SHOW SITE INFO & ACCOMMODATIONS
CROWNE PLAZA LOUISVILLE AIRPORT
The American Pomeranian Club has reserved a block of rooms for a special rate of
$119 plus applicable taxes per night. Reserve a double or king room 1 - 4 guests for
this rate. The $119 rate will be good from March 11 – 18, 2016. Reservation deadline
will be February 19, 2016. When making your reservations, be sure to state that you
are with the American Pomeranian Club Dog Show at 888-233-9527. The hotel
requires a $50 ONE TIME NON-REFUNDABLE pet fee per room. A replacement
charge will be assessed for any bedspreads, blankets, sheets, etc. damaged or
destroyed. The Crowne Plaza requires that all dogs left unattended in guestrooms, be
locked in crates and plastic put under the crates. The hotel requires that housekeeping
staff be allowed daily access to all guest rooms attendees who do not comply with the
rules will be assessed the regular $150 pet fee. The Crowne Plaza is a full service
hotel featuring a lounge, full service restaurant, room service, pools, health spa, sauna,
guest laundry and more. Hotel guests enjoy the convenience of complimentary airport
shuttle. When you arrive at the Louisville airport baggage claim area just give us a call
(please retrieve your baggage before calling the hotel).
DIRECTIONS TO Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport: Hotel next to I-65 and I-264. It is
five minutes from Churchill Downs. Two minutes from the Louisville International
Airport, and across the street from the Kentucky Exposition Center.
RV PARKING
RV Parking allowed if staying in the hotel. If staying in an RV on Crowne Plaza
grounds without a room, then the charge is $125.00 per day. Electrical hook-ups are
unavailable and generators are not allowed at any time. There is security 24 hours a
day.
FAIRGROUNDS RV PARKING
RV Parking is located at the fairgrounds. Hook-ups are available at a rate of $50 per
night, dry dock rate is $30 per night. Space is limited, so be sure to make reservations

ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE
The Annual Meeting of the American Pomeranian Club, Inc. will be held, Tuesday,
March 15, 2016 at 7:00 pm. APC Members and Guests are invited.

GROOMING AREA
The APC has changed the grooming area! The Crowne Ballroom B next to
the Crowne A, which is the show room has been rented to meet your
grooming space needs.
RESERVED SEATING
The APC is offering ringside seats for $50 per seat including show catalog.
Seats are for the duration of the show. Reserved seating is on a first come, first
served basis. When front row seating is filled, you will be allocated to the
second row seating. Those wishing to sit together MUST send their payment for
seating together with the list of attendees. Payment can be made via Paypal,
credit card or mailed with the information of those sitting together with payment
in the same envelope. Free seating will be available.
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN & CGCA TEST
The American Pomeranian Club will host a Canine Good Citizen Test on

Monday, March 14 between the Rally and the Sweepstakes competitions in the
ballroom. The Evaluator is Barbara McClatchey. The entry fee is $10.00 per
dog. Springfield Photography will do candid shots. As of January 1, 2013,
®
Canine Good Citizen became an official AKC title that can appear on the title
records of dogs registered or listed with AKC. Dog owners who complete the
CGC as a Title process may list the suffix “CGC” after the dog’s name.
As a result of frequent, ongoing requests from dog owners and instructors for
AKC to recognize CGC as a title, dog owners will have the option of having
CGC added to their dog’s title record and appear as a part of the dog’s titled
name.
LIVING LEGENDS
If you would like your dog recognized, this is for all our Living Legends. To
be eligible: 12 years of age or older, have at least One (1) AKC Title or an
APC Historical Award, need not be present nor entered in the Specialty. A
fee of $25.00 to have your name listed in the catalog with dog’s name,
birthdate, and a brief bio.

CLASS ELIGIBILITY
Bred by Exhibitor (BBE)
▪ All dogs entered in the Bred-by-Exhibitor Class must be individually
registered with the AKC.
▪ The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an
owner of record of the dog.
▪ To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of
record.
Effective January 1, 2010, Chapter 11, Section 1 of the AKC Rule Book: No dog
shall be exhibited in a licensed or member dog show, except for dogs entered in
the Miscellaneous Class unless it is either individually registered in the AKC Stud
Book, or individually registered with a foreign registry organization pedigrees are
accepted for AKC registration. See

