The College often has students arrive at the boarding house, without any toiletries. So our branch has decided to help the school and provide a toilet bag for those students filled with products. We have made up bags for girls and for boys. In each bag we have put shampoo, conditioners, soap or shower gel, a flannel, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, small pack of tissues and a hairbrush or comb. Our branch purchased most of the products, however some products were donated and some purchased from Bindoon IGA at a discounted price. We delivered 20 bags to the school late January. Sam Godfrey the Boarding House Mistress accepted our gifts. Presenting to Catholic Ag. College. L-R Mrs Cathy Brown (CWA), Ms Sam Godfrey (Cath. Ag.College), Mrs Carolyn Cover (CWA) and Mrs Margaret Trigg (CWA). More bags will be donated to the school as they require them. This officer is available to assist your clubs to identify club needs, challenges and gaps, support your club in seeking funding and sponsorship opportunities and; acts as a liaison between your club and the Shire of Chittering. One of the biggest issues that has been highlighted for sporting clubs and community groups within the Shire of Chittering is the capacity to draw new and younger memberships. This issue has strong links with the Shire of Chittering's Youth Strategy 2015 - 2018 and is a major focus of the Chittering Youth Krew who are passionate about keeping young people in the local area by having events, activities, services and spaces for young people to access. One of the main aims for the Youth Krew is to work alongside community groups, sports clubs and businesses to improve youth engagement and participation. Please contact Lisa at the Shire or connect through Chittering Youth Krew and Friends Facebook page if your club is interested in discussing this issue or has some ideas of how to improve youth memberships.
