What a great 2013 Annual Meeting! President Jan Cwikla issued the call to order, Prime Bishop
Anthony Mikovsky gave the Invocation and Manager Karen Rieder welcomed the 41 members and guests
in attendance on March 2, 2013.
Secretary Joan Scheuneman presented the 2012 meeting minutes for
approval. President Cwikla reflected on the current economic environment and
the importance of volunteers to Spojnia Credit Union. Most importantly, he
thanked the members, “your interest and input help guide the direction of the
SCU for the benefit of all its’ members and organizations.”

Membership Officer Debbie Migliori reported that Spojnia Credit Union membership

Chairman of the Nominating Committee, Carol Mikovsky, presented the
nominees for election. The election results, as chaired by Edmund Kotula, are
as follows: Board of Directors - Jan S. Cwikla and John F. Ostroski, Jr., Supervisory Committee - Reverend Carmen G. Bolock and Credit Committee Mary Lou Crispino. Each will serve a three year term.
The Most Reverend Emeritus Swantek gave the closing prayer.
With the business of the credit union completed, all in attendance were
treated to a catered buffet. Everyone enjoyed fellowship, numerous door prizes and a special tour of the PNCC Archives

of the PNCC History and Archives Commission,
explained the history of the various items on display, including the trunk
and the vestments of Prime Bishop Francis Hodur. The Next Annual
Meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 1, 2014

2014 Vacation Club
The 2013 Vacation Club Checks have been disbursed. Now is the time to sign up or renew your 2014 Vacation
Club.
The new rate for 2014 will be .15% APR (Annual Percentage Rate) The club runs for 50 weeks and checks will be
disbursed April 1, 2014.
Weekly and monthly deposits are available in increments of $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 or an amount determined by
you not to exceed $5000.00 total. A lump sum payment may be made as well.

Youth Week
National Credit Union Youth Week is April 21-27, 2013. This year’s theme is
“Savings Sleuth, Solve the Mystery”. Spojnia Credit Union will be celebrating
the whole month of April by challenging our youth to make deposits into their
share
accounts.
The
goal
this
year
is
$2000.00.
As a bonus incentive, for every deposit of $10.00 an entry will be made in
your name for a special prize. Deposit $20 and get two entries, $40 get four
entries. One winner will be selected from each age group. Winners will be notified in May 2013. All deposits must be completed or postmarked by April
30, 2013. Last year we received deposits of $2579.44 surpassing our
$1500.00 goal. Can we do it again?

The 2013 Spojnia Credit Union Scholarship
applications are due May 1, 2013. Applications
were sent in February 2013 to those credit
union youth members who may be graduating
this spring from high school.

Sallie Mae®. With college costs growing fast, it’s time to borrow smarter. The
loan offers multiple repayment options and competitive interest rates to help you
pay for college expenses not covered by scholarships and federal loans.
Applying with a creditworthy cosigner may help you qualify and/or receive a lower interest rate.
Borrower must attend an eligible school, be enrolled in an eligible program and a
Spojnia Credit Union member. U.S. citizens enrolled in study abroad programs or
studying at medical schools outside the United States are also eligible. Must meet
current credit and other eligibility criteria.

The credit union will award one $500.00 scholarship in June to a member who is furthering
their education at the next level and is in good
standing with Spojnia Credit Union.
