These times must be strictly adhered to as there is a show the weekend before and the week after us.

Porters will be available with utility vehicles to help with move in and move out between 7 am and 7 PM each day.

Horses and Ponies moved within Ohio for exhibition:
1.
If not under quarantine and if they are free of any signs of a contagious or infectious disease; and
2.
If the animal is twelve months of age or older, the exhibition manager may require that the animal has been tested and classed negative to an
official test for equine infection anemia within twelve months of the closing date of the exhibition.
*NOTE: THE OHIO STATE FAIR MANAGEMENT WILL NOT REQUIRE OHIO HORSES TO BE TESTED FOR EQUINE INFECTION ANEMIA
(B)
Horses and Ponies Imported Into Ohio for exhibition:
Shall be accompanied by an official certificate of veterinary inspection issued within thirty days of the opening date of the exhibition (July 15, 2016); and If
the animal is twelve months of age or older, it shall be accompanied by evidence the animal was negative to an official test for Equine Infection Anemia
within six months of the opening date of the exhibition (July 15, 2016); and
Upon request by an authorized representative of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the person responsible for each animal must make available a
chronological list of dates, places and events attended by this animal within thirty days prior to entry into Ohio.
NOTE: ALL OUT OF STATE HORSES IMPORTED INTO OHIO MUST HAVE A NEGATIVE EQUINE INFECTION ANEMIA (EIA) TEST WITHIN SIX
MONTHS OF THE OPENING DATE OF THE EXHIBITION AND PRESENT THE ORIGINAL COGGINS PAPERS TO THE STATE VETERINARIANS
UPON ARRIVAL.
DEPARTURE OF HORSES
Exhibitors or their agents must obtain a release from the STALL OFFICE before removing horses from the show grounds. CAMPER SPACE
There will be limited camper space for exhibitors north of 17th Avenue. Both partial hook-up and full hook-up is available on a first come first serve basis.
Horses are not allowed north of 17th Ave. Non compliance will result in animals to be barred from further participation at this show. Electrical outlets will be
available in camper space only. No tents allowed. Permits may be purchased at Gate Entrance to camper area.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
This Show is held using guidelines from each breed association: ASHA, AHHS, AMHR, ASPCR, UPHA, ADHHR Exhibitors are responsible for knowledge
of Show Rules.
RULES GOVERNING REGISTRATION WILL BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED IN ALL BREEDS SHOWN. The following classes and/or divisions at this show
are not conducted under the rules of USEF, but rather they are conducted under the rules of their respective breed associations. Some special conditions
may be addressed. Please check individual pages.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The State of Ohio, through the Ohio Expositions Commission, the Horse Show Committee, the General Manager and his employees, herein after referred
to as the management, will not be responsible for any damages to person, animal, or property at the show, or on the grounds, nor will be responsible for
any property lost or destroyed. Each exhibitor shall indemnify and save the Management, harmless from all claims and demands of any kind or nature
arising from such exhibitor, his employees, animals, or property exhibiting on or in the show grounds. Judges may not award prize to an unworthy exhibit. It
is the intention of the Ohio State Fair Management that no recognition of any kind shall be given to any animal or article that is not deserving. This rule
must be strictly adhered to whether or not there is competition. EXHIBITOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES
1.DISCIPLINE
Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of the owner, groom or driver, will disqualify the horse. This
applies in or out of the ring and while on the Show Grounds. This includes ANY employee of the Horse Show Office, or any Ohio State Fair employee.
HORSES ARE NOT ALLOWED BEYOND THE GREEN WALL IN THE GILLIGAN BUILDING AT ANY TIME. THOSE VIOLATING THIS WILL BE ASKED
TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS
2.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Public consumption of alcoholic beverages on the Ohio State Fair Grounds is prohibited.
3.
POSTED SIGNS
All posted signs or instructions, whatever they may be, will be strictly enforced. Any discourtesy to any Fair Official, State Highway Patrol or other officials
wearing official badges will subject the exhibitors to the penalties listed below.
