This vast network also encompasses cricket boards, national teams, representative teams and leagues too, so within the system, we have set up the ECB Disability cricket leagues. In order for us to keep complete and accurate performance statistics for all players in our leagues, it is vital that the score sheets for all games are entered onto the system at the end of games. We have made the entering on play-cricket a mandatory part of the reporting process of games within the ECB disability competitions. The HOME TEAM will be responsible for making the entry EVEN IF THE GAME IS CANCELLED OR ABANDONED and would ask that it is completed within 48 hours of the fixture - i.e. generally by Tuesday evening following the game. All games have been set up on play cricket under a league structure. Each team that has entered the competitions will have a 'presence' on the system. The way in which it works is that each team will have been 'set up' on the teams independent play cricket web site. Some teams have totally independent play cricket sites, others, have their teams set up via their respective cricket boards. Either way, you will be able to reach the fixtures for your team via that website. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ACCESS THE BACD PLAY-CRICKET WEBSITE TO ENTER RESULTS OR ANY OTHER AMENDMENTS. How to Enter a score sheet Access Rights Firstly, you will need to have administrator rights to be able to enter score sheets on the site. If you do not have this, you will need to talk to the main administrator for your site. If your team sits inside a cricket board play-cricket site, contact your county board development office and establish who that person is and ask them to give you the access rights to enter your score cards. You will need to establish who your site administrator is if you have an independent site. The bottom line is that YOU CANNOT ENTER SCORE SHEETS WITHOUT BEING GIVEN ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS TO DO SO. Once you have the correct access rights you need to log in as follows: Page | 3 Each play-cricket home page may differ due to the way in which it can be set up. For all the examples within this document, we have used the BACD league play-cricket site. The process for inputting a score sheet does not differ from site to site Login In the top right of the home page is the option to Login. Click here and the following window appears: Page | 4 Enter your Username and Password in the appropriate boxes and click sign-in Once signed in, you will notice that your name will appear where it once said Login on the top menu bar. Next to your name is a downward facing triangle. This indicates that there is a small submenu associated with your log in. If you click here, the menu will be displayed. The options Edit Account, Site Administration and Logout should appear. If you do not see Site Administration, then you do not have the correct access rights. Page | 5 Administration Page Click on Site Administration Results On entering the Site Administration page, you will see the page above. Depending on the rights access that you have been given will depend on how many of the items you see on the left hand side. The ONLY option we are interested in here is the one called Results. Click on Results Page | 6 You will now be faced with a page allowing you to search for a match. The search can be made using a number of different search masks. You can use the match date, a quick search whereby you find all the matches in the season, you can specify the division too. In the example that follows we have selected a specific date during the 2014 season and have filtered by one specific division. As you can see, the fixture that I was looking for is displayed. When doing this on your own playcricket site, you will only see those fixtures that are relevant to your team(s). Result Pages If you now click on the 'pencil' icon to edit the result, the following window will be displayed: Page | 7 Each scorecard that needs entering has 5 screens to complete. The initial screen is the summary screen where you enter the overall result. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL. The screen shows the details it knows about the fixture and working down the page, you can enter the names of the umpires and the scorers. It maybe that the officials are already known to the system, in which case, click on the appropriate downward arrow to reveal the umpires known to the system. These are held in alphabetical order by surname. Just highlight the right name it will populate the field. If the official isn't listed then you are able to add the name by clicking on the relevant 'add' button next to the field. You will be given a small window to complete. Once you have done that, the official will remain on the system. You will then need to enter the scores for the game indicating who won the toss, who batted first and which is the home team, all by way of a series of radio buttons. You must NOT FORGET to indicate the result from the list of all permutations in the result field. There is also a highlights box. This allows you to free-text if you have players in the game who have scored worthy innings or taken a number of wickets. Once you click on the green save button, the system will display the next page. This page is for you to input the first of the two teams as displayed below: Page | 8 Players Names From your hand written result sheet, you now need to enter the names of the players. On the right side of the screen you will see a number of the players names. These have been set up previously and should be used if they appear on the score sheet. To enter a name into the score sheet grid on the left just click on the name as displayed below. The order you enter the players into the grid does not matter as you have the option to re-order them on another occasion, however, if you can enter them in batting order it will save you some time: Page | 9 New Players If you have players on the score sheet that do not appear in the list, then you have the option to enter them by using the 'search for player' button just above the name list. This screen will appear. This gives you the option of searching the player database for the player. If as a result of a search you were unable to locate the player, just click on the button within the window entitles 'Add New Member'. The following window will appear: Page | 10 Complete the name details of the player in this window and ensure that you click the box that indicates that the player will be a member of the squad. On clicking save, the players name will appear in the score sheet grid. It will also appear in the players' names grid on the right and, you will be able to select the name from that grid in the future. Continue to complete the score sheet grid from the result sheet that you have. Once done, you will need to indicate with a tick, which player is the captain and who is the wicket keeper. This can be the same person if necessary. Now click on the save button. You will be directed to the score sheet grid for the opposition. This page should be completed in exactly the same way as the previous one. If there are players missing from the right hand players name grid, these can be searched for and added if necessary in the same way. Once all completed, again indicating who is captain and wicket keeper, save the page. You are able to re-order the batsman at this stage by selecting the relevant number on the score card grid for each players from the drop down list of numbers on the left. Score Sheet Details You will now need to enter the details of how each batsman was out, who the catcher (if relevant) and who the bowler is, plus the runs the batsman scored. You can even enter the number of boundaries scored and the balls faced too! It is important that the 'how out' details are completed in full including the catcher or the fielder who produced a run out. You will also need to enter the extras too, by denomination. The system will add the scores up and will compare to that total that you entered on the first page. THEY HAVE TO MATCH. Page | 11 Further down the page, you will need to enter the fall of each wicket. This is accompanied by the names of the 'out' batsman and then 'not out' batsman with their relevant scores at the time of the fall. THIS SECTION IS NOT MANDATORY - It would be nice to collect but we appreciate that it is not always possible. The above screen shows the completed batting section of the first score card screen. Page | 12 Below is the bowling part of the same grid. This will hold each bowler, the overs, maidens, runs and wickets for each bowler and also room for the bowling extras. Select the bowler from the drop down list and input the bowlers figures as relevant. Repeat this for each bowler. You will notice that for each bowler selected the wickets column will automatically fill with the correct number of wickets taken. Completed screen for the bowler shown above. Page | 13 You now need to complete the same grids for the opposition. When completing, please make sure that the numbers add up both in the batting grid and the bowling grid. If they don't add up, a warning box appears and allows you to make the necessary corrections. Once the score sheet grids have been completed, click on the save button and a summary screen will appear as shown below: That should be it! - The score card will now be complete and will appear as a result in your fixtures listings. Play-cricket websites automatically calculate the statistics for each batsman and bowler based on your input. This is a very useful tool that you can use to compile your own end of season figures.
