The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins. The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Luke 4:25-30 ÚÇëáõë øñÇëïáëÇ ²õ»ï³ñ³Ý¿Ý Àëï ÔáõϳëÇ ¥4£25-30¤ Ò»½Ç ûñÇݳÏáí ËûëÇÙ£ Æëñ³Û¿ÉÇ Ù¿ç µ³½Ù³ÃÇõ ³ÛñÇÝ»ñ ϳÛÇÝ ºÕdzÛÇ ûñ»ñáõÝ« »ñµ »ñ»ùáõÏ¿ë ï³ñÇ »ñÏÇÝùÁ ã³ÝÓñ»õ»ó »õ ³ÙµáÕç »ñÏñÇÝ Ù¿ç ë³ëïÇÏ ëáí ïÇñ»ó£ ´³Ûó ºÕdz ³ÝáÝóÙ¿ á»õ¿ Ù¿ÏáõÝ ãÕñÏáõ»ó³õ« ³ÛÉ ÕñÏáõ»ó³õ êǹáÝÇ ÙûïÇÏ ê³ñ»÷ó ·ÇõÕÁ µÝ³ÏáÕ ³ÛñÇ ÏÝáç Ùûï£ ÜáÛÝå¿ë« ºÕÇë¿ Ø³ñ·³ñ¿Ç ûñ»ñáõÝ Æëñ³Û¿ÉÇ Ù¿ç µ³½Ù³ÃÇõ µáñáïÝ»ñ ϳÛÇÝ« µ³Ûó ³ÝáÝóÙ¿ áã Ù¿ÏÁ µÅßÏáõ»ó³õ« ³ÛÉ ÙdzÛÝ Ü¿»Ù³Ý ³ÝáõÝáí ²ëáñÇ ÙÁ£ ²Ûë ³ÏݳñÏáõÃÇõÝ»ñÁ Éë»Éáíª ÅáÕáí³ñ³ÝÇÝ Ù¿ç ·ïÝáõáÕÝ»ñÁ µ³ñÏáõû³Ùµ É»óáõ»ó³Ý£ ºÉ³Ý« ÚÇëáõëÁ ù³Õ³ù¿Ý ¹áõñë ѳݻóÇÝ »õ ·³Ñ³í¿Å ÁÝ»Éáõ Ýå³ï³Ïáí ½³ÛÝ ï³ñÇÝ ÙÇÝã»õ ϳï³ñÁ ³ÛÝ É»ñ³Ý« áñáõÝ íñ³Û ßÇÝáõ³Í ¿ñ Çñ»Ýó ù³Õ³ùÁ£ ´³Ûó ÚÇëáõë ³ÝáÝó Ù¿ç¿Ý ³Ýó³õ ·Ý³ó£ I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.” All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.
