iTown@SG
HOW DOES IT WORK?
STEP 01
iTown@SG is a free mobile application developed to better serve
and connect with residents. Residents can submit their feedback on
maintenance issues via the app, and it will be automatically routed to the
respective Town Councils.
• Launch it on your iPhone or Android phone • Make a feedback report simply by following these steps:
Select an image
source. Take a photo,
choose from your
picture library, or
submit a feedback
report without a photo.
STEP 02
Select the location of
your report.
Describe the issue and
submit the report.
STEP 03
The information will be
directed to the relevant
town council, which
can then resolve the
problem.

Take a close look at the common corridor just outside your
home. Is the passageway in any way obstructed? Are there
unauthorised fixtures along the corridor, such as fixed clothes
racks and bicycle racks? Is there bulky refuse along the
corridor?
If you’ve answered “yes” to any of the questions above, then
your common corridor is a potential safety and fire hazard.
Be aware of the risks posed by cluttered corridors, and do your
part to keep them clear and safe.
DON’T WAIT UNTIL DISASTER STRIKES
In 2012, there were more than 700 cases of residential fires
involving discarded items at common spaces such as corridors,
lift lobbies, staircases, and void decks.
In May 2012, two fires broke out at HDB blocks in Marsiling and
Toa Payoh, destroying the homes of more than 20 families. It
is believed that the clutter at the lift landings—which included
bicycles, used mattresses, a dining table, and a refrigerator,
among other things—played a major part in fuelling the fires.
During an emergency, clutter along common corridors can
obstruct the movement of emergency crew and firefighting
equipment. Cluttered corridors also make evacuation difficult,
which may lead to injuries or even fatalities.
Please do not endanger the lives of your family and neighbours by placing your bulky refuse/items at the common corridors.

PERFECT VISION
FOR CHRISTMAS
As a belated Christmas gift, some 165 Bedok Sunflower residents on the Community Health Assist
Scheme (CHAS), together with selected low-income students from Bedok Green Primary School,
received complimentary prescription spectacles on 29 December. They had received eye checkups
two weeks earlier, jointly organised by Bedok Bungah Merah and Sunflower RCs, supported by Vision
Ease Eyewear Boutique. The students were also given school bags full of stationery and treated to a
magic show, while a resident Santa Claus spread cheer amidst the activities.

CHANGI SIMEI WELLNESS DAY 2013

and balloon sculpting. There were free talks on vision, fall prevention and TCM, as well as joint care
massages and a bone mass density test. Residents also participated in a ‘meridian flapping exercise’
to promote better health.