4.
DISCOURTESY
Any discourtesy to any Fair Official, State Highway Patrol or other officials wearing official badges will cause the person, their stable and their owners to
forfeit any earnings won at the Ohio State Fair Horse Show. The entire stable may be asked to leave the grounds whether they are finished showing or not.
5.
LIABILITY
All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or other properties on the show grounds and
will be billed accordingly. Failure to make payment will subject the exhibitor to the penalties listed below.
6.
DOGS
**Dogs will only be permitted on the grounds under the following conditions.
Dogs MUST be on a leash or confined in a stall. No Dogs will be tethered in the aisle, or running loose in the aisle. No dogs are allowed in the coliseum.
Failure to comply in this will be cause for expulsion from fairgrounds.
**THERE WILL BE NO SKATEBOARDS, HOVERBOARD,BICYCLES, DRONE,ROLLERBLADES OR SKATES ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS.
NOTE: Violation of any of the
provisions listed above will subject the Entry and/or Exhibitor to such penalty as the Management may impose, including disqualification’s, removal from
the grounds, forfeiting all awards, entry and stall fees, as well as refusal of future entries.
USEF MEMBERSHIP NO LONGER REQUIRED
Arena Footing: the footing is sand and some wood shavings the arena size is 300' X 175'. Solid sides of vinyl covered wood. ENTRIES & POST ENTRIES
Pre Fair Competitions
AMERICAN SADDLEBRED, SADDLE SEAT EQUITATION, HACKNEY, AMHR, MORGAN, OPEN, FRIESIAN , SHETLAND, AMERICAN SHOW PONY &
PARADE
Closing Date for Stalls at Regular price will be July 1, 2016 All stall reservations must be accompanied with full payment and exhibitor or agent must fill out
the stabling sheet or there is no guarantee stalls will be together as requested.
**Exhibitors who want stall together must send together in the same envelope.
After July 1, 2016. Add $20 additional to each stall. Box stalls will be $75.00 and Tack Stalls will be $90.00. Those who do not pay for stalls prior to arrival
may not have stalls available.
Entries can be made until July 1, 2016 at no additional post entry fee. Entries made after July 1, 2016 will have an additional 50% of entry fee added.
Horses that are not entered before arrival may not have stall space available.
Entries received with postmarks after July 1, 2016 pay a stall penalty as well as an additional 50% entry fee. READ – IMPORTANT
All entries must be submitted with a check covering all fees by the dates below. THIS MEANS POSTMARKED BY:
Light Horse & AMHR entries close for stabling on July 1, 2016. Entry forms that are fill able are available on line for electronic submission. After this date
the Horse Show reserves the right to refuse entries due to availability of stalls.
All signature lines must be signed. If no signatures are on the entry blank, the entry form and check will be returned and will not be processed until received
back. All entries must still meet the deadline.
ENTRY SUBMISSION
Every entry shall constitute an agreement that the owner, Agent, Trainer, Driver, Rider, as well as the Horse shall comply with the rules of the Ohio State
Fair Horse Show as guided by rules of ASHA, AHHS, ASPCR, AMHR & AMHA.
In making entries please comply with the following requirements:

Give all application information
(b)
Only One Owner (owner or lessee of horses) per entry blank
(c)
Address must be home address and not stable
(d)
Signed by owner or Agent, as well as trainer where applicable. A trainer is defined as “Any adult or adults who has the responsibility for the care,
training, custody or performance of a horse.” Said person must sign the entry blank of any recognized show whether said person be the owner, rider,
agent, coach, adult or minor, as well as trainer. Where a minor exhibitor has no trainer, a parent or guardian must sign and assume responsibility of trainer.
The name of the trainer must be designated as such on the entry blank. It shall be the responsibility of Show Management to see that entry blanks contain
all the required information.
(e)
CALL OR WRITE OUR OFFICE AND WE WILL SEND ADDITIONAL ENTRY BLANKS OR DOWNLOAD FROM THE WEBSITE.
