Saskatchewan Casino Proposal
Moves Forward
SASKATCHEWAN – “The First Nations-run Swift Current Casino
was one step closer to becoming a reality Tuesday with the signing
of a municipal services agreement between the city and Nekaneet
First Nation.
"'The signing of the Municipal Services Agreement between the
city and Nekaneet First Nation is both historic and significant,' said
File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) chair Dean
Bellegarde.
"…The tribal council has been responsible for the negotiation of
four separate agreements in order for the property to be created as an
urban reserve. The Nekaneet First Nation will host the site of the
new $22.7-million casino and performing arts centre.
"…The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority has been operating
casinos in the province for the past 10 years. The Swift Current
Casino will be the sixth Indian-owned and-operated facility in the
province…"
CryptoLogic Cashes in with
Online Casino Demand
TORONTO, Ontario – Gambling software company CryptoLogic
Inc. said Wednesday its first-quarter profits soared 58 per cent to
$7.7 million (U.S.) as its casino games drew more customers — and
now Playboy will use its technology on a new website.
"The report came one day after CryptoLogic declared a 71 per cent
increase in the quarterly cash dividend to 12 cents a share, payable
June 15 to shareholders of record as of June 8.
"...CryptoLogic stock gained $3.23, more than 11 per cent, to
$31.85 in early trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
"...Earnings for the quarter ended March 31 rose to 56 cents a
diluted share and compared with $48 million (U.S.) or 34 cents per
share a year earlier, the Toronto-based company said. The firm
reports in U.S. dollars.
"...Revenue increased 33 per cent to a record $27 million (U.S.) —
beating the company's forecast of $25.1 million to $25.5 million..."
Mohawks Consider Share Offering
CANADA – "The Mohawks of Kahnawake are considering
participating in a London share offering that would raise money for
an international network of computer centres to serve the online
gambling industry and other e-businesses.
"The Kahnawake economic development commission expects to
finalize an agreement as early as this week to take a 40-per-cent
stake in an Isle of Man company looking to issue shares on the
London Stock Exchange's junior AIM market, said John (Bud)
Morris, chief executive officer of the development commission.
"The commission owns Mohawk Internet Technologies, whose
computer servers have made Kahnawake one of the world's most
popular jurisdictions for hosting online gambling sites. MIT, home
to scores of casino, poker and bingo sites, is negotiating a contract
that would see the Isle of Man company - Continent 8 Technologies
PLC - offer its servers to international customers as part of a larger
'grid' of data centres.
"…Grand chief Michael Delisle said the Kahnawake council
supports the IPO as an important economic development
opportunity for the community.
"…Investors in London have been showing a big appetite for online
gambling stocks, encouraging a raft of companies involved in the
$12-billion global Internet gaming business to bring new issues to
market…"

Nooksacks Plan Lynden-Area Casino
LYNDEN, Washington – The Nooksack Tribe plans to open a
casino in March near the Canadian border between the Lynden and
Sumas crossings. The 35,800-square-foot Northwood Crossing
Casino is expected to create 250 jobs with a $6 million payroll.
Anyone can apply for jobs, although Nooksack tribal members
would get preference.
The tribe intends to use revenue from the new casino to move
and expand the Nooksack River Casino in Deming. The goal, said
Mike Wootan, manager of the Nooksack River Casino, is to move
the Deming casino to a 40-acre site opposite the current location and
build a hotel and resort alongside it.
The new $14 million casino would be built by the Nooksack
Construction Co. and run by the tribe without outside partners. To
avoid cannibalizing its own business, the Nooksack River Casino is
shifting its marketing focus, Wootan said. With a hotel, visitors to
Mount Baker can ski during the day and have a place to sleep and
gamble at night.
Bellingham company 2020 Engineering conducted a
feasibility study for the tribe 18 months ago that concluded casinos
could draw in more business.
Gambler Hits Jackpot With Court's Tax Ruling
ST. PAUL, Minnesota – What Estelle Busch lost at the slot
machines, she won with tax collectors.
The Minneapolis woman with a 60-hour-a-week gambling
regimen - she labeled it a business - convinced the Minnesota
Supreme Court that she should be able to deduct $200,000 in
gambling losses over three years from her taxes.
State tax collectors had been demanding she pay $102,000 in
back taxes.
Justices concurred that she was involved in a 'trade or business,'
even if it wasn't a particularly reasonable one to practice.
Two Slot Cheats Added to A.C.'s Exclusion List
ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Two of the country's most
notorious slot cheaters will not be welcome in Atlantic City's
casinos. Following similar action two years ago by their Nevada
counterparts, New Jersey gaming regulators voted Wednesday to
bar the swindlers from ever stepping foot inside the 12 casino hotels
here.
D. McAndrew, 64, and E. Bulgarino, 72, are now part of New
Jersey's 'exclusion list,' a veritable rogues' gallery of cheaters,
mobsters and other unsavory characters banned by the casino
industry. In 2004, the two men were placed on Nevada's casino
blacklist.
McAndrew was the mastermind and Bulgarino his chief
accomplice of a Las Vegas swindling ring that stole more than $6
million from six casinos between 1996 and 1997. The scheme
involved using a concealed, handheld computer to illegally
program slots so they would pay off big jackpots.

