Events: 7/1 – Meeting 7/22 – Meeting 7/8 - Meeting 7/29– Meeting 7/15 – Meeting Hawaiian Cultural Club By Sharon Tulba Aloha Mai, On June 9th our club members went on an outing headed for the Pali. As we left the Pali we went to visit an area near the entrance the entrance of the Royal Hawaii, Golf Course, where in 1878 Queen Liliuokalani had visited the ranch where Edwin Boyd resided. While riding home on horseback she turned to look at the view of Kaneohe bay when she saw Colonel James Boyd and a young lady. The inspiration for the song Aloha Oe came when she saw the two people slowly and affectionately bid each other farewell. A hui hou.