(f)
Class errors on entry forms are the responsibility of the exhibitor and cannot be changed at the show without paying post-entry fee (exceptionmeasurement)
(g)
The following credentials must be available to show management and steward/technical delegate.

(h)
Entry fees may not be switched to avoid the payment of post entry fees.
(i)
Effective 12/01/84 a copy of the registration papers showing proof of ownership on all American Saddlebred Horses must be presented to the horse
show office before the show number is released.
(j)
Anyone that shows in a class they are not entered in will be charged double the entry fee! And, they may be disqualified. This continues to be a
major issue and premium checks may not be issued to any exhibitor who walks into a class without fees being paid!
(k)
No Canadian Checks accepted. Please send certified check or money order.
(l)
If the owner or exhibitor is less than 18 years of age, the entry blank must be signed by a representative who is of age and who by such a
signature, individually assures responsibility and risk as stated above in the signature. The Horse Show Management assumes no responsibility and this
shall be a condition of entry. IF A PARENT IS NOT AN ASHA MEMBER, ASHA NON-MEMBER FEE MUST BE PAID.
POST ENTRIES & SCRATCHES READ CAREFULLY
No additions will be accepted on the day that the class is being held, except for championships that have a qualifying class on the same day. Please
scratch if you do not intend to show. We will have a 2-minute gait call on all classes. DO NOT be shut out. Be courteous to other exhibitors and the Judge
by scratching if you do not intend to show
Post entries will be accepted for horses & equitation riders entered in the show prior to the closing date of entries.
Horses that have been previously entered may post enter additional classes at 1-1/2 times the regular entry fee, except for championships, which will be at
the regular fee. Post entry deadlines for classes will be by 5 PM. the evening prior to the class, except halter championships. See championships in
respected sections or divisions. Entries which fail to qualify while performing in a qualifying class by reasons of equipment repair, shoeing time or illness
(certified by the official veterinarian) shall be permitted to make a post entry, at double fee, in another qualifying class of the section, if available, provided
the horse has previously been nominated in the Championship or stake. Entries of this nature must be made at least one hour before the session in which
the class is shown.
SUBSTITUTION
In the event of the sale or injury to a horse after the closing date of entries, show management will permit an exhibitor to post enter another of his own
horses. Original fees can be transferred but post entry fee will be charged for additional classes entered. Sale of Horse requires “Bonified unconditional
notarized bill of sale.”
Veterinarian Certificate: If other than from the Horse Show's Official Veterinarian, this certificate must give a diagnosis of the Injury, printed name, address,
telephone number of issuing, as well as signature of veterinarian.
CHAMPIONSHIPS & STAKES
To be eligible horses must have been entered, shown and judged in any other class of its division or section. Championships must be entered in show
office the evening prior to session in which the class is shown.
To be “shown and judged” in any class in which horses compete together, an animal must perform at all required gaits both ways of the ring in the original
workout and must remain in the ring, up to the point of the judge excusing it. (See exceptions in “Post Entries” above)
For entries and nomination in any CHAMPIONSHIPS see specifications included in the respective CHAMPIONSHIPS
Exhibitors qualifying more than one horse for the same championship of any specific section or division may elect to show only one.
CANCELLATIONS OF ENTRIES
Exhibitors MUST cancel entries in writing prior to closing date of entries, Light Horse Division June 19, 2016. If canceled on or before, June 19, 2016
depending on the division into which the entries are made, the entire fee excluding exhibitor passes, parking passes and a $25.00 processing fee shall be
returned to the exhibitor. Refunds are done after the fair in October.
(a)
The Management reserves to itself the right to refuse, accept conditionally, and to cancel any entries and awards or prizes as prohibited.
REFUNDS
There will be no refund of either entry or stall fees for any reason after the closing date of entries.
