SCHOOL MAINTENANCE FUND
As a Church school we enjoy the great privilege of being able to educate and nurture
our children in our faith. We are free to teach Catholic Religious Education, to worship
in an expressively Catholic way and to pass on Catholic moral and social teaching. We
are different from Community schools in that we do not receive all of our funding from
the Government.
It is only right that we, as a faith community, pay for the freedom that we have to teach
our faith. This is true of all Voluntary Aided schools whether they are CofE, RC, Sikh,
Jewish or Muslim. Like other Voluntary Aided schools we only receive 90% of the
money needed to run the school. Like these other schools, we ask our parents for
voluntary contributions to make up the shortfall. We use this money to run the school
and pay for improvements and building work.
We would like to thank all those parents who have paid the maintenance fund. We
have sent a reminder letter today for those of you who have not yet made arrangements
to pay this. Can you please take the time to read the letter and return the reply slip to
the office.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

Arriving Late at School
Coming late to school not
only disrupts the education
of your child, but also the
education of others!
If a child is just 5 minutes
late per day – this is 25
minutes per week – which
is a whole guided teaching
session!

We have a large number of coats and jumpers in the Junior
Department. Please come to the office and check if any of the
property is yours. Unfortunately, any items not collected by Friday
next week will be donated to a charity shop!
The PTA have organised a Travelling Trends
Fashion Show on Thursday 26th May at the
Pope John Centre, where you will have the
opportunity to buy brand new clothes at a
discounted rate. Tickets costing £5 will be on
sale from the PTA on Monday.
We are currently collecting Sainsbury’s
Active Kids vouchers. Please remember to
bring them into school as it does help us to
buy much needed resources.
