Examview Assessment Suite
To create a test, you will use Examview Test Generator. The test generator is found in Teacher Apps.
On the start screen, click on Create a New Test From Scratch.
Give Your Test a Title and Click OK
Click OK
To Preview Questions before adding them to your test, click on Select>While Viewing
If you do not see your bank of questions listed, click on the folder and look for I:ExamView/Banks
Once you locate the bank, click Select
Click on the chapter/unit that you want and click Select. Click Next.
To add the question to your test, click on the box beside the question. Once you are finished adding
questions, click on Finish.
To edit a question, double click it and make your changes. Make sure to click on RECORD to save your
changes.
To add a question of your own, click on new.
Select the type of question you want to create and click OK.
Type your question and answer and click RECORD.
To insert a picture in your question or answers, click on insert.
Click the down arrow to browse to where your picture is saved.
After inserting your pictures, make sure to c lick RECORD.
Saving Your Test
Click on File>Save As
Click on the down arrow and look for the I drive. You will save in I, ExamView, Tests, Grade Level or
Dept, Your name. This saves your test so that it may be edited in the future.
Creating a Test By Standard
If you do not see your bank of questions listed, click on the folder and look for I:ExamView/Banks
Click the down arrow and select State Standard.
Enter your selections and click select.
Saving Your Test To Give Over The LAN
Click on File>Publish To>Examview Test Player or LAN
Click on Limit access to students in a particular class. Click Next.
Click Save
This step is VERY important. Click the down arrow. Navigate to I>Examview>Test>Grade Level or
Dept>Your Name. You will save your test in the folder with your name.
If you look in your Test folder, you have created 2 different kinds of files for this test. You
created a .eot file. The .eot file is the test that is given using ExamView Player. The .tst file is
the file that you will edit if you want to make changes to the test.
Examview Test Manager- Open Examview Test Manager from Teacher Apps. Examview Test
Manager is what you will use to run reports and get results from tests.
Click on Start a New Class
Enter your class name and password. You may enter other information is you desire, but I only
entered my class name and password.
To enter new students, click on new student.
Complete the information and click next to continue entering more students. When you are
finished click OK.
To use CPS, make sure to enter the PAD ID for each student.
To add your assignment, click on new assignment
Name your assignment. On Step 2, click on online test delivered over the LAN. Click Next.
Click on the folder to find your test. It should be saved in I>Examview>Tests>Your Grade
Level/Dept.>Your Name. Once you find your folder, click on Select and select your test.
I select allow students to take the test multiple times. I do this in case there are technical difficulties. If
the computer freezes and you didn’t select this, the students will be locked out of the test. If it will take
them more than one class period, you will want to click over multiple sessions. Click Next.
Enter a password for the test. If you want to limit when the test is taken, you enter that and click next.
Make your selections and click Next.
I do NOT allow students to check their responses. They can go back and change their answer and it
won’t count it wrong if you select this option. Select what information you want students to see after
completing the test. Click Next and then Finish.
Click File>Save As
Click the down arrow to browse to the location to save this file. You should save it in
I>ExamView>Classes>Your Grade Level>Dept./Your Name.
Name your class and save.
To Get Test Results from the LAN-Click on the assignment. Click on the computer. The score may be in
points. Click here for percentage.
Reports- Click on Report.
Check out the Performance Summary and the Class Performance Progress Chart.
You can select By State Standard….
Taking the Test as the Student- The students will go to Student Apps and Click on Examview Player.
The student enters his/her name and ID. Click Next.
Click the folder to browse to I>Examview>Tests>Your Grade Level/Dept.>Your Name. Click on your test
and click Next.
Enter the password and click next
Click Start
Select the correct answer. Click the arrow to go to the next question.
When you have finished the test click END.