BBQ GRILLED CHICKEN KABOBS
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces
6 cups assorted cut-up vegetables
1 cup Original Barbecue Sauce, divided
Preheat grill to medium heat. Arrange chicken and vegetables alternately on
8 skewers.
Grill kabobs 10 to 15 min. or until chicken is cooked through (170°F),
turning after 8 min. and brushing frequently with the 1/2 cup of the barbecue
sauce.
Serve with the remaining 1/2 cup barbecue sauce.
to 8 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and vegetables are crisp-tender,
turning after 4 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix mayo, lime juice, garlic, remaining 1 tsp. grated lime peel
and 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper. Serve with the kabobs.

PARTY SHRIMP AND VEGETABLE KABOBS
2 lb. large shrimp, peeled, cleaned
24 small button mushrooms
2 medium red peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 large red onion, cut into 3/4-inch chunks
1 large zucchini, cut into 3/4-inch chunks
24 wooden skewers
3/4 cup Italian Dressing
2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro
1 Tbsp. grated lime peel, divided
3/4 tsp. ground red pepper (or to taste), divided
3/4 cup Mayo Real Mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. lime juice
1 small clove garlic, minced
Arrange shrimp and vegetables evenly on skewers; place in shallow dish.
Mix dressing, cilantro, 2 tsp. of the lime peel and 1/2 tsp. of the ground red
pepper until well blended. Pour over kabobs; cover. Refrigerate 1 hour to
marinate. Remove kabobs from the marinade; discard marinade.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat or preheat broiler. Place kabobs on
greased grill or on rack of broiler pan. Grill or broil 5 to 7 inches from heat 6

2 medium bell peppers (red, green and/or yellow), cut into strips
1 small onion, sliced
1/4 cup House Italian Reduced Fat Dressing
4 frozen BOCA Meatless Italian Sausages
4 hot dog buns, partially split
Preheat grill to medium heat. Place peppers, onion and dressing in heavyduty foil bag or foil pouch; close bag tightly.

4 Wieners, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup cut-up fresh vegetables
2 Tbsp. Original Barbecue Sauce
4 KRAFT Singles
4 hot dog buns, split
Preheat greased grill to medium heat. Using 8 long wooden skewers,
(two, side by side, for each kabob) thread wieners alternately with
vegetables onto skewers to create 4 kabobs. Wrap skewer ends in foil to
prevent burning.
Grill kabobs 10 min. or until wieners are heated through and vegetables
are crisp-tender, turning and brushing occasionally with the barbecue
sauce.
Place Singles in buns; fill with kabobs. Remove skewers.