EXCEPTION: Death of horse. A signed and dated vet certificate must be presented to the horse show office, prior to the day the first class entered is to be
shown. Signature on the entry blank signifies your understanding of this important rule!!!!!!!
No refunds issued for amount less than $10.00. Please double-check your addition. Refund checks issued & mailed separately from premium checks.
SCRATCHES
All horses that are not going to be shown MUST BE OFFICIALLY SCRATCHED AT THE HORSE SHOW OFFICE PRIOR TO THE CLASS. Any exhibitor
who does not officially scratch their entry at the office, paddock or announcer will be accessed a $50.00 fee. And, if not paid, no premium checks will be
mailed. Notifications will not be accepted by phone. Official scratch forms must be used to make scratches unless it is due to equipment failure or accident
in the warm up ring prior to the class.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE ON SCRATCHED ENTRIES!!! FEES WILL NOT BE TRANSFERED IF YOU SCRATCH A CLASS.
Exhibitors must notify the secretary of scratches one (1) hour before the session. A fee of $50.00 will be assessed any exhibitor who fails to properly notify
of any scratches

Each pony or horse that is shown in the UPHA Classics must have been made eligible by payment of an Eligibility Fee of in accordance with the rules of
the program. The show schedule notes the times that Classic payments are due.
UPHA CHALLENGE CUP & EQUITATION CLASSES
Beginning in 1999, all junior and adult riders exhibiting in any UPHA Challenge Cup class (17 & under, 14 - 17, 13 & under, 10 & under Walk/Trot, Adult,
Breed, etc.) must become a recorded Junior (17 & Under) or an Associate (18 & over) member of the UPHA, Inc. and have an assigned membership
number. This number is to be recorded with the exhibitor's name on the entry form. Exhibitors will not receive credit for any qualification until they are a
registered member. Membership forms can be obtained by calling the UPHA offices at (859) 231-5070. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to return the form
to the UPHA offices in Lexington, KY.
EXHIBITOR PASSES - NO PASSES ARE REQUIRED FOR PRE FAIR DIVISION
PARKING PERMITS PRE FAIR EXHIBITORS PURCHASE AT THE GATE NO NEED TO PRE PURCHASE UNLOADING — LOADING RESTRICTIONS
Horses must be unloaded in barn area but VANS, TRUCKS AND TRAILERS MUST BE REMOVED FROM AREA IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER. There
will be no parking of any vehicles in the barn area and all vehicles must be parked in designated areas. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE
OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL. If necessary, a tow truck on the grounds will be used to remove any vehicles parked in undesignated areas or left
parked longer than the State Highway Patrol deems necessary for loading or unloading.
BEDDING — FIRST BEDDING WILL NOT BE FURNISHED Sawdust and sand are not to be used for bedding, due to the difficulty in contracting for the
disposal of manure containing these materials. PREFERRED BEDDING IS STRAW. Wood Shavings is acceptable.
PLACE ALL BEDDING BAGS NEXT TO THE REFUGE BARRELS IN THE BARN!!
FEED: The Ohio State Fair contracts with a concessionaire for the operation of a feed store on the grounds. Exhibitors may bring their own feed and
bedding. All purchases made during the show must be from the feed concession. NO OUTSIDE VENDORS WILL BE PERMITTED TO MAKE
DELIVERIES ON THE SHOW GROUNDS.
ATTIRE AND ENTRANCE TO RING

All riders, drivers, headers and handlers must be appropriately dressed and strictly adhere to conditions governing appointment classes. ALL EXHIBITORS
AND ATTENDANTS MUST BE NEATLY ATTIRED IN PROPER HORSE SHOW DRESS. PERSONS WHO ARE IN BARN/WORK CLOTHES WILL NOT
BE ADMITTED TO THE SHOW RING DURING A PERFORMANCE. ENTRANCE TO THE RING MUST BE THRU A GATE OR DOOR. THESE RULES
WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN THE ENTRY BEING EXCUSED FROM COMPETITION.
