IN THE DIOCESE
ATTN: MARRIED COUPLES: Is this the typical
conversation at your house in the evenings? What’s for dinner? How was Mary’s report card? I’m going to go watch the
news. I’m going into the other room to watch my show while
you watch the sports channel. Is that the extent of excitement
in your marriage? Why not find out how to bring much more
to your marriage by attending the next Worldwide Marriage
Encounter Weekend—which is a WONDERFUL way to reconnect AND give your Sacrament a terrific Valentine gift!
Next Weekend: Feb. 13-15 at Subiaco. Apply now. Space is
limited. For more info or to apply, please visit our website
arkansaswwme.org or call Steve & Elaine Lienhart at 501312-1119 or email [email protected].

You Did It For Me
Like many farmers in Tanzania, Gertruda Domayo struggled to
provide for her grandchildren. As a member of Soya ni Pesa, a
Catholic Relief Services project that means “soybeans are money,” she's learned that small changes make a big difference.
Those changes have led to healthier food for her family--and are
inspiring others in her community to take action.

World Day for Consecrated Life will be celebrated in the
Church on the weekend of February 7-8, 2015. Please pray for all
those who have made commitments in the consecrated life, and be
sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be
inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God's gift of
their vocation. Pray also for those who are discerning a vocation
to Consecrated Life, and invite those who may be called to consider it.
Spring 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign
LITTLE ROCK WILL NOT HOST A 40 DAYS FOR LIFE THIS
SPRING, BUT THE NATIONAL EVENT NEEDS PRAYERS FOR
ITS SUCCESS.
Focus this spring in Little Rock will be on renewed efforts to
build up Christ's army of prayer warriors to keep vigil, not just for
40 days at a time, but throughout the year. The first campaign
here in 2008 resulted in a small group of people who asked “Why
stop now?” Many babies' lives have been saved through the prayers offered on the sidewalk at the abortion clinic, but more people
and prayers are needed. Dozens of lives are ended each week in
our community; is God asking you to join us? For just one hour a
week? All lives matter and the tragedy of abortion must end. For
more information call Marsha Boss 960-5051.
SAVE THE DATE!
Arkansas Right to Life and Black Arkansans for Life will host a
special event with Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr., on February 18th, Ash Wednesday. This is a “Don't Miss” opportunity to hear one of our country's leading pro-life voices.
Watch the bulletin for more details.

Stewardship
Question of the Week
“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted
place, where he prayed…He told them, ‘Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I
come.’” – Mark 1:35, 38
In today’s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that God wishes - healing the
sick and preaching. Yet, Jesus also makes time to be alone in
prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find
the strength to do what God wishes us to do. Be sure to find time
every day to be with God.

The Holy Father’s Intentions - February
Universal: That pr isoner s, especially the young, may be
able to rebuild lives of dignity.
Evangelization: That mar r ied people who ar e separ ated
may find welcome and support in the Christian community.
With Lent less than two weeks away, how will my renewed
commitment to baptized discipleship express itself in service
to others? Does my daily schedule resemble at all Jesus’
balance of serious prayer and compassionate work on behalf
of others?
Collection for the Church in Central and
Eastern Europe
Next week we will take up the Collection for the Church in
Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports Catholic
organizations that provide affordable shelter and train seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of Soviet
rule. By providing pastoral care, catechesis, and funding for
building renovations, your donations help to restore the
Church and build the future in the r egion. Please give generously to the collection next week. Visit www.usccb.org
(search “Church in Central and Eastern Europe”) to learn
more.
Altar Server Training
The Altar Server training will take place on Sunday, February
8th after the 11am Mass. Lunch will be provided for those
who attend. Adults and children who have made their First
Communion are eligible. Attendance is required for those
who serve. Please consider being a part of this much needed
ministry.
Mass Intentions The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the highest form of prayer and the most efficacious prayer we can offer for
our loved ones, living/deceased. Call the Parish Office to schedule a Mass for your family and friends.
from 9:30 am – 1200 Noon in the
church.
Minister to the Poor
Are you looking for a hands-on opportunity to minister to the
poor in our area? We are looking for one or more volunteers to
transport donated food from the Argenta Farmers Market to Abba House once a week on Saturdays. Donations will begin in
March and continue through October or November. If you are
interested, please contact Christina Laurin at 501-590-6401.