GRILLING TIPS
Grill steaks over medium heat about 5 inches from the heat source.
Turn once during cooking using tongs or a spatula; do not use a fork, it
could pierce the meat and allow juices to run out.
Cooking can take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on
thickness and desired doneness.
Marinate in the refrigerator; never at room temperature.
On slabs of ribs, remove the membrane on the bone side to allow
marinades to penetrate.
Boiling ribs for a couple of hours before marinating and cooking ensures
tender grilled ribs.
Both pork and beef ribs can be marinated for a couple of hours or
overnight.
Slow grilling over indirect heat in which the ribs are not placed directly
over the heat source but to the side of it, with the lid closed, is preferred.
Turn the ribs frequently using tongs.
Grill 1 to 2 hours, depending on rib type and grill.
Fish or shrimp need only 20 to 30 minutes to marinate; some larger thick
fillets can marinate an hour or more.
Over-marinating seafood can cause the flesh to become mushy.
Cook fillets until they flake easily with a fork and are opaque throughout,
about 5 minutes per side per inch thickness. An internal temperature of
155° F is desired.
Grill baskets are great for delicate or small foods such as shrimp.
Shrimp cook in about 4 minutes; baste with butter or oil to keep moist.
Marinate poultry pieces 30 to 60 minutes.
If using tomato-based BBQ sauce, brush on during last 5 minutes of
cooking to prevent burning the sauce.
Grill chicken over direct medium heat.
An internal temperature for breast meat of 170° F and 180° F for legs and
thighs is preferred.
Estimate about 7 minutes per side for boneless breasts, bone-in legs about
20 minutes per side.
• All vegetables can be marinated in the refrigerator in an oil and vinegar
based dressing or marinade for up to one day.
If not marinating, brush grill grate with vegetable oil before grilling to
help prevent sticking.
Cut vegetables into uniform size pieces so they will cook evenly.
Grilling sweetens and intensifies the flavor of fresh vegetables.
Grill over medium heat, turning frequently, until crisp and tender. They
should pierce fairly easily with a fork.
If cooking hard vegetables like potatoes, briefly boil them before grilling
to speed up grilling time or to ensure they will be done at the same time
as softer vegetables if grilling together.

Celebrities to Compete in World Craps
Championships in Vegas in July
Frank Scoblete’s World Craps Championships, which features
10 tournaments and over a dozen challenge matches in two full days
of craps competition, will have many celebrities competing in the
tournaments scheduled for Saturday and Sunday July 22 and 23 at
the Atrium Hotel in Las Vegas. Some will also be competing in
head-to-head competition against Golden Touch’s expert dice
controllers as well.
Jean Scott, best selling author of the Frugal Gambler and More
Frugal Gambling, and one of the world’s greatest advantage players
will be competing, along with her husband Brad Scott. “I am not a
controlled shooter,” states Jean, “but in tournaments there is a lot of
luck involved. I hope to get lucky in this one. I can’t wait to
compete.”
John Grochowski, best selling author of the Casino Answer
Book series, will take time out from his duties as a columnist for the
Detroit Free Press and from his radio show to compete. John is a
Golden Touch Craps dice control student and now will get the
opportunity to strut his stuff.
Dr. Don Catlin, professor emeritus of mathematics at the
University of Massachusetts and author of The Lottery Book: The
Truth Behind the Numbers, is set to compete. Dr. Catlin did an
exhaustive study of the Captain’s 5-Count, a method for reducing
one’s exposure to the house edge on random rollers at craps that is
used by Golden Touch shooters when they play in casinos. He is also
a Golden Touch Dice Control student who is looking to show that
even mathematicians can challenge chance and win.
Henry Tamburin, best-selling author and the Golden Touch
student record holder in the No-Sevens Contest with 45 rolls before
a seven showed, will be in head-to-head and tournament
competition during the weekend. “I am really looking forward to
meeting all these great craps players. They are an exciting bunch of
players and this is going to be the greatest craps weekend ever. I
would love to win the No-Sevens tournament.”
Well known actor Barry Sigismondi, who played Dominator in
the History Channel show The Dice Dominator will show off his
dice control talents and be a guest speaker at the Awards dinner on
Sunday evening, July 23. Since studying the Golden Touch, Barry
has become quite a skilled shooter. He will be challenging the real
Dominator in a head-to-head special event match to determine who
the true Dominator of craps actually is.
“I will show this guy who the true Dominator is,” states the real
Dominator author of the book Golden Touch Dice Control
Revolution. “Sigismondi is a good actor but I am the better man
when it comes to dice shooting!”
According to Scoblete, “The World Craps Championships is
already 80 percent sold out. If you wish to sign up, please call Fred

matches, we have a great Awards dinner on Sunday evening. The
top three players in each tournament receive trophies and cash
prizes. The Captain’s Trophy will be given to the top player in the
final tournament which pits the three finalists from all the other
tournaments.”
The World Craps Championships is not associated with any
casinos and is a private event that does not entail any gambling. “It
is a contest for dice shooters and lovers of craps,” states Scoblete.
