We are to live as disciples of Christ.
At God’s directive, the prophet Elijah chooses Elisha as His successor. Paul reminds the Galatians that they are
called for freedom to love their neighbor and live according to the spirit, not the flesh. Jesus travels to Jerusalem, fully aware that His Passion awaits Him there. He rebukes James and John for their desire to call down fire
on the village.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
***Summer CCE Program will begin July 8 thru July 12, 2013 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Although the deadline
for registration has expired you may still call the office to have your child/children included in the program.
***Archdiocesan Prayer Breakfast on July 26, 2013 at 7:30am at the Hilton-Americas. Please call 713-652-4417
for reservations.
***Our Stewardship Drive is under way. Our Parish is in need of sustained increases in Sunday Collections.
We are also conducting a Onetime Debt Relief Drive with a goal of $100,000 which would reduce our parish Hall
Debt in half. A generous, Anonymous family has agreed to match
Parish donations toward the Debt Relief Drive dollar for dollar up to $100,000. If the Parish were to raise
$100,000 through this drive, this would effectively pay off all debt on the Parish Hall with the matching donation.
To be most effective, this Debt Relief Drive needs to be completed within 60 days. We ask that all pledges be
paid within 1 year. Pledge forms are available on the tables at the entrances of church.
***The Knights of Columbus 58th Annual Bazaar will take place on July 14, 2013 starting at 11:00 a.m. Activities include live auction, silent auction, clown/balloons, moon walk, train rides, 50/50 tickets, barbecue dinners
and raffle. Please plan to attend and help support your local K of C #4054.
***Registration is now open until July 8 for couples celebrating their 25th Wedding anniversary. They will be
recognized at a special Mass on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Houston. Visit
www.archgh.org/25thWedding for registration.
***The Catholic Tour LLC has been able to secure 33 air seats and hotel beds for the Holy Father Pope Francis’
visit to the Holy Land on November 17, 2013. The pilgrimage is set for November 14-21, 2013. Please call Marlene in the office for more information.
