To our Award Recipients, their
Parents, our Contributors and
Distinguished Guests. Welcome
to our Awards Gala.
T
onight we are here to celebrate the award recipients of our Foundation for
2010. We recognize them as this year’s Best and Brightest Greek American
Students, and we salute them with a deep sense of admiration and respect.
Chairman’s Message
This, the 11th year of our Foundation, has been one of progress and
accomplishments; therefore we have changed our award distribution philosophy.
Tonight, we will be awarding 40 brilliant Greek American undergraduates $250,000
in scholarships based first on academic performance. Of these, 20 are selected on
the basis of financial need and another 20 on merit only.
We have also changed the program of our event in which we are conducting
our awards ceremony separately, in a theater seating format, followed by
cocktails, then dinner in a grandeur ballroom, with dancing and entertainment.
And since we are all here to admire and applaud our award recipients, we have
reduced the speeches to the absolute minimum, thus allowing more time for the
enjoyment of our guests.
It is with great pride that we hold our Awards Gala, as this is the culmination
of a full year’s work for us, and the finish point of all our award recipients, for
the realization of their dream to get this award. It is also with pride that we have
you, our sponsors and benefactors, standing behind us with your loyalty and
support. To you we express our sincere thanks and deepest gratitude for helping
us with this noble cause.