Veteran Class
For dogs & bitches 6 years of age or older as of the date of the show, the Dog or
Bitch need not be entered in any other class at the show. Spayed or neutered
Veterans may compete in Sweepstakes and in the regular class.
NON REGULAR – SINGLE DOG CLASSES
As the judge's decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog
Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, none of the dogs or
bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to
compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.
NON-REGULAR – MULTIPLE DOG CLASSES (for dogs & bitches)
Stud Dog Class
For dogs that have sired two or more dogs or bitches entered in the show. The
award will be based on the merits of the Get and Get only will be judged. The
owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be the owner of the Get. As the
judge's decision in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog,

none of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in this class will be
eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. The Stud
Dog must appear in the ring with this Get and must be entered in the Stud Dog
Class. Get must be entered in a Regular Class or non-Regular Class or for Best
of Breed Competition.
Brood Bitch Class
Same as Stud Dog but substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.
Brace Class
For two dogs of the same recognized breed that are similar in appearance,
performing in unison and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs
competing in brace competition must have at least one common owner. Both
dogs entered in the Brace Class must also be entered in another regular or nonregular class. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs
comprising each Brace must be so designated as "Brace # 1", "Brace # 2", etc.
JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION - Classes will be judged on

Entry blank MUST be filled out with the necessary information; otherwise
the entry in Junior Showmanship will not be accepted.
NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and
under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close,
have not won three First Places with competition present in a Novice Class at a
licensed or member show.
NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years
old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries
close, have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice
Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and
under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close,
have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a
licensed or member show.
OPEN JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and
under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close,
have won three First Places, with competition present, in an Open Showmanship
Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years
old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries
close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in an Open Class at
a licensed or member show.
OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years old and
under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close,
have won three First Places, with competition present, in an Open Class at a
licensed or member show.
MASTER CLASS:
Attention Juniors (effective date of January 1, 2012)
For Boys and girls at least 9 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show
and who have won ten (10) first place wins in an open class with competition to

be eligible to enter the limited class competition. The calendar for this class will
be November 1 – October 31 of the following year. All juniors meeting the criteria
for this class are required to enter the Master class and may change their entry
the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame
for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for
the following year.
NOTICE
JUNIORS WITH A DOG ALSO ENTERED IN ANOTHER CLASS OFFERED AT
THIS SHOW WHO SUBSTITUTE A DOG NOT ENTERED IN THIS SHOW
MUST REMIT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUNIOR ONLY AND JUNIOR AS
AN ADDITIONAL CLASS ENTRY FEE. JUNIORS WHO HAVE ENTERED
JUMIOR SHOWMANSHIP ONLY WHO THEN SUBSTITURE ANOTHER DOG
WILL NOT BE CHARGED A FURTHER FEE.
Competition must exist for Best Junior Handler.
No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or
cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary
named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for
entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another
provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least
one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any Junior Showmanship class at
this show.

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES
The Puppy Sweepstakes is open to all Pomeranians who are six months of age and
under eighteen months of age on the day of the show. All dogs entered in the
Sweepstakes must be entered in a Regular Puppy Class in order to qualify for the
puppy break. Senior classes, since they must be entered in a regular class (not
puppy) must pay the regular class fee plus the $20.00 sweepstakes fee.

8:00 pm – TOP 20 SHOWCASE EVENT
“Top 20’s in the Spotlight” is being held Monday, March 14, 2016. The Cash bar
will be open from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Top 20 People’s Choice Judging and
Hors d’oeuvres (light refreshments) will begin at 8:00 pm. Private Judging begins
at 6:00 pm with the judges, committee and selected board members to observe.
Seats including a catalog is $25. It is best to purchase the seats/catalogs ahead
of time as seating can become limited. You may reserve a table of 8 individuals
for $75 this is in addition to the seating cost. No more than 2 tables may be
reserved with the same name. This is a gala event and a semi-dressy affair.
Gentlemen are asked to wear a jacket, ties are optional. Please no jeans. You
can pay for the event on the APC website. Your names will be listed at the door
alphabetically (no ticket needed). You can also purchase seating/catalogs at the
door. With the purchase of a catalog you will also receive a ballot sheet to vote
for the “People’s Choice Award”. This award will be announced the evening of
the Top 20 Event. The “Judges Choice Award” will be presented at the Banquet.

