you think you can welcome them for one night, along with your family, friends and parishioners, with a short prayer (all provided), a cup of tea and mince pie, then help them to their next destination, please sign the sheet at the back of church. If you have any questions please speak to Clare Williams or Fr. Peter. The Art of Dying Well The Catholic Church has a rich treasury of resources and reflections that the Bishops of England and Wales would like to open up to everyone. To achieve this, we are developing a resource called The Art of Dying Well (or Ars Moriendi) for the digital age. The Art of Dying Well is a new website that offers a helping hand to those grappling with issues around death and dying. Based in the Catholic tradition but open to all, it features real-life stories about dealing with the journey through death to eternal life. It will launch in November— the traditional month of remembering and praying for the dead. www.artofdyingwell.org Universe Catholic Radio Universe Catholic Radio (UCR) is the online radio station of The Universe newspaper.
