The Chief Vatican Exorcist’s Thoughts on
The Power of the Rosary
The power of the Holy Rosary
Beautiful Reasons for Praying the Rosary Even More Often
Father Gabriel Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican writes:
One day a colleague of mine heard the devil say during an exorcism:
"Every Hail Mary is like a blow on my head. If Christians knew how powerful the Rosary was, it would be
my end." The secret that makes this prayer so effective is that the Rosary is both prayer and meditation. It is
addressed to the Father, to the Blessed Virgin, and to the Holy Trinity, and is a meditation centered on Christ.
I write in addition to the above:
Please enunciate each word of the Rosary clearly and distinctly. Do not trample on the heels of the words of
anyone with your words. Do not speak over the leader if you are following or the respondent if you are
leading the Rosary. Remember that they also are having a conversation with Mary Our Mother and it is not
polite to speak when someone else is speaking. In the case of the public Rosary there are only two people
speaking: the leader and the respondents. Each is speaking to the Blessed Mother and listening carefully to her
response within their hearts as they meditate on the scene before them in their consideration of the mystery
being spoken of and interpreted and translated into their lives. Spread this powerful prayer of Exorcism, the
Rosary, which contains the Our Father, the Perfect Prayer. Prayed five times in the recitation of each set of the
Rosary's Mysteries, backed up by the powerful prayers of our Mother who prays with us as we pray 53 Hail
Mary's.
The Eternal Father described to a group of us, through a Visionary Friend of mine, what happens when we
pray the Rosary, saying, "When you pray Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now....., the Blessed
Mother comes instantly to your side to pray with you. And she does not come alone. She brings angels with
her. And not just one or two for she is the Queen of Angels, so choirs of angels come with her. And she and
Jesus are joined at the heart and cannot be separated so she brings Jesus with her. And Jesus cannot be
separated from the Trinity so He brings the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him. And where the Holy Trinity
is, all of creation is, and you are surrounded by such beauty and light as you cannot imagine in this life. Your
Mother comes as Our Lady of Grace with her hands outstretched. Rays of light emit from her hands piercing
your body, healing you and filling you with graces. This is your inheritance which was poured out from the
heart of Jesus on the Cross, when the centurion pierced His Heart with the spear, into the only pure vessel
ready to receive such graces at that time, Your Mother. Now as you pray the Rosary, or even just recite one
Hail Mary, you receive your portion of these graces. He also said at this time, "Anyone who goes to Mary and
prays the Rosary cannot be touched by Satan." Is it any wonder that anyone who prays the Rosary from the
heart is so blessed and protected and powerful in their prayers for others?
With all of the reasons stated above, can we really rush through the recitation of this powerful prayer? Would
you ever talk fast to anyone saying I love you?

THE CWL CYBER MOTHERS’ PRAYER GROUP
Last year this time we introduced the new on-line Mothers’ Prayer Group to our members. Before
we realized, it has already been one year. Happy 1st Anniversary to all the mothers who have
prayed together with one heart for their children, grandchildren and godchildren in the past year. As
we all know, mother and grandmother play a very important role in a family. Pope Francis, in his
homily that was selected in celebration of the 1st Anniversary, said: “I had the great blessings of
growing up in a family in which faith was lived in a simple, practical way. However, it was my
paternal grandmother who influenced my journey of faith. She was a woman who explained to us,
who talked to us about Jesus, who taught us the Catechism….And this makes me think of the love
of so many mothers and grandmothers in the transmission of faith. This used to happen in the early
Church too, for St. Paul said to Timothy, ‘I am reminded of the faith of your mother and of your
grandmother’(cf.2 Timothy1:5)….Because God sets beside us people who help us on our journey of
faith. It is always a person preaching who tells us who Jesus is, who communicates faith to us and
gives us the first proclamation….”
We’d like to congratulate our leader, Maria Chu. Thank you for being the spearhead and your
dedication in faithfully gathering these praying Moms group every week. With God’s blessing and
Blessed Mother’s protection to all families, may we see a growing number of mothers joining us,
banding together with a mission to pass on our faith to the next generation and beyond.
MAY 11 – MOTHER’S DAY – HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS
AND GODMOTHERS

MARCH AND APRIL ACTIVITIES
Annual Lenten Retreat was well attended by over 30 members and friends from CWL and 16 from
St. Joseph’s Ladies’ Guild. It was lead by Fr. Emilio Lim on the subject of Simple Spirituality.
Fellowship Lunch after Chrism Mass at Caritas Restaurant had a great turn out with 18 members
including Fr. Russell who to the members delight was also able to join.
March Pot-Luck: The following ladies celebrated their birthday in March, Dolores Brown, Colita
Vallecer and Monica Yung, from left to right. We also know that our President, Yolanda Ling, who
couldn’t be with us that day, was also a March baby!!
April Pot-Luck: Members were informed by our President that, regrettably, this will be our last potluck until further notice, as the 18th floor will be closed for renovations for two months and it has not
been confirmed whether it will be available to us ever again. All members expressed sadness that
this maybe the last of their beloved pot-luck . The pot-luck is so much appreciated by members as
it is a wonderful occasion for fellowship, and they very much look forward to the bible study given
by Father Russell that follows after lunch. Members were reassured that every effort will be made
to find another venue, but the biggest difficulty is that most places do not allow outside food to be
brought in. It was suggested that if members were prepared to travel further, definitely not as
convenient as the 18th floor, then there maybe a possibility to approach one of the churches to use
their church hall. Most importantly, if the pot-luck is held a little distance away, will members
continue to attend as it maybe necessary to share a taxi to get to the venue. The Committee will
continue to study all options, with feed-back from members, but for now the pot-luck will be
suspended until further notice.
In spite of this sad news, all present, around 38, had a most enjoyable time. There was lots of food
and there were chocolate Easter eggs for everyone in keeping with the season.
Elisabeth
Jefffreson and Yvonne Tsui blew out the candles on the birthday cake as everyone sang Happy
Birthday. Our new centenarian Mabel Rose Li, whose birthday was also in April, was not able to be
with us. Happy Birthday, Mabel Rose. A group photo was taken in memory of this event which is
an integral part of CWL’s history.
The Bible study which concentrated on the story of Emmaus, followed.
attentively and a lively discussion followed. Thank you Father Russell.