The Club wishes to maintain a good reputation with the Crowne Plaza
management. There will be designated exercise area outside the building.
All exhibitors are expected to comply with the exercise area signs.
All Catalogs will be sold. None will be given away.
There will be a RESERVED SECTION for judges who are participating in
ringside mentoring. This area will be for JUDGES and MENTORS ONLY.
The Crowne Plaza is a dog friendly hotel. PLEASE help keep it dog friendly by
observing these rules! Immediately after checking in, make a thorough check of
your room and report any damages to the Front Desk as well as the Show
Chairperson. Hotel and housekeeping staff will inspect all rooms daily and will
report any problems to the Show Chairperson. You will be held financially
responsible for any damage to the room. Crate your dogs when not in the room
and put plastic under your crates. Do not use hotel towels for drying dogs.
Canadian Exhibitors must submit entries with credit cards, check drawn on
U.S. Accounts or with international money orders in U.S. Funds.
All rights to TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE
or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom
assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons
and animals on the Show-grounds at any time while the Show is in progress, do
by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to
photograph, televise, video tape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and
voice in any manner without further release or consent.
RETURNED CHECKS/DENIED CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry
fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned
check or denied credit card charge. Subsequent returned checks or denied credit
cards from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY
basis.
No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any
condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or
signatures. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in
writing or by telegram prior to the close of entries. Those received by telephone
are not acceptable.
METHOD OF PAYMENTS ACCEPTED BY THE AMERICAN POMERANIAN
CLUB (Unless otherwise noted) You may pay for Advertising Fees, Trophy,
Hospitality or other donations, seminar fees and Banquet tickets any of the
following ways: Check or Money Order drawn on a US bank and made payable
to the American Pomeranian Club, Credit cards accepted, MasterCard, Visa and
American Express. Please include the full name shown on the card, the card
number, expiration date and the CID # on the back of your card. (CID # is the last
three numbers on the back of the card).
FACSIMILE MACHINE ENTRIES for this show will be accepted up to closing.
BE SURE TO FAX BOTH FRONT AND BACK OF ENTRY FORM. Fax Number

valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a

 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 
ENTRY FEE: $30.00 for the first entry of each dog including $.50 A.K.C.
recording fee & $3.00 A.K.C. Event Service Fee and $20.00 each additional entry
of the same dog. Bred-By Exhibitor and Puppy Classes (6-9; 9-12 mos.), $20.00.
Sweepstakes, $20.00. Brace, All Non-Regular Classes, $20.00. Junior
Showmanship (first entry) FREE. Obedience $30.00. Rally Classes, $30.00
CLOSING DATE for entries 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, FEBRUARY 24, 2016 (at
Show Secretary's Office) after which entries cannot be accepted, cancelled or
substituted except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show
Rules. THE SHOW will be open from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
An AKC RECORDING FEE of $.50 and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00
will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show,
Obedience Trial or Rally. If a dog is entered in more than one class in one of
these events, the AKC Recording Fee and Service Fee are to be collected on the
first entry only. (AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2). All
Recording Fees payable to the American Kennel Club.
RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. A charge of $20.00 will
be made for each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same
exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. An
administrative Fee of $2.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries
cancelled prior to the closing of entries. TELEGRAPH, TELEPHONE and
UNSIGNED ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
ENTRIES NOT ON OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORMS AND PHOTOCOPIES OF
ENTRY FORMS without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the
Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE.

ENTRIES RECEIVED WITHOUT FEES will not be accepted.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES will be made as soon as practical with
tickets and/or identification cards. The person accompanying a dog must show
tickets of admission and identification before the dog will be received.
SHOULD SUCH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOT BE RECEIVED BY THE
EXHIBITOR within a reasonable time, please notify Jim Rau Dog Shows at (610)
376-1880.
MAKE ALL CHECKS AND MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO J.R.D.S., Ltd.
Please mail checks or money orders with entries. Superintendent assumes no
responsibility for cash sent through the mail.
ALL CREDIT CARD ENTRIES, REGARDLESS OF METHOD SUBMITTED, are
processed through the FAX program and will be charged a $4.00 per dog per
show processing fee.
CANADIAN EXHIBITORS make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS.
NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED
WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS AS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE.
ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent,
disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by
action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts
beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the
show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as,
but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, must be
considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The
well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in

the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund
of entry fee will be made.
ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out
entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in
event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published
closing date.NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every
effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog has been processed, no refund will
be made.
CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING.
DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS
NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT
FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are
responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes
are called to be judged. The show-giving club and the Superintendent have no
obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system
or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not
brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on
leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the
exercising ring.
THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence
for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume
any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors
participating in this show. CANINE COURTESY All dogs shall be kept under
control at all times. You are responsible for picking up after the animals in your
care. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event
Cancellation Hotline 877-252-3229.Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians'
recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites,
any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. Effective
January 1, 2009 – Refund and cash award checks are void after 180 days and
WILL NOT be Re-issued.