General Manager of the Ohio Expo Center & State Fair has made the following ruling regarding roping/closing of aisles in The Gilligan Complex during the
2016 Ohio State Fair.
1.
All aisles must be open to the general public during non-show hours.
2.
Aisles may be closed from 11 PM each night until 6 am each morning.
3.
Chairs must not be used to block the aisles
4.
Aisles may be closed one hour prior to each session
5.
Lights in the horse show barn MUST remain on at all times for security reasons. WASH RACKS
Wash racks are located at various locations throughout the barn. For the purpose of safety, do not wash horses in the aisles of the stabling area, in front of
the barn on the mall side or run water hoses to your stalls.
BOX STALLS & STALL FEES
Box Stalls are $55.00 for entries made before the closing. Stalls are permanent 10' x 10' with sliding doors. Any entry specifying unconditional
requirements, which cannot be met by management, will be returned to the exhibitor. Stall Fee must be paid on each horse. No Adjustments in trainers stall
counts will be made after Tuesday July12, 2016. The trainer will be responsible for all stalls not on their client’s separate account.
TACK STALLS
Tack Stall, $70.00 — Due to limited stabling facilities, tack stalls are available only to stables using four horse stalls or more. (A tack stall is any stall used
for any purpose other than stabling a horse.) Absolutely no stalls rented for any purpose other than horses, tack, and feed. Stalls are not to be used for
sleeping or cooking! No large appliances may be plugged into the outlets in the barn. All fans must use heavy-duty extension cords – no household
extension cords.
STALL DAMAGES
There will be NO removal of doors or fronts of tack stalls for decorations. Tack Stall decorations will be limited to hanging curtains on the fronts of the Stalls
and application of plastic, tent top or tarp roof. NO NAILS OR STAPLES ARE ALLOWED. The building maintenance supervisor will be checking your stalls
before you leave and any damages will be charged to you at that time. Exhibitors are responsible for all damages. Cost per each panel damaged could be
between $60.00 and $250.00
ARENA & WORK RING FOOTING
Footing in the official work ring and the show arena will be a combination of sand and dirt. The show arena is 300’X175’. Work ring will be limited in its use.
Cooper arena will be available for use to work horses the week of July 17-21 every day & evening. Those participating in the session that is underway shall
be the only ones permitted to be in the overhang work ring during show times. A work schedule for the outside arena and the show will be posted and those
posted times will be strictly enforced. Anyone violating the posted schedule will be subject to expulsion from the grounds for the duration of the show.
SHARPS CONTAINERS
Sharps containers are conveniently placed along the center isle of the barn for use of disposal for medical waste accumulating from the treatment of horses
housed in the Gilligan Complex. Management reserves the right to fine any individual for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable
instruments.
FIRE MARSHAL REGULATION

Electrical equipment used by exhibitors shall be properly shielded, grounded if necessary for safe operation and all electrical cords shall be in good
condition without breaks in insulation. All electrical plugs shall have covers to insulate wire of connections from receptacle faces. The State of Ohio Fire
Marshals office may inspect at any time all electrical equipment and may impound for the duration of the Fair, any equipment considered unsafe. NOTE: All
electrical cords must be Underwriters’ Laboratory Approved.

submitted with each competitive entry. When completing the W-9 Form please be sure to carefully read and follow the form's instructions. Payment of cash
premiums to the successful competitor will be made according to the information, thus the W-9 Form should be completed consistently with how the
competitor is registered with the Internal Revenue Service. The Expositions Commission will not make payment of any amount without a properly
completed Form W-9. NO PREMIUM WILL BE MAILED WITHOUT A CURRENT W-9 FORM BEING FILED IN 2016. ALL PREMIUM WILL BE PAID

CONDUCT OF SHOW RING PROCEDURE
Exhibitors are hereby notified that entries in all collective classes will be allowed a maximum of two minutes to enter the ring from the time the first horse
enters the ring. Official timers will be appointed. IF EXHIBITOR FEELS A CONFLICT COULD OCCUR, CHOOSE EVENT MOST DESIRED.
