Talented Musician
Kaleb Rinck, fr eshman, taught himself to play the piano
and performs music by ear, a natural ability that comes easily
to him. Not just single notes; full chords. But for many, including those who have studied music, playing by ear is a skill that
takes a great deal of time to
cultivate. KUGR-TV recently featured Kaleb on Episode
14. Tune in to hear him at

Hockey
Coronado’s hockey team started the month of January with a
devastating loss against Denver East Angels, but ended with a
decisive victory! Losing Tanner Pochipinski and Ian Wark to
injury and playing several games Jake Winger, the team
spent most of the month trying to regroup, until Saturday
night.
Climbing Club

Bowling
Yes, Coronado has
a bowling team!
This is not affiliated
with the bowling
class taught by
Coach Christensen,
but a full-fledged
extra-curricular competitive league team. Our RED team comprised of Michael Bauers, Anthony Scrivens, Brandin Maestas,
and Jamie Rumble have qualified for state competition.
On January 30 the Cougars were a team reunited in their
victory over Air Academy. Tanner Pochipinski got the
Cougars fired up with a first period goal, assisted by
defenseman Jonah Henry. Chris Phillips str uck next with a
power play goal on a pass from Jake Winger. The team skated
to the locker room with renewed confidence and a 2-0 lead.
Marley Machin got in on the action at the star t of the
second with an unassisted goal. Machin and Max Van Lancker
both were credited for goals scored by Tanner Pochipinski and
Tanner Mayberry. Pochipinski ended the second period with
a hat trick, assists by Andrew Burton and Tanner
Mayberry. Beau Foos and the defensemen, Max Van Lanker,
Jake Winger, Jonah Henry, Trevor Gordon and Matt Reynolds
were looking for a shut out in the third, however, Air
Academy scored in the last minute and a half. A little too
late for the Kadets as Foos made 28 saves on 29 shots and
the Cougars came off the ice with a 6-1 victory.
