We, the worshipping community of Holy Trinity Church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford,
rooted in the Gospel and the celebration of the Eucharist, seek to make known God’s love in the world through

Holy Trinity Church was founded by Lithuanian Immigrants in 1900 to serve and spread the teachings of
Jesus Christ. This church continues to share Lithuanian Liturgy and Traditions related to God.

October Month of the Most Holy Rosary
On October 7, we celebrate a well-loved memorial in honor
of the Rosary, and according to a
long-standing tradition, the entire month
of October is dedicated to the Most Holy
Rosary. In the Rosary, with its sequence
of prayers and mysteries, we
contemplate the Gospel in company with
the Blessed Virgin Mary. As Blessed Pope
John Paul II wrote in 2002, “the Rosary.
. . .is a prayer loved by countless Saints and encouraged by
the Magisterium. Simple yet profound, it still remains, at
the dawn of this third millennium, a prayer of great
significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness. . .
.With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of
Mary and is led to contemplate the beauty on the face of
Christ and to experience the depths of his love. Through
the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though
from the very hands of the Mother of the
Redeemer” (Rosarium Virginis Mariae. 1)
Annual Rosary Rally

The 27 Annual Rosary Rally will be held at the
Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in
Waterbury on October 2nd from 2:00pm to
3:30pm. Procession, rosary, talk and
Benediction. Fr. Matthew Mauriello, Pastor of
St. Roch’s Church in Greenwich, CT and President of the
No. American Congress on Mercy is the guest speaker.
“Learning and Living Mercy” is the topic of his talk.

Little FREE Library
Holy Trinity Church is now home to a
Little FREE Library, located in the
vestibule. This library belongs to
everyone —parishioners and friends! If
you see a book you would like to read,
feel free to take it. When you are
finished with it, share it with a friend or return to the
library. Since this is a church we are offering some spiritual
reading for the journey. Try it, you may like it.
Pastoral Planning Progress Report
By late September, the first round of
pastoral planning meetings will have
resulted in restructuring
recommendations from over 200
priests and at least 900 parishioners
representing 17 deaneries and 212
parishes of the Archdiocese. An
additional round of meetings with priests and parishioners
will begin sometime in November. These meetings will
entail reviews and feedback on the first round of deanery
planning. The feedback we gather will be used to advance
our thinking on how best to restructure our deaneries.
Additionally, and as a response to people’s request for more
frequent and up-to-date communication, the Office of
Pastoral Planning has launched its new Pastoral Planning
website: stewardsfortomorrow.org. Here you will find
information about Pastoral Planning, including a glossary of
key terms; people invested in guiding the process; data and
statistics that will help inform decisions; news and
testimonies from those involved in the pastoral planning
process, and much more. Finally, in the last quarter of
2016, we will publish a special edition magazine dedicated
to providing even more information about pastoral
planning, including stories and testimonies from people
whose parishes and/or schools have already merged or are
in the process of restructuring. The magazine will be mailed
to every registered household of the Archdiocese.