ADMISSION TO ARENA
No person shall be permitted to enter the arena, except participants in the class showing, judges, officials and their assistants. Attendants will not be
permitted in the arena until summoned by order of judge. Entry numbers shall be worn on the rider or driver’s back and shall be clearly visible at all times
when in competition. The judge may penalize exhibitors without visible back numbers.
BREAKAGE OF EQUIPMENT
An exhibitor is entitled to request suspension of judging for a period not to exceed five minutes, in aggregate, in order to repair broken equipment, replace a
shoe or rectify a similar accident. The exhibitor must go to the center of the ring for any such emergency, which will constitute a request for time out. Time
shall be taken from the moment the exhibitor goes to the center of the ring, except in the event of a horse casting a shoe, time shall start (after weighing has
concluded, if applicable) when the Farrier or his assistant touches the shoe or when he enters the ring, which ever comes first. If a rider or driver is not
involved in the “time out” he may make minor adjustments that can be performed with the assistance of one attendant, within that time, and not be charged
with a “time out”.
MEASUREMENT OF ENTRIES
Beginning December 1, 1982, management shall not permit an animal to be shown in a performance class at this Show in any division or section that
requires a Measurement Card unless the owner is in possession of a Measurement Card or Certified Card issued by the USEF bearing the date of 1982 or
later or unless he possesses a copy of a valid Measurement Form and, except at a Local Member Show, shall not give out an exhibitor’s number for an
animal showing in a division or section that requires a Measurement Card before the above requirements have been complied with.
Entries will be measured at the West End of the center core (by the horse show office), in the complex. Scheduled times will be posted. Please bring
credentials with you when being measured.
CREDENTIALS
PARTICIPANTS NOT SENDING COPIES OF ALL MEMBERSHIP CREDENTIALS AND REGISTRATION PAPERS WITH ENTRIES WILL HAVE THEIR
ENTRIES DELAYED UNTIL THE CREDENTIALS ARE SUBMITTED. THIS MAY MAKE THE ENTRIES LATE AND A LATE FEE WILL BE CHARGED.
All entrants must have the proper association memberships to participate, ASHA, AHHS, AMHR/ASPCR. Please send a copy along with your entries. If you
do not show your card when your back numbers are picked up, you will either need to pay $5.00 and sign a membership affidavit or pay the full membership
fee. Neither will be refunded. You will need the card (s) when you come to the horse show office. If you sign an affidavit and you are not a member, you will
be fined $100.00. Cards are needed for: TRAINER, DRIVER, HANDLER, OWNER, RIDER, AGENT, LESSEE. All exhibitors in the Pony, Hackney/Harness,
Roadster, and Shetland sections must present their measurement cards at the office before numbers will be released. All ponies that do not have a current
measurement card will be measured at a time and place to be announced. All exhibitors are requested to bring their ponies for measuring at the scheduled
hour closest to arrival on the grounds.
FEET MEASUREMENT
Where the length of the toe is a requirement, the management reserves the right to measure feet, before any protests are filed.
EXERCISE AND SCHOOLING HOURS
Schedule of exercise and schooling hours will be announced. Schooling is allowed 30 minutes after the end of the evening session until 5:30 am unless
announcement is made to adjustment of this time.
Schooling in the main show arena will not be permitted between sessions of the show. Any one violating this schedule will be asked to leave the grounds.
NO LUNGING IN THE MAIN SHOW ARENA AT ANYTIME. NO LUNGING IN THE SCHOOLING AREA DURING SHOW PERFORMANCES.
ATTIRE
It is the tradition of the show ring that riders and drivers be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly dressed and horses be
properly presented. Riders in all classes where jumping is required must wear protective headgear except in Trail and Dressage Classes. A Show
Committee may in its discretion, bar any entry or person from entering the ring if not suitably presented to appear before an audience. They must bar riders
without protective headgear from classes in which it is required. All juniors riding in Hunter Seat Equitation Classes wear protective headgear passing
testing standards while riding in the designated areas.
