2011 Amedisys Mardi Gras Mambo Review
On February 5, 2011, the Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation hosted the 13th annual
Amedisys Mardi Gras Mambo 10k and 1 Mile Fun Run and set a new record for runners
registered in the event. Over 1,300 runners registered for the 2011 Mambo, far exceeding
previous records. The spirit of Mardi Gras was definitely in full swing as participants
“mamboed” their way through the new race course, winding through the LSU campus, past
University Lake, and finishing near the LSU Natatorium.
2011 Overall Amedisys Mardi Gras Mambo Champions:
Overall Male: Kevin Castille: 30:29
Overall Female Winner: Jackie Pearce: 39:53
Thanks to everyone who registered and participated in the 2011 Amedisys Mardi Gras Mambo and
a special thanks to all of our sponsors:
Join us again on February 25, 2012 for the 14th Annual Amedisys Mardi Gras Mambo!
We look forward to seeing you there!

THEY WILL BE BACK!
In 2005, Baton Rouge hosted the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships and, after six
months of competition and an influx of 65,000 bowlers over six months, the event left
approximately $70 million here in our community.
In February of 2012, USBC brings the Open Championships back to the Baton Rouge RiverCenter. The
2012 tournament is expected to draw 70,000 bowlers and bring an estimated $100 million of
economic impact to the Baton Rouge area. USBC, bowling’s national governing body as recognized by
the US Olympic Committee, is the largest athletic travel group in the world. It comprises over 3,000
local associations and the organization’s membership exceeds 2 million bowlers.