QUESTIONS OR DISPUTES
This Show, through its Horse Show Management, reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or
incident to, the Show, without claim for damages or recourse of any kind. No dispute will be discussed while the Show is in session. No exhibitor shall
approach a Judge or Official Veterinarian with regard to a decision unless he first obtains permission from the Show Manager or Steward who shall arrange
an appointment with the Judge or Veterinarian at a proper time and place. Under no circumstances while any session of this show is in progress will such a
meeting occur.
PROTESTS
Protest must be in writing, signed and addressed to the Secretary of the Show and accompanied by a deposit of $200.00. A member of the Show
Committee, the Show Manager, or the Show Secretary must receive it within 48 hours of the alleged violation. If the protest is sustained the deposit shall be
returned, if not sustained the deposit shall be forfeited to the Ohio State Fair Horse Show. In case the protest is sustained, the entries standing next in
award will be moved up accordingly.
DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS
(a)
A trainer is defined as “Any adult or adults who has the responsibility for the care, training, custody or performance of a horse.” Said person must
sign the entry blank of any recognized show whether said person be an owner, rider, agent or coach, as well as trainer. Where a minor exhibitor has no
trainer, a parent or guardian must sign and assume responsibility of trainer. The name of the trainer must be designated as such on the entry blank. It shall
be the responsibility of show management to see that entry blanks contain all the required information.
(b)
Clarification: A horse exhibiting at a this horse show that receives any medication which contains a forbidden substance shall not be eligible for
competition unless the following requirements have been met and the facts requested are furnished in writing.
Criteria: 1) medication form is filled out 2) the horse or pony being is withdrawn from competition for 24 hours after receiving the medication.
Medication forms will be in the show office.
VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS
An official Veterinarian will be designated to make official inspections and rulings in all cases where the opinion of a veterinarian is required. The Horse
Show Veterinarian can be reached 1 hour prior to and throughout each session at the Horse Show Office. Signing the entry blank will acknowledge your
participation in the drug testing to be done at the Ohio State Fair Horse Show under the direction of our official horse show veterinarian. Any charges
incurred while on the Ohio State Fairgrounds for veterinarian services must be paid to the veterinarian. Anyone leaving the grounds without paying their
accounts in negotiable funds will have their premium checks withheld until payment is made. Anyone who does not pay in full from previous years will not be
in good standing with the show management and will have entries returned as unacceptable.
DIVISION CANCELLATION OR COMBINATION OF CLASSES
(a)
Should the number of entries warrant, classes would be divided by age of Junior Exhibitors or sex and heights of horses. BE SURE TO FURNISH
NECESSARY INFORMATION ON ENTRY BLANK. Where divided, duplicate awards will be made

Should the best interest of the show require it, the Horse Show Committee reserves the right to cancel any class where there are less than four
entries. Those who have entered the classes that are to be canceled, combined or divided will be notified by mail.
(c)
Management reserves the right to move any classes to outside rings when it is deemed beneficial to the operation of the show. OFFICIAL
FARRIERS
The official Farriers are the only ones that are to be on the grounds during the Light horse Division show. Any others found to be working on the grounds
without express permission of the horse show management may result in the exhibitor involved being asked to leave the grounds. Permission for any other
Farrier to work on the grounds must be granted prior to their arrival on the grounds. Any charges incurred while on the Ohio State Fairgrounds for Farrier
services must be paid to the Farrier. Anyone leaving the grounds without paying their accounts in negotiable funds will have their premium checks withheld
until payment is made. Anyone who does not pay in full from previous years will not be in good standing with the show management and will have entries
returned as unacceptable.
HORSE SHOW OFFICE INFORMATION
The Show Office may be reached by calling (614) 644-4035. Fax 614-644-4003. This is a seasonal office and is staffed full-time June 15th through
September 15th. During the Ohio State Fair the office will close one hour prior to the start of each session and reopen 1/2 hour after session has begun.
Check the show office for hours of operation. Hours During The Show - the office hours will be 7 am to 8 PM daily closing for 1 hour prior to the start of the
afternoon & evening session to prepare for that session & reopening 30 minutes after the session starts.

The Fine Harness horse should possess all of the elegance and refinement of the ideal American Saddlebred and its energy should be directed toward

Entries in the Hackney & Harness Pony Classes must be registered with the American or Canadian Hackney Horse Societies and must have copies of the
registration papers filed with the entry. Although these classes are “local” classes they will still be governed by the rules as all other classes in the show.
There will be a 2-minute gate on all classes, halter and performance. The Ohio Hackney Pony Association secretary and/or members of the association are
not part of show management.
PREMIUMS
In each class, the winner will receive 40%; 2nd, 25%; 3rd, 20%; 4th, 10%; 5th, 5%. All Premium shall be paid by the Futurity Secretary by check within 30 days
after the Ohio State Fair. A trophy will be awarded in each class.
LIABILITY
No entry is liable for more than the amount paid in, but there will be no return of a payment.
The right is reserved to reject any entry and to debar any entry from competition for failure to comply with conditions herein set forth.

UPHA CLASSICS
UPHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
The professional trainer of a UPHA Classic entry must be an Professional member of the UPHA in good standing, and their membership number must
appear on the entry blank and the eligibility form. The recorded owner of the UPHA Classic entry must also be a member of the UPHA, if owned by an
amateur exhibitor they must be a current Associate member of the UPHA in good standing, and their membership number must appear on the entry blank
and the eligibility form.
RULES FOR ENTERING:
A non-refundable eligibility fee of $100 paid to the UPHA Office postmarked on or before April 1st of each year. After April 1st, the eligibility fee becomes
$150 per horse. Payment of the eligibility fee will be made payable to UPHA, Inc. in the name of the entered horse or pony and will make that animal
eligible to compete in any and all UPHA Classics classes held that year. Eligibility remains with the animal throughout the year should transfer of ownership

occur. Eligibility Fees collected will be used as prize money in the UPHA Classic Grand Championships.
All eligibility fees collected within a breed will be used in that breed's championship classes.
The entry fee for each qualifying class is $100 and is made in two payments. The first payment, the declaration fee, is $50 and must be made by the entry
closing date of the particular horse show. The second payment, the starting fee, is also $50 and is due 24 hours prior to the class, whenever practical. All
entry fees, or partial entry fees, are added to the total purse of the class.
A horse/pony may be shown in one or more Classic; however, the declaration and starting fees must be paid for each Classic in which it will be shown.
This also applies to showing ing more than one division. Fees are non-refundable in all situations. All USEF rules apply.
$300 is deducted from the total, with $100 going to fourth, fifth and sixth places. Of the balance, 50% is paid to first place, 30% to second place, and 20%
to third place. If there were only 2 entries, the total prize money would be split 60% and 40%. If only 3 entries show, the total prize money the original
percentages would apply, without the $300 deduction. In case of only one entry, that entry would receive 100% of the total.
Prize money in a $250 Added Money Classic would be broken down in the same percentages as the other UPHA Classic classes, however, only $50
would be awarded to the fourth, fifth and sixth places.
Hackney Pony Performance Section
Ponies to be exhibited to an appropriate vehicle, either a viceroy or a miniature side rail buggy of a type used for fine harness horses. To be shown in a
sidecheck with liver pool bit. To be shown at a Park trot & “Show your pony” Headers are permitted in all classes, but may remain just inside the ring during
Amateur, Ladies & junior exhibitor classes. Exception: in Amateur, Ladies & Junior exhibitor classes where they will show at a Park Trot only.
Junior, Limit, Novice Hackney & Harness pony to be judged on quality, performance & manners. Mares, Stallion/Gelding, Open Hackney & Harness. Single
